Chapter 27: Eternity
Alec stood on the balcony of Kade's mansion located in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The morning of Vadik and Mia's wedding had come and the sky was a bright blue with no cloud in sight, allowing the radiant sun to shine all over the rolling green fields. The hills spread far and wide around the estate before the forest took over the mountain side. Unlike Russia, which consisted of brief summers and long, cold winters. The weather today was beautifully warm that Alec didn't have the heart to go back inside. He could stay here forever.
Frankly, everything that happened back in New York three weeks ago felt like a bad dream. After they were ambushed at Kade's house and they were taken, Alec didn't really have any memories, since he blacked out after being beaten up by Giovanni's men and his stitches tore. Gabriel and Zero were the ones who convinced Giovanni to back off. Alec was surprised the man listened, but then again, only Zero and Gabriel had the strength to stop anyone.
However, what was going to happen now? he wondered.
"What are you doing out here?" Kade's voice was soft next to Alec's ear as he stepped behind him.
A smile appeared on Alec's lips without any effort because his mate's voice brought this light of comfort through him. "Enjoying the sunlight," he answered as he turned to face Kade who stood in a loose linen shirt over his bronzed skin and tattoos with a pair of black slacks. His hair tousled by Alec's hands since they spent most of the morning just in bed.
"I can think of a lot of other things to enjoy than sunlight," Kade said as he leaned in and laid his lips against Alec's neck.
He combed his fingers through Kade's dark hair bringing him towards his lips. The soft sensation of their mouths against one another stole his breath away. These past few weeks just proved that he could never imagine his life without Kade, it felt like the world would just crumble apart and fall.
The kiss was long and sweet, both of them yearning to pull the other closer while they never took a breath. Kade caged Alec against the railing of the balcony, as their bodies pressed together. He kissed his mate with uncontrollable hunger, that never sated no matter what they did. The fire only grew as they reached closer and for more.
Kade pulled away only for him to put his lips on Alec's neck, he kissed the marks he left last night. "I love you," he whispered.
Alec couldn't form words or thoughts. He just stared at his mate's loving green eyes and saw peace in them. "I love you more," he confessed truthfully.
"Oh, more?" Kade smirked. "I don't think so."
Alec laughed nudging him away playfully, but Kade was quick to grab his wrist and pull him towards inside the room.
Abruptly, the knock on the door interrupted them.
"Leave!" Kade yelled.
"The caters are here and so are the photographers," Dario spoke sternly. "So, unless you want me to drag you out, I suggest you stop whatever you're doing and come be by your sister's side." Kade was left speechless as Alec laughed.
Kade raked a hand through his dark hair. "I'll be there soon, Dario," he answered.
"You have five minutes," Dario replied before he left.
"You should go," Alec said.
Kade wrapped his arm around him. "I have five minutes," he reminded before he laid his lips on Alec and they shared a fiery kiss, that made them forget the world around them just for a little longer.
After the brief minutes were over, Alec followed Kade out the room to Mia who was sitting in her room getting ready for the ceremony tonight. Kade opened the door and his sister was at the table arranging her dress with many people around her trying to get answers. She was walking around perfectly with no sign of the limp and the horrors of her past in her eyes.
"Kade," Mia beamed up at them. "I told Dario not to bother you."
Kade was by his sister's side and instructed the event planners that everything needed to be perfect for his little sister. Mia offered to do it all alone, but Kade immediately took control and had someone fetch them champagne too.
"Let him," Alec told Mia. "This is just his way of showing he loves you."
Mia's green eyes softened as she looked up at him. "I'm just happy you're with him," she said.
"Where's Vadik gone?" Alec asked.
Mia laughed. "I had to kick him out," she admitted. "He can't see me in my dress."
"Don't talk about that menace," Kade said as he drank champagne and handed Alec a glass.
"What did he do now?" Mia asked as she faced her brother.
"He had the nerve to ask me for your hand after he mated with you already," Kade grumbled. "He should be grateful I didn't cut his hands off for touching you."
"I'm surprised he even asked," Alec remarked knowing his brother didn't give a shit about anyone. But it was clear that Vadik asked for Mia's sake because her brother's approval mattered to her.
"If I had known about the bond sooner, I would've-"
"Would've what?" Mia interrupted making Kade go silent.
Alec drank his champagne enjoying Kade melt in front of his sister's big green eyes. "Would've gotten you married sooner," Alec answered.
Kade glanced at Alec- more like glared before he hugged his sister. "That boy is the luckiest in the world for getting you, Mia," he whispered to her making her smile in his arms.
"We're both lucky for finding these Waldorf men," Mia remarked staring at Alec before she pulled him into the hug.
"Okay, okay, enough of this," Kade said as he looked down at his sister. "Get ready, we have a Guerriero wedding to host."
"When is everyone getting here?" Alec asked.
"Soon," Nikolai walked in through the doors dressed in a black suit with the intel. "Dario sent the cars to pick everyone up from the airport."
"They've already arrived," Mia said.
Nikolai nodded. "Alec, Vadik's looking for you," he said.
Alec took his phone out and saw a few messages from his brother. He looked up and met Kade's eyes. "I'm going to go check on him," he said before leaving the group towards the other end of the hall.
He knocked on the door that was slightly ajar. Walking in, he saw Vadik coming out of the shower.
"You haven't gotten dressed yet?" Alec said.
"I was busy," Vadik answered raking his wet hair back.
"With what?" Alec asked.
"Mia," Vadik gave a cocky smirk.
Alec shook his head. "You're lucky Kade didn't catch you," he said.
Vadik shrugged a shoulder. "That's why I have you to keep him busy while I have all the fun," he said.
"Fun with what?" Kade appeared at the doorway.
"You really want to know?" Vadik retorted.
Kade glowered. "Don't be smart with me," he walked in. "Where's your suit?"
"On the bed," Vadik answered.
"Is it the one I ordered for you?" Kade asked.
"Yeah, it is," Vadik answered giving Alec an eye-roll.
Alec found it funny that Kade rambled on and on about how he doesn't approve of Vadik, but then ordered a special wedding suit from his own tailor for Vadik to wear tonight at the ceremony.
"Kade, stop bossing me around," Vadik groaned.
"Get your suit on and make sure you're downstairs for photos," Kade continued. "No champagne for you either."
"What the hell, man," Vadik raked his wet hair back.
Alec laughed and didn't stop his mate because he was having too much fun seeing him drive everyone insane. Kade walked out onto the balcony and caught sight of the tent being arranged on the field.
"The idiots are covering the entrance," Kade grumbled.
"You need to calm down," Vadik said.
"I am calm," Kade retorted over his shoulder.
"Alec, get your mate out of here before I kill him," Vadik astounded.
Alec crossed the room. "Kade, honey," he said before his mate's green eyes looked directly at him. Those eyes never failed to make his heart skip a beat. "Let's go to our room and get dressed for the night." He laced his hand with Kade's and took him to their room.
Everything would sort itself out, Alec believed.
Grabbing his own tuxedo from the closet, he laid it out on the bed as Kade went to freshen up with a shower. He couldn't believe that his brother was getting married tonight to the love of his life. Neither of them thought that they'd be able to see this day. But here it was and they were ready.
Stripping out of his clothes, he put on the suit. Buttoning the crisp white shirt in front of the huge mirror when he saw the glint of the golden ring on his finger. He touched the gold signet with an ache in his heart. Kade gave this ring to him as a way of accepting him into his family. This ring meant a lot to Alec and he'd keep it safe.
Kade come out of the bathroom in a towel that was wrapped around his waist as his eyes landed on Alec. "You clean up nice," he commented.
Alec's eyes trailed over the chiselled torso of his mate, the gleam of the water dripped all over this bronzed skin tempting him. Kade crossed the room and came up behind him, he wrapped his arm around him as his hand collared Alec's throat making him turn his face towards him. Both of them locked lips and lost themselves to the soft desire that quickly grew into a raging fire. Kade pressed closer, the wetness of his body seeped into Alec's shirt. However, he didn't care because he needed to feel him and let his tongue go even deeper.
Kade pulled away first. "I almost ripped this suit off you," he growled.
Alec was about to rip the man's towel off. "I would've let you," he answered as he turned in his arms and faced him. "You should get dressed before everyone gets here."
Kade raked his hair back. "Right," he grumbled before he kissed Alec a few too many times. Some lasting longer than the others.
Eventually, both of them got dressed before the guests started to arrive at the party. But Alec knew when their friends arrived because the commotion almost blew the roof off. The Centauri pack came storming inside. Gabriel stood with his mate Sabrina, both of them in navy-blue. Hunter, Hailey matched in red and were holding their son Gideon. River was in black with his mate Zoya who was in bright yellow dress. Ryder, Vincent matched in black tuxedos as they walked in with Azura and Lupin, Viola who all wore different colours but still looked great. As usual, King was in a stylish black suit with Klaus who was holding Ender's hand; both of them in suits too. Bone held a bouquet of white roses in his hand.
Alec went to greet them with Kade.
"Let's get this party started," Ryder announced.
"It did when we came," Vincent added.
"Where's Mia?" Hailey asked.
"She's in her room down the hall," Alec told her.
All the ladies waved off and went rushing to the bride's room. Vincent, Ryder, Bone, Klaus and his son, Lupin and Hunter all went to Vadik's room to help him out or drive him crazy. One never knew what the Centauri's had in mind.
"You have a beautiful home," Gabriel said.
"Thanks," Kade answered.
"Why are you being a hard-ass even at a party?" King remarked as he faced his friend.
"Who invited you?" Kade crossed his arms.
"Your mate did," King gloated.
"How are you feeling?" Gabriel asked Alec as he ignored the two bickering wolves.
"I'm good, happy," Alec answered.
Gabriel's golden eyes brightened. "I'm glad," he put his hand on Alec's shoulder. "You deserve it."
"Thank you," he met his friend's honest eyes. "This wouldn't be possible without your help."
Gabriel smirked. "I know," he said before he turned. "King, stop harassing the man. His sister's getting married today."
"He can't help it, Gabriel," another voice intervened.
Zachariah arrived with his family. His mate Evangeline dressed in a green gown held their son's hand. Victor stood with his brother, both of them clad in black suits. Evangeline quickly left to meet up with the girls upstairs with her son, Dimitri.
"I heard what happened with Giovanni Romano," Zach said to Alec. "I'm sorry I wasn't there to help."
"Don't be," Alec said. "The matter was settled."
"I hope," Kade added grimly.
"He won't cause you two any trouble," King said.
"King's right," Gabriel said. "Giovanni may not listen to you, but he won't ignore Zero's word."
"You should've just killed the bastard," Isaiah Iron spoke from the door.
"We don't talk about murdering people at a party, Isaiah," his wife astonished.
Alec faced the Iron Blood pack that arrived just on time. Isaiah stood at the front in all black with his mate who was shining in metallic pink with their daughter Evelyn who was matching her mom. Beside them were Adrik, Rosalie and Vivian who were the perfect family picture. Zeiden and Marcello walked in after with their tuxedos and hands laced together. Justin and Ronin came too. The last to arrive were Lazarus and his beautiful mate Sophia who was in a short grey dress that matched Lazarus's suit. The girls greeted the group before they left with the pups to Mia's bedroom.
"This group just keeps getting bigger," Ronin said as he met Kade for the first time.
"Where's V and Ryder?" Zeiden asked.
"In Vadik's room," Alec answered.
Ronin grabbed a champagne bottle as he left with Zeiden, Victor and Adrik to Vadik's room.
"Kade, this is Justin," Alec introduced. "He helped Mia with her leg."
Kade faced the doctor who was handsome in a suit rather than his usual blue scrubs and lab coat. "Thank you for everything you did for her," he said as he held his hand out.
Justin shook his hand. "Your sister healed herself," he answered.
"If you need anything, let me know," Kade said.
"Ask for a private jet," King provoked.
"A yacht," Marcello pitched in.
Justin laughed. "I don't think that's what he meant guys," he said before he saw Kade's stern expression.
"Do you want a yacht or jet?" Kade asked.
"Er- no, thanks," Justin urged. "A drink will do just fine." Kade had the staff get Justin a drink of his choice.
Alec was about to take everyone to the back of the house where the party was being hosted, when he saw his uncle come through the front doors.
"Mikhail," Alec astonished.
Everyone's heads turned.
"Am I late?" Mikhail asked he took his sunglasses off. He stood tall in a black tuxedo looking refined and powerful.
"No, you're on time," Kade answered. "Welcome."
Mikhail joined the group. "Congratulations," he said to Kade.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but it's good to see you, uncle," Alec said.
Mikhail never smiled but he shook Alec's hand.
They took everyone to the back of the house where the bar was located and where the ceremony would be held tonight.
"I didn't know you invited Mikhail," Alec said to Kade quietly.
"He did save us and he protected Mia, so he has my respect," Kade responded.
Alec stared at him in awe.
"I never thought you'd invite a Waldorf," Gabriel remarked.
"Neither did I," King added.
"He's changed," Gabriel said. "How sweet."
Alec laughed at Kade's disgusted expression at the two men.
"They can get annoying," Marcello told Kade.
"How do you deal with these two?" Kade asked his only friend.
"I ignore them," Marcello said as he passed Kade a drink and they clinked their glasses together.
Gabriel and King were about to intervene but then a woman dressed in midnight blue appeared at the doorway. Alec knew right away from the woman's dark black hair and piercing blue eyes that Zero was here.
"Zero!" Everyone went to greet her.
She stood elegantly formidable in blue with her mate who was in a black tuxedo, Severin Salvatore always looked perfect. Elijah stood with them in his own suit and he looked a lot more relaxed than he usually did. Kade took them to their table and had them served with drinks and food right away.
"Zero always gets royal treatment," King remarked as he sat with her.
"Jealous?" she remarked.
"She does save your ass all the time," Gabriel answered making them laugh as they all joined her table.
"Does it get exhausting, honey?" Severin asked her.
Zero looked up at the men. "Never," she said confidently.
"That's such a Zero answer," Lazarus added.
"It is," Isaiah said.
Conversation continued and time passed without anyone even realizing it. Veronica and Czar Bacardi arrived as well to officiate the wedding for Mia and Vadik. Midnight was moments away now and the ceremony was about to begin. Alec saw Vadik come outside to go to the alter and he joined his brother's side.
"Nervous?" Alec asked.
"No," Vadik answered as he stood perfectly in a black tuxedo.
"Good," Alec fixed the bow around his brother's throat. "I don't tell you this enough, but I'm proud of you."
Vadik's mismatched eyes gleamed under the full moon. "Thanks," he said. "I'm proud of us too."
"Get your smart-ass to the alter," Alec smacked his shoulder.
They went to the decorated alter where Kade, Dario and Nikolai stood together. Vadik was about to pass them when Nikolai stopped him.
"You hurt her and I will burn you alive," Nikolai said with a marvellous smile.
"Er- okay," Vadik looked back at Alec before Dario stopping him from going to the alter.
"You make her cry, I will throw you off a moving train and no one will find your body," Dario said calmly.
"Got it," Vadik said before he faced Kade. "You have any death messages."
Kade looked quite smug as he stared at Vadik. "No," he held his hand out and Vadik grabbed it. "Welcome to the family." They parted way and Vadik stood at the alter with Czar.
Alec stood behind his brother as he spotted Kade leave towards the house. He didn't need to guess that Kade was gone to get his sister. Moments that felt longer than an eternity passed, Vadik stood patiently under the full moon as Kade and Mia walked out of the arched gateway together. She was dressed beautifully in a white pearl gown that trailed behind her with the soft wave of her veil. She held white roses in her hand that Bone must have gifted her.
The moment froze and all the guests around them vanished. Alec only saw his mate walking up to the alter and he was sure that Vadik only had his eyes on Mia. She came up to the alter and hugged Vadik before Czar preformed the ceremony. A white ribbon had been tied around their hands as they exchanged vows under the moon in front of their goddess.
The ceremony ended with a kiss and a show of fireworks before the party began...
Everyone was on the dance floor or the bar. Alec stood with Gabriel as Mia came down in her second dress of the evening, which was a beautiful lace gown that hugged her curves. Vadik was speechless for the second time and didn't leave her side the entire night. Most of the group was getting ready for the large dinner that had been prepared.
Alec moved to join the men when an arm wrapped around his waist. It was Kade who detained him.
"Come with me," he whispered before he pulled Alec away from the guests.
They walked off towards the lake alone, it was glimmering under the full moon and the sound of the water was soothing after the loud music. Alec held Kade's hand as they trailed down the path.
"Should we really abandon the party?" Alec asked.
Kade stepped ahead and turned to face Alec. "No one will care besides the villa's been prepared for everyone to stay the night," he informed.
Alec stared at his mate's green eyes. "The ceremony was beautiful," he said.
"It was," Kade agreed as he put his hand in his pocket. "Mia and Vadik deserve the best."
Alec smirked. "Even my brother?" he astonished.
"Even your brother," Kade jested before he pulled his hand out of his pocket and a white ribbon appeared around his palm.
Alec stared at the ribbon that was used during the ceremony to sanctify the union between wolves. "What are you doing?" he asked.
Kade grabbed Alec's right hand and brought it to his lips, he gently kissed the palm before he wrapped the white silk around his wrist and then knuckles. "Alexander Waldorf, will you take me as your husband and mate for every lifetime we live?" he asked.
Alec lost himself to the soft glow of the moonlight that shine dover Kade's handsome face. "Yes," he answered. "Kade Guerriero, do you take me as your husband and mate for every lifetime we meet?"
"I thought you'd never ask," Kade remarked before he took a step closer.
"We should probably say our vows," Alec suggested.
"I won't," Kade said. "I don't need to make any promises because I will protect you with my life." He put his hand on Alec's neck. "I know I will love you every single day and night. I will make sure my deeds serve and provide for you. Promises don't come close to the vow I made to you with my heart. You're my mate and the goddess can attest to it because she brought you to me. You released me from my past and I owe you everything." Kade laid his lips on Alec's cheek. "I love you with every single breath I take, Alexander Waldorf."
Alec didn't realize that tears pooled his eyes until they dropped down his cheek. Kade kissed away the tear and smiled at him. "I love you too," he said. "I've loved you from the moment we met."
Kade locked their lips together in a passionate kiss that bound their bond under the full moon for an eternity. "Come on, I have another surprise," he said.
Their hand still bound with the silken ribbon as they crossed the bridge over the lake and went to a beautiful cottage house, that had golden light twinkling all around it. There were green hedges grown all over the bricked-up structure and a forest surrounded the back of the house. He followed Kade down the path made from small rocks up to the door. Kade opened it and let them inside before he locked it. The interior was cozy and quiet. No one was here except them. The fire in the hearth was aflame and the lights were one showing the small kitchen in the back and the lounge area fit for two people.
"The surprise is upstairs," Kade said.
Alec was led up the stairs into the bedroom when he saw a dozen buckets of cotton candy piled on the table. He moved without remembering that his hand was still bound to Kade.
"Woah, easy there," Kade laughed as he released the ribbon that held their hands together.
Alec grabbed the bucket and opened it without waiting for anything. "Thank you for this," he said as he took a bite of the soft pink fluffy sugar, that melted on his tongue as soon as it touched.
Kade went and opened the large door allowing the view of the lake to be seen clearly through the balcony. The moon beamed onto the floor and bed where Alec sat with his wedding gift.
"Why do you like cotton candy so much?" Kade asked.
Alec stared at him confused. "What's not to like?" he retorted.
"You're scaring me," Kade retorted.
Alec glared at him. "I was going to give you a taste, but now, I won't," he said as he put another cloud into his mouth.
Kade stood in front of him, he ran his fingers along Alec's jaw before he tilted his head back forcing Alec to look up at him. "I don't need taste of that," he said before he pushed Alec onto the bed with him on top. "All I want is you." He caged Alec within his arms and legs as he leaned down and laid his lips on Alec's neck.
The hot kiss on his neck shot through Alec's body and his blood ignited with heated desire. Alec pushed Kade's tuxedo's blazer off him and it fell somewhere on the floor. Both of them ripped away at each other's clothes.
"I've wanted to rip this suit off you from the moment you put it on," Kade growled making Alec laugh as they both grabbed their shirts and bow-ties. Everything met the floor and neither of them slowed down.
Alec wasn't even sure where the cotton candy had gone at that point. But he didn't care. He was in his mate's arms and the possessive touches, soft kisses and lingering eyes was all he needed. They both marked each other over and over again as they continued to share how much they loved each other.
The dark prison vanished and both of them were free to love each other forever and always.
Mia smiled as she watched all their guests enjoy the party and it didn't go unnoticed that her brother had disappeared from the party with Alec. Finally, she thought to herself. Her brother was happy and having fun.
She turned to go join the girls when her eyes caught Mikhail standing near the terrace at the lake. She went to him. "Thank you for coming tonight," she said.
Mikhail's eyes landed on her. "I was surprised I got an invite," he retorted.
"Why?" Mia smiled at him. "You're family."
Mikhail's eyes softened for the first time. "Congratulations, zaychik," he said. "My nephew is a lucky man to have you."
Mia's smile widened. "I'm very lucky to have found him too," she shared.
Mikhail looked back at the lakeside.
"Mia!" A voice shouted for her. She turned and it was the ladies from the Centauri pack.
"Go," he said. "Enjoy your night."
"Will you stay for a few days," Mia offered. "I'd love to show you Italy."
Mikhail's eyes didn't leave the lake. "Maybe, I will," he said.
Mia returned to all the ladies from the other packs that attended the wedding. But she couldn't focus on the conversation because the memory of the ceremony swam around her thoughts. The sensation of the ribbon that was tied around their hands still lingered around her wrist and knuckles. She was married but nothing felt different because she was already Vadik's from the moment they first met that fateful night.
Suddenly, a strong arm wrapped around her waist and she shuddered from her husband's scent alone. "Sorry ladies, I'm taking my beautiful mate now," Vadik announced.
All the girls stared at Mia whose eyes widened at her mate. "Wh-what?"
"Have fun!" The girls squealed in excitement as they watched Vadik led Mia away from the huge group of guests.
"You can't take her," Dario and Nikolai blocked the door.
"I am not in the mood to fight you two," Vadik retorted.
Dario smiled. "We're just kidding," he said.
Mia had a little gift prepared for Vadik. "Dario, where is it?" she knew he held onto it for her. Dario went into the house and grabbed a neatly wrapped present with a bow on it and handed it to her.
"What's that?" Vadik asked.
"A little surprise," she smiled at him.
"Have fun, you two," Nikolai laughed as the cleared the way.
The two of them left the house and reached the driveway.
"Where are we going?" Mia asked him as she held his hand.
Vadik unlocked the doors to his car. "You'll see," he said as he opened the door for her. She slid in and he shut the door.
He circled the hood of the car and got in himself before he drove them away from the Guerriero estate towards somewhere private. Mia sat patiently in the car as the ride was only a few minutes away. He stopped at the edge of the road and took out a blindfold.
Mia stared at him confused. "What's going on?"
"A surprise," he said. "But you need to wear this first."
She complied and leaned towards him. He took the black cloth and tied it gently over her eyes blocking out all the light. Mia felt his lips steal a kiss from her since she was blindfolded now.
"Scared?" he jested.
Mia laughed as she heard the door open and Vadik came around the car to her. He opened the door and led her out the car. "What are we doing, Vadik?" She tried to get him to reveal anything to her because she was dying from anticipation.
"You'll find out soon," he answered before his arm wrapped her waist and under her knees.
"What are you-" she couldn't even finish her words before she was lifted off the ground. She put her arm around his neck and held onto him, it was scary not being able to see but she trusted her mate.
They walked down a path for a while.
"Can I look now?" Mia asked.
"Not yet," Vadik answered.
Mia groaned. "Can you at least give me a hint?"
"No," he responded bluntly.
Mia leaned in and laid her lips on his cheek giving him a kiss. "Please," she teased knowing what she was doing.
Vadik glanced at her with those dark eyes. "Seriously," he grumbled.
She kissed his cheek again. "Are you going to make me say it again?" She bit back her laughter.
"Take the blindfold off, angel," he said then.
Mia was quick to take the black cloth off her eyes and the bright lights hurt for a second or two before she focused on the view ahead. There was a beautiful house in front of her eyes with a huge red bow on the front door.
"This is a beautiful house," she said.
"It's yours," Vadik said.
She looked at her mate. "What?"
"I bought us a home," he told her.
"But how-" she was speechless. "I just got you a photo frame."
Vadik smiled at her. "I'm sure I'll love it. But I wanted us to start our new life in our own home," he said, "and I'd rather not spend our honeymoon with your brother around."
Mia laughed. "Vadik Waldorf, are you scared of my big brother?"
"No, he just annoys the hell out of me," he said.
"Why do I get the feeling you got this house so you can avoid him?" she questioned.
"I got this house to do a lot more than just that," Vadik's eyes fell to her lips. He went up to the door and pushed it open with his back before it closed and locked automatically.
Right at the entrance was a long path of rose petals and candles, the white walls of the house were tall and spacious. She adored the massive lounge area and the kitchen that was right in front of it. There was even a pool at the back from where she could see. Mia held onto the gift in her hand and realized that it was perfect for the house. She quickly unwrapped the paper and showed Vadik the wedding polaroid from today. Everyone was in it; Kade, Alec, Dario, Nikolai and them as well; her family all together. Vadik helped her put it on the table at the entrance of the door.
"I want a tour," she asked.
"Sure," Vadik answered but he didn't put her down when she tried to get back on her feet. "Let's start with the bedroom."
Mia laughed at him. "Vadik, I was being serious," she said as he carried her all the way up to the second floor.
He took her to the massive bedroom where the curtains blew from the soft breeze and it carried the scent of roses that were all over the floor and bed. She wondered how long Vadik planned all this for her. He crossed the space and finally put her down on the bed.
"How long have you been planning all of this?" Mia asked as Vadik tugged at the bow around his throat, it loosened and fell on the floor.
"Since the night I met you," he answered.
Mia smiled up at him as he took off his jacket and threw it on the chair nearby. He leaned down and climbed onto the bed over her as she felt her back press into the soft petals of the roses.
"There's something else," he told her as he kissed her neck.
She waited as he unbuttoned his shirt revealing his muscular torso and broad shoulders. He took off the shirt and it fell somewhere when her eyes caught the black ink on his chest. She laid her hand on the ink that spelled her name out over his heart and there was a beautiful butterfly on top of it.
"Vadik," she met his eyes. "It's beautiful. Thank you." She wrapped her arms around him and locked her lips with his own. She couldn't find the words to describe the happiness that bloomed in her heart. "Is there anything you want from me?" she asked.
Vadik found the zipped for her dress. "Careful, angel," he warned as he kissed her lips. "You're in for a long night."
Mia spread her legs fitting him closer to her body. "I was hoping for it," she whispered.
The night passed slowly as Mia and Vadik took their time expressing their love through their words and actions. They both would cherish their bond and watch it grow together as they both have after meeting each other. They healed each other through the prison of their haunted pasts. Only now, they're held captive in the sweet bond of their undying love, that was stronger than any prison could ever hold.
