Meditation
Life is like a dream:
Fleeting comes and goes.
Carried in its stream;
Tossed upon its flows;
We are taken far—
Far upon those ways,
To misty Avelar;
To flaming Eschar'Aese.
Life is like a flame:
Flick'ring roars then dies;
Runs wildly, never tame,
To that chill demise.
We slowly turn to ash,
The fire consumes us all;
Beneath that fiery lash,
We crumble, then fall.
Life is like the night:
Black while dark things grow;
Waiting for the light;
While the cold winds blow.
We mourn as bitter dark
Shuts as a yawning gate;
The night is bleak and stark,
In shadows black things grate.
