Song: Cold Wind Blowin' by The Barrows

I wake up in a cold sweat, another freaking nightmare. This time I had visions of being taken away not only from my family my grandparents were there as well. It was strange actually to see them there but I guess doing the research jogged some memories of them. I keep trying to pull them out into the open because I vaguely even remember what they look like. I was so young when I came to live here but in my dream, I remember them perfectly.

The weird thing is that in the dream, I wasn't at my house but another house. However I have been there before and I can so picture the place in my mind. It was a one story house but it seemed long like it went on forever. There were blue shutters on the windows to match the front door and I recall the American Flag hanging on the front porch. Along the sidewalk was a row of flowers and for some reason I can even hear my grandmother yelling at my brothers to get out of them. But suddenly the world came crashing down and we are running for our lives and the next thing I know I am in the playhouse out back, my play house back at my house. Dreams they always jumble up and get confusing.

As I jolt up into sitting, I try to recall their place and I know for sure there was not a play house in the backyard. I believe her yelling at my brothers triggered another memory of the night my family was taken away from me and that is why my sister was yelling for me to run and I ended up in the play house. I rub my eyes momentarily and then reach over for my phone. When I push the button for it to come on, it still has the list of all the names. Even though I am in the list with just the city, there are hundreds of them. So I think about pulling up Samuel Green. I quickly type it in and only ten pop up.

It's funny how when you look up a name it's like everything just pops up. There are a few articles that I find and even his obituary; the same one I already had a picture of. As I look back into the search engine I find another interesting article about my family. The headline reads, "Search Continues for the Missing Green Family."

Samuel Green and his wife Evelynn have reported that the last time they heard from their son and his family were on Wednesday night, two weeks ago. They stated that their son would never just pick up and leave without telling them, especially if planning on being gone for so long. The Green's house was searched and nothing was out of place. Matter of fact the families cars were also at home and this only conclude two things, they went on a family trip or something did in fact happen to the family. There are no leads at the moment. If you know this family or anything about their whereabouts please call the police headquarters immediately a cash award will be offered for any information.

I skim through several more articles that were posted over the years and then nothing. It's like it went into the cold case files.

I never tell my parents the information that I had found and I for sure never mention it to anyone else. Over the next few weeks, I continue to search as much as possible. I find everything that I possibly can. My grandmother happens to live on the other side of town, not even twenty minutes away from here. All these years and she was so close. Of course I didn't want to show up walking around with a cane. I didn't want her to see me that way.

Once the cast was off, I started physical therapy. The therapist was a pain in my ass because he never let up on me and forced me to work on walking even when I so didn't want to. Of course I never complained because I didn't want to hear what he had to say or my parents for that matter. Late in the evenings I would take a long hot bath and put up my feet in the bed to only dig into the computer to see if I could find more information.

My uncle William was still very much alive. He also lived close by and was married to Jeanie. They had two kids that were grown up now and had kids of their own. It was nice in a way to know that I had a family out there that was blood related to me but also a little sad because there was no way that I could just go and introduce myself to them.

Thoughts about my mom's family runs through my head. I have no clue what her last name was before she married my dad so there is no way that I will ever find out about them. I wonder if they are still alive or if my mom had any brothers or sisters. I could have lots of aunts and uncles and even cousins out there. I wonder if any of them ever think about me or did they just close the door many years ago just like the police did.

Another month has gone by, I know it is crazy how time goes by and my feelings for Eli are somewhere faded into all my other thoughts. His calls that were every night has become to maybe once a week if that. I can only imagine that he is off with some hot babe. I'm sure she is finding way to please the hell out of him and is keeping him very occupied that is why he hasn't been calling so much. A part of me wants to go out to California just to see how he is really doing but that won't be happening any time soon.

I have so many other things that I want to do first, like take a visit to my grandmothers house. I shut the computer down and go downstairs. Everyone is running around the house getting ready to leave.

"What's going on; you guys have job or something?"

"Actually we do. We have to be in Chicago by this afternoon. Your dad has an assignment and of course that means I do as well."

"Can I go with you?" I ask because if I have to stay here a few more days doing really nothing, I might just go crazy.

My mom's whole facial expression perks up. "You want to go? It's been a long time since you have gone on an assignment with us."

"I know. I'm ready. Besides I want to help and I so need to get out of here."

"I thought you didn't want to do this business?" My dad comes strolling in, buttoning his shirt the rest of the way up.

I look over at my dad and then gradually at the rest of the crew. I see it in their eyes they are excited to hear this just by the look in their eyes. "Nothing wrong with following in your footsteps is there. I'm tired of sitting around here and I for sure not moving back to New York to dance any time soon so I might as well do something."

"Ok...go get dressed and meet us back down here. We leave in ten."

It takes me a few second to go back up the stairs and then back down. But when I do come down, I am dressed in completely black. I even have my hair pulled back, ready to go. The flight there only took a good hour in the jet. When we get out there is a car already waiting on us of course. Once we all climb in, it zooms off to take us to the hotel. I watch as they get everything ready to go.

"So what is the assignment tonight?" I ask.

"They are holding a conference downtown with the senator and a few other important people. My job is to take out Representative Carlton. I am to take him out at the hotel that he is staying in which happens to be this one. He should be on the twentieth floor. Atticus is looking into it at the moment."

"So you just have to kill him and then we will clean up the mess. That seems simple."

"It would but he has a few other people with him and more than likely we will have to take all of them out as well. Nothing is ever simple."

We wait it out for a few hours. I watch the conference on the flat screen TV on the wall. They are having a debate about something. I am not really paying much attention to it. Later in the night my dad packs his weapons; he has several guns on him and they each have a silencer. We are to wait until it is cleared to go in.

Not even thirty minutes later my mom's phone goes off. I jump and watch her reaction as she motions me to come along. We head out and go down to the elevator. She has a suitcase full of equipment that contains all the stuff we will need for the assignment. Once on the twentieth floor, the doors open and we walk out into a Penthouse. There are two guys grouched on the floor in the doorway, dead of course. As we walk on into the room, I noticed two other guys on the sofa with a gunshot to the head. Another guy sitting in the side chair is still holding his glass of liquor and I'm surprised he hadn't dropped it.

I continue to look around for my dad, but he is not in the room. My mom shoves a roll of plastic in hands. "Here, I need you to lay this out on the floor."

I do as I am told. Then watch Atticus pick up the bodies one at a time to lay them on the plastic. Once one is down he rolls him up and picks him up to carry to the bathroom. My mom does the harder work. I shouldn't be watching her but I can't seem to look the other way. I watch as she slices the one guy open and starts to take out specific body parts and wrap them before placing in the cooler.

"Would you like to help?" She tilts her head to motion for me to come over.

"I...I don't know what to do." I try shrugging it off, in reality I do know what to do it's just been so long.

"Surely you haven't forgotten over the years. Here you can help me."

I walk over and get on my knees. As she cuts out each vital organ she hands it to me and I place in the bag and then into the cooler. I should find it revolting but I don't. I have been here before it's just been many years. After she is finished, Atticus helps with picking the body up and throwing it in the massive tub. We all place on specific gloves with a mask so we don't breathe in the acid mixture. While one is being cut open the other is in the tub soaking in acid. We continue to do this for the next several hours until they are all done. In the end there is only a mess of bones in the tub to be taken out. We could easily take care of it however we are just running out of time.

Atticus comes up with Ashton with a few steel suitcases. I help take out the bones and toss them in a black bag. They pile them in the suitcases to be taken out. They leave with the suitcases and my mom and I stay behind to clean up everything so that it will look like no one was ever here. It takes us a good two hours to clean everything, by the time we get back to the room it is going on three am.

I jump in the shower and then head to bed, even if it is only lying down for not even three hours. When it is time to get up, we head back home carrying all the suitcases back with us. We will destroy the bones at the Crematory. Thankfully we have our own jet and we don't have to check in our stuff.

As I sit down and buckle in for the lift off, my mom sits across from me. "So are you thinking about staying and continuing the family business?"

"Maybe. It's not like I will be dancing anymore so I might as well do something, right."

"Only if that is what you want to do. I mean it could easily end with us. It's not like you will ever need anything in life. Mekhi and I talked and we are leaving everything to you if for some reason we die. Everything is already paid off. When Zane passed away he had already placed everything in my name. Well most of everything. Marcus, Ashton and Atticus are well taken care of and the only reason they are all still around is because of me I guess. We are family and that is what family does, they stick together."

"I know...we stick together." I stop and look out the window as the plane takes off and we are up in the air with the clouds and the city below us. I debate on asking about my real family but then I decide against it because this is my real family, the only family that I know.
