She was Aoelian Kir-Taban, granddaughter of Leyti Kir-Taban the Ruler of Shu Han.

A little back ground story on Aeolian Kir-Taban, from the first two books.

Aeolian is the granddaughter of the Empress of Shu Han, she lost both her parents at a very young age and was raised by her grandmother. She was a spy working for two operations that serves the Empress, when she turned 17, the sightings of the Sun Summoner at the Shadow Fold leads her to Ketterdam to recruit a crew to kidnap Alina Starkov. But on this journey, the crew let go of Alina and because she failed the mission and even made her very first Grisha kill inside a chapel at Ravka. Aeolian decides to stay back at Ketterdam, because there's no place for failures in Shu Han.

None of them knew about her heritage except for Nina Zenik, the others assumed she was a spy from Shu Han because she kept her personal life private.

She joins the Dregs and become their spider after Inej leaves to serve Alina Starkov. She also joins Kaz and the others for the Ice Court heist, for the reward of ten million kruge. They break into the legendary Ice Court as a team and brought Kuwei Yul-Bo back to Ketterdam, only to realise that Council Man Jan Van Eck had conned them all.

Amongst the cross fires and the squabbles, Jan Van Eck kidnaps Aeolian as he realises that she was the most important person in their group. He threatens Kaz Brekker to return Kuwei in seven days, or he'll start torturing the Shu girl.
