Sometimes my life feels crazy

Leaving my thoughts quite hazy

Start to question everything

Stopping bells of hope that ring

Find myself on carousel

Round and round, my thoughts pell-mell

Anxiety hugs me tight

Smothering my inner light

Feelings riding up and down

Lips have fallen to a frown

Waiting for dark thoughts to drain

Zip lips so I don't complain

For I know dark time will pass

If I let cope's light trespass

Open up to catch a spark

Kindle fire that lights my dark

So, I watch for tiny light

Setting blaze that will burn bright

When spark comes? I do not know

Senses tuned to find a glow

Read a line that sparks warm thoughts

Hear happy squeal from a tot

Wind brings drafts of barbecue

Tummy grumbles right on cue

Smoky dinner lightens mood

Soft wind kisses end my brood

Lips turn up; dark thoughts retire

Little sparks have kindled fire.
