When my heart feels dark

And the sun too bright

I walk in Dark Park

In the quiet night

My feet slowly plod

On a trail of dirt

My soul gives a nod

To a heart's deep hurt

I hike to black lake

Recline on flat rock

Succumb to heart's ache

My mind spins with mock

My old life's high cost

Leaves me in a bind

My life purpose lost

A new quest to find

Create in my mind

A list of new goals

New steps are a grind

I feel my eyes roll

Search the moonless sky

Request way to cope

A bright star streaks by

My heart thumps with hope

One night in Dark Park

Helped me find my way

When life needs a spark

I'll walk til pain frays
