( CHAPTER TWO - NEW DIRECTIONS )

▁▁▁

"FINN?" LOGAN'S BROWN EYES stared back into his ocean blue ones, the same ones that would usually sweep her off her feet but now, all she could feel was anger when she stared into them. They were like looking into the endless amounts of blue waves at the beach- bright and beautifully breathtaking-- and she hated that they could drown her in seconds.

"You looked great out there." he breathed back almost breathless as he took in her appearance. She looked different in a way that he couldn't describe. She looked physically healthier and her body had grown more athletic but she still had her Latina curves. As his blue eyes were swept up in the shape of her body, Logan swallowed hard as her brown eyes trailed towards the ground.

She tried to push back the memories that threatened to come to the surface of all the other times he had told her she looked great out in the ring. "Thank you." she simply said as her tongue came out to wet her painted lips.

Finn stood there as his weight shifted onto his other boot, "So you're officially back now?" he asked her and then took a step towards her cautiously like she would run away at any minute. He wasn't sure how he was suppose to approach the situation since he had left her several months back and in all honesty-- he didn't expect her to be back so soon.

Logan nodded over at him as her head turned towards the crew member, his blue eyes narrowing down towards the bright pink jacket. "Shoulder is feeling good as new, so I'm back full time." she informed him and her brown eyes met his blue ones once again.

She wanted to cringe the moment their eyes met- it was almost like a tidal wave hit her roughly and sent her knocking to the ground. So she quickly turned her eyes away and she couldn't help but notice that he was dressed in only his burgundy wrestling gear, his jacket was open just enough to show what was hidden underneath--but keep you wanting to see more. It was painful for her to stand here in-front of him and being able to stare into the striking blue eyes that she fell in-love with- the same ones she was still head over heels for.

She noticed that Finn had started to get fidgety when the silence started to roll over them. He found himself at a lost of words as he stared back at her fit frame but she was looking at anything expect him. She didn't want to meet his gaze and he couldn't blame her- he hurt her.

"Can we talk?" he finally grew the courage to breathe out another question, and she turned her head to look up at him but the look in her eyes had turned cold when she realized what he had asked her. "We have nothing to talk about, Finn." she shook her head and started to pull her pink jacket over her shoulders for warmth as her sweat cooled her warm body."I need to get going."

He sighed in frustration but he should've known she would act like this. "C'mon, don't act dis way." Finn stepped forwards her to grab her arm but the moment his fingers touched her skin, she pulled back with lightening speed- almost like his touch had burned her.

Her brown eyes suddenly went black with rage at the audacity that Finn had touched her- grabbed her even. "three months and I've gotten nothing, not an explanation or apology.. you just left." Logan snapped out under her breath so no-one could hear their words being spoken since they were surrounded by crew members who were preparing for the show to continue.

It was when she caught sight of Cathy walking down the hallway- her eyes catching hers and the woman had the nerve to send a smile her way. She returned her eyes to Finn and added, "we don't have anything to talk about." she shook her head and turned on her heel- leaving the man that she still had feelings for behind her.

Finn watched as Logan begun to walk away, her feet going faster and faster to retreat like they would give out any minute now and completely turn to jelly. Every moment under his gaze had felt like her soul was on fire- that the demon himself was present and sucking the angel out of hers.

Cathy walked up from behind him and snuck her arm around his clothed bicep, smiling at the retreating ex-girlfriend or whatever she was. "Was that Logan?" she asked in her usual preppy tone, and caught Finn of guard as his head turned away from her frame. "Wha? Yeah it was." he replied and returned his head towards the now empty hallway.

~

Logan felt her throat closing up as she made her way through the lighted backstage area, and her eyes started to go wide. She swung a random black door open and to her relief no one was present in the room, she rushed forward towards the small trash bin on the floor and threw whatever she had that morning, the sour liquid burning up her throat as her shoulders heaved.

"Was it really that nerve racking?" a voice called out behind her which made her jump in surprise. Seth stared down at her with an amused expression on his face and his title hanging loosely in his hand as he opened the door and shut it behind him.

He saw her in the distance while he was speaking to Renee about Dean's condition, and Logan happened to catch his attention from afar. He yelled her name but she retreated in a nearby room, and now here he was standing over here while watching her throw some chunks up.

Logan leaned her head against the door in exhaustion of throwing up her stomach contents, and she pouted at Iowa native while her finger pointed over towards the roll of paper towel sitting on a chair. Seth smiled over at her before turning his body to retrieve the towel, and laid his championship down one the seat, and knelt down in front of her.

"I seen him," she breathed out while Seth's fingers started taking a few black strands out from her face. "and I seen the fucking walrus with him too." she sniffed as Seth cleaned up the corner of her mouth with the towel.

"I told you he was no good for you, Lo." Seth told her while he shot a goofy grin down at her. He tucked the paper towel in his fist as he looked at her pale complexion. "Sarah told you that too, and she's right about a lot of things."

Logan bit down on her bottom lip at his words. His girlfriend did tell her that when they met the first time on that double date that she was able to convince Finn to go too, which took a lot of time but it happened.  Sarah explained that Finn had this look to him- 'he was too pretty' she said.

With the mention of the woman that happened to catch her friend's heart, she smiled after awhile and spoke up. "How is she anyway?" she questioned and grabbed another paper towel from the roll and blew her nose.

Seth's eyebrows rose on his forehead. "Sarah?" he paused for a second. "She's good, she is in Davenport visiting her family right now." he explained and Logan saw the way he smiled while he talked to her- that's how she knew that Seth had something special.

The man was fucking whipped and she couldn't be happier for him. The brown haired woman was beautiful too and that was something she often joked to Seth about, telling him that she was too good for him and he would laugh at her and punch her arm.

Logan's own brown eyes lit up as he talked about her, noticing the way the corner of his lips jerked up with the mention of her name. "I never told you this," Logan suddenly put her hand on his warm shoulder and he looked straight at her. "but I'm happy you've found someone."

She missed this. Missed being able to talk to him like she used to now that they made up and Seth finally gave up on trying to fight for her affection the wrong way.

Seth's lips twisted upwards and he squeezed her shoulder a little harder with a comforting hand. It was nice to hear those words from her after receiving the short end of the stick from her. "I hope you find someone too, and if find your way back to Finn-- that's cool too." he told her truthfully. In all honesty, he never thought that he actually hated Fergal. they fought for all the wrong reasons and out of jealousy that he took someone from her.

He had come to terms about how he felt about her and came to the decision that it was okay that she found happiness in someone else that wasn't him. It was okay that she put her trust in someone else. The fact was that he didn't hate Fergal because he loved her like he did, he was afraid of loosing the one person who mattered most to him.

That was the confusing part. Realizing that he didn't love her like he thought he did. Yes, the affection that they shared years ago still remained since she was his first actual love and to some degree-- he would love her for that. He would love her for the fact that he was shown what love felt like and now he knew that he was falling in-love with Sarah.

Logan smiled back at him but the hidden emotion behind her eyes was there. She wasn't sure if she would find her way back to Finn, not after what happened between them. Not after what he did to her. "thank you..." she trailed on her words when she saw him smile, "for still trying to be my friend after I pushed you away."

He laughed. "I kind of deserved it, getting slapped by you was awesome." she let out a breathy chuckle when the words left his mouth, her lips grew wider while she pushed his shoulder and he toppled to the floor with a laugh.

The buzzing of her phone ringing on the floor had her head snapping to the side and the friendly moment between them was cut off as she reached for the device when her screen lit on. Her eyes scanned the message and she sighed. "....and that's Hunter." she said and started getting up but Seth was one step ahead of her and offered his hand to lift the rest of her weight up. "It was good talking to you today, I'll see you later." she added after thanking him for the hand.

"See you." Seth called after her when she walked through the door and started walking towards the way to Hunter's office. Logan smiled as she maneuvered through the co-workers running along backstage towards the gorilla position. It was when she heard Finn's music echo through the backstage area that she looked up onto one of the screens to glance a look at Finn walking down to the ring with the usual grin on his face. "This is my favorite part," she heard him say over his music as she stopped and looked at the screen for a brief moment before she proceeded towards Hunter's office.

She knocked once and entered when she heard his voice on the other end of the door, "I was wondering when you'd-" her voice froze on the spot when she noticed he wasn't alone and her brown eyes met the eyes of Vince McMahon. She managed to put a smile on her face but she couldn't hide the sudden shock that she was standing in-front of Vince.

She had only met the big boss man once, and that was only a brief second since he was standing beside Hunter when she was hired to come to NXT, but now he was the one standing in-front of her with a stern look on his face.

She felt uneasy with him and it wasn't because she was afraid of him, it was because of the influence that he carried. And maybe because she dared herself to be late and she knew better than to keep Vince waiting.

"Mr. McMahon, it's a pleasure to meet you." she smiled and stuck her hand out as she further entered the room.

Vince grabbed hold of her hand firmly but he barely looked at her. "Likewise, Miss Jane." He said, and took a seat down across from her. There were three other people with him, one- who she recognized was the main writer for creative, and the other two she supposed was his assistants. "Now, let's get started with discussing your career."

She looked on as Vince pulled out a few papers- one which was her contract that had her signature scribbled on the dotted line and she immediately felt sick. He wouldn't call her in here to fire her would he? Hunter told her that she was welcome back but now that she was sitting in here in-front of Vince, she wasn't sure if this would turn out good for her.

She noticed that the leader of the creative team took a seat down next to Vince and started searching through his portfolio of scripts, it was when she caught glance of a title that peaked her interest, 'Money In The Bank'.

"Now, Hunter has informed me that he would like to re-new your contract and your pay grade.." he explained while grabbing a fresh piece of paper and placing it in-front of her. "Last years performance had really impressed me, Miss Jane- and I'd like your face on our promotional buses."

Logan's own eyes widened at his words, did she really just hear that Vince was impressed with her? She couldn't believe his words yet they came out his mouth clear as day. "Thank you, Mr. McMahon." She replied and started signing her names  on the dotted lines that he pointed out.

"Now, as you may know that we have a paper-view coming in the next month and we want you included in the qualifying match- and you will win the match." Vince told her and placed the Money In The Bank page in-front of her- which discussed what direction these matches would go in. Next, he placed her travel schedule in-front of her which included her hotel stays and flights for the next three months.

Logan was silent throughout the whole meeting until he brought up the story-line with her ex-boyfriend, Finn. She remembered that before she left due to injury- the whole world knew about them and still thought they were together, and not knowing that they were separated.

"I don't care about whatever issues you two have- but we still need this to be believable and effortless. You'll be spending more time together and will be required to do some more appearances together in the next month." Vince explained and Logan found her arms crossing over her chest while an annoyed expression came onto her lips.

She might've totally forgot about their story-line when she left, and she definitely didn't want to be spending more time outside of work with him at this moment. "We've already discussed this with Balor, and he agreed-- we also updated your travel schedule accordingly." Vince explained and looked down at his watch and then over to creative. "Now, I have to leave but John here with inform you with your story-line with Sasha and the career switch." he pointed over towards the head of the creation team and Logan stood up and shook Vince's hand and nodded him farewell.

John, who was head of the creation team told her that they had this storyline in the development for eight months- since she got injured. It seemed like her injury had happened at the right time. He provided her with the sketched of her new ring gears- which was already accepted by the seamstress.

"Now, we also need to discuss your character." John said and grabbed another paper from his folder and set it in front of her. Her eyes skimmed through the detailed page as he began to talk again. "We are switching your character over to heel, which would fit the story line with Sasha since she is a face."

Logan nodded away and grabbed the pen from John's hand and scribbled her name on the line while Hunter watched from his desk. John nodded with a small smile on his face and took out a thick bundle of white paper and placed it in-front of her. "These are your scripts for the next three months- we want you reading page one to five for next week and the rest are labeled according to dates." he explained and Logan nodded again, collecting the papers in her hand which were heavier than she thought it would be.

"Logan, you ready to be the bad guy?"
