( CHAPTER FIVE - SECRET RENDEZVOUS )
▁▁▁
AS SOON AS Logan stepped through the curtain, Finn's arm that was placed around her shoulder pulled away from her, leaving her sweaty body cold. Her breathing was still ecstatic due to the fact that her adrenaline from the match had started to die down, and her body was sore and tired but part of it was because she had kissed Finn for the first time in five months.
She had always told herself that she was no longer hung up on Finn since he walked out the door that night five months ago but now that she was seeing him here, touching him-- that quickly changed. She knew that he was still with Cathy or whatever they proclaimed to be- she didn't know. She knew she shouldn't of went for another kiss but she couldn't help herself. It suddenly felt natural.
"Well, this kiss was good." Finn's voice was quick to cut through her wandering mind. Logan looked over with her eyebrows furrowed, "..huh? what?" she questioned him since she wasn't sure if she heard him correctly.
Did he just comment on the kiss and made her legs turn into mush, or was she just dreaming about the comment he made. Her own brown eyes had widened slightly as she stared back at him with wonder in her eyes which only made Finn notice that she wasn't even paying attention to him.
The Irish man let out a chuckle which made her heart melt as his pink lips spread over his perfectly white teeth. This man was just to pure for this world as he stood in-front of her looking like he was sent from above in his red gear.
"I said, that you did good in the match out there." he replied and paused his words for a second to add something else, but had to think of it for a moment. "the people really reacted to you."
Logan nodded a few times as she continued to stare at the beautiful man in-front of her. Jesus christ, have he always looked this good, or maybe it was the fact that his beard had grown out that made him even more attractive than before?
She snapped out of her mind once again and replied with a shy smile, "Yeah, of course.." she muttered under her breath and pulled a piece of her black hair behind her ear when she realized that her mind was starting to play tricks on her. She lifted her head to look back up at him- sending him a nervous smile.
Why did it have to be so hard to hate him when he had glanced over at the way he did just now? His blue eyes gleamed like sea foam rising towards the beach, and his lips only grew even more wide into a smile, the one that would look so cheeky and toothy, that only someone like Finn Balor would be able to pull off and not look psychotic. Logan adverted her brown eyes when she realized she had been studying his breathtaking features a little too hard, to which he had clearly noticed her staring as she shot her down a knowing smirk that made her hide her reddened cheeks.
"I... need to leave." she coughed awkwadly as she avoided his wandering gaze, walking over towards the small table that was pushed against the wall under the bulletin board that showcased the match cards. There she picked up her phone and looked down at the screen.
She had received a message from Dean an hour ago to tell her that he wasn't going to be going to the next city since Renee didn't have work. And that only meant that she would be traveling to the next city along with Bayley, walking into her empty hotel room- along with two beds. She was a bit bummed out that she wouldn't have Dean to come back to and talk about her return as they cuddled up to their own pillows in separate beds.
She bid an awkward goodbye to the man behind her and she quickly retreated from the awkward tension that had stood over the small room, she noticed Karl walking over towards her but his attention was clearly on Finn, who was standing behind her but he did shoot a smile at her as she passed him.
Karl Anderson stood beside his best-friend with a knowing smile on his face as the Irish man's blue eyes were glued to Logan's disappearing frame as she got farther and farther away. He put his hand on his shoulder, patting it as he snorted. "That kiss looked more than just a story line, bubba." he said as his eyes followed where Finn's were, noticing that Logan had turned the corner and could no longer be seen, and that's when Finn's eyes connected with Karl's.
"I don't know what ya are talking about." Finn shook off his hand from his shoulder as he grabbed a water bottle from the community cooler, his eyes leaving Karl's for just a moment when one of the stage hands came back with his leather jacket.
"Don't you, 'down play' this with me. Everyone that was watching that screen could tell that both of you were not acting in that moment." Karl replied with a scowl to which Finn rolled his eyes and started walking down the hallway to leave Karl, but he only caught back up to him- walking beside the man.
"And when Cathy sees that, she's going to be pissed off."
Finn shrugged his shoulders as he entered the men's locker room, "Let her be pissed; it was just actin'." he commented back which made Karl snort.
"Acting my ass." Karl said as he sat down on the bench while Finn started packing up his things, since he had already performed for the opening match for tonight. "You never want to admit that you still have feelings for the woman-- you are seriously fucking stupid if you let that gorgeous woman go."

Logan began to back out of the parking lot after packing up her and Bayley's luggage about an hour after her match with Sasha. She had been delayed leaving the place since she wanted to change into some regular clothing, not that her gear was uncomfortable but because it was fucking cold outside. That, and the glam team had received a few makeup packages and gave out some for the girls, which she was glad she stayed behind a little longer since she would've already left.
Logan merged her vehicle into the late night Chicago traffic, which would usually not be so hectic at this time but since WWE was in town, she supposed that the people on the road was the cause of that. Her brown eyes looked down at her phone which laid in the cup holder when she heard a familiar chime of her ring tone going off, picking up the device- she slid the screen button and put the phone on speaker.
"Hey, what's up?" she raised her voice as she placed her phone in the cup holder.
The strong Irish accent came through the phone which made Logan smile to herself every time at the sound of her friend's voice. "Are you still at the arena?" Becky's voice came through the speaker as she questioned, chewing her nails on the other line.
"Nope," she replied and popped the 'p', as she made a u-turn down the street where the main highway was located at. Usually she would be using google maps to navigate her way around a city, but since she visited Chicago so many times-- she no longer needed one.
"...oh okay." Becky replied but her voice was a little lower, and she sounded confused over the phone which made the brunette furrow her eyebrows as she stopped at a red light.
"Why are you asking?" she picked up her phone and asked, her left hand still on the steering wheel as she leaned back in her seat while looking through Bayley's window, looking over at some people who were waving to her.
Becky hesitated on the other line of what she should say, she wasn't sure if he wanted her to tell her what he asked but Logan was her best-friend-- and she told her everything. "I'm not sure if I should be telling you this, but Finn asked for your hotel room number.." she trailed on her words which only made Logan's forehead crease as a questionable look came on her face.
"And I'm guessing by the sound of your voice- you told him?" she questioned the ginger, which in return she received a hum from her phone. "Hey, do you want to facetime? -- I'm driving right now and I won't be in the next city for another hour." Logan said as she looked down at the screen of her phone as soon as she drove onto the dark, empty highway.
She usually would not have her phone in her hands when she was driving, but since Bayley was in the vehicle along with her-- she passed the phone to the brunette, who took it and smiled back at Becky who turned the camera on.
"Oh, I didn't even know you were in the vehicle." Becky replied when Bayley laughed back and faced the camera over towards the woman who was driving.
"She's pretty quiet tonight, I guess that Nia ran her voice box through." Logan commented as a grin slipped onto her face when she felt Bayley nudge her arm hard.
"So, what's this about Finn asking for Logan's room number?" Bayley pressed on the forgotten subject, which Logan was kind of avoiding since she didn't really want to speak on the subject of anything that contained 'Finn' in it.
It wasn't because she was angry but because she didn't really want to know what Finn wanted with her room number-- or maybe Becky was playing a prank on her just to see her reaction. She didn't want to bring Finn into a conversation since there were some things that the two girls didn't know that went down that night when Finn left her-- no one actually knew aside from her and then Finn when he found out. She hoped that she would be able to keep this situation between her and Finn under wraps, but now that she was seeing Finn more often at work, the thought of it kept popping up in her mind.
She thought that if she kept her secret from Finn, that he wouldn't find out about it and she would never have to speak about it. But that was obviously not the case.
Becky gleamed over the phone, "oh yeah, he just asked if Logan was heading straight to the hotel and the asked for her room number. He didn't say what he wanted, but it was a bit weird."
Logan's brows were still furrowed on her forehead as Becky explained it to her - which yes- did sound weird to her. "Why should he care about where I'm staying, isn't Cathy in the next city?"
"Actually no, she's traveling with NXT, which are heading over to Florida." Becky informed her which made the brunette sitting in the driver's seat nod to herself. "and word on the street is that Cathy and him are having relationship troubles."
That made Logan's head spin towards the phone which made Becky shrug her shoulders, knowing that she was going to ask what was happening between them like the nosy person she was. But then again, she was always nosy when it came to Finn. "Maybe it's the fact that she's pissed I'm back, and she's not on Raw." she snorted while putting her vehicle in cruise so she could cross her leg on the seat.
Becky shrugged. "I don't know but when I called him several days ago, I heard him yelling." she told her which peaked the brunette's interest and made her lips purse in wonder of what was going on between the two.
"I kissed Finn." Logan admitted after a few beats, which made Bayley look over towards her with a mixture of an amused but questionable expression on her face.
"Yeah, we've all seen that like twenty minutes ago." Bayley replied next to her, which made Logan's eyes leave the road for a brief moment. "No, I mean after the kiss. I kissed him again and It wasn't apart of the script."
"That's why his face looked so fucking weird."
"What do you mean, 'his face looked weird'." Logan questioned. "His face is gorgeous." she added which made the two girls snort with amusement.
The rest of the ride to the next city seemed shorter since her and Bayley had someone else to talk too now that Becky had stayed on the phone with them until they only had about ten minutes left of traveling, which was fine with the two girls since they could see the lights of the next city in the far distance.
And when Becky hung up the phone, the silence rolled through the vehicle which both girls didn't mind since they were just too tired to care about it. The silence was welcoming after being in an arena filled with screams, pyro's going off, and music blasting.
"Have you even talked to him?" Bayley suddenly asked as she leaned back in her seat, her feet resting on the dashboard of the vehicle.
Logan looked over at the girl even though she wouldn't be able to get a real good look at her expression since they didn't have too much light in the car. "Not really, it's kind of awkward between us now." she shook her head with a frown.
She never thought that she would've actually broke up and ended up the way they were but she supposed that things had to get bad between them. And besides, why would she even care as much as she did about him? She had told herself that she wouldn't fall for him again once she seen him, but when she did that night of her return-- she had always knew that the man that stood in-front of her had completely stolen her heart.
She had always known that people were capable of loving people too hard-- to much at times that it often started to turn toxic. She couldn't even picture herself with another man after Finn left, it was impossible for her to even think of loving someone else while her heart tried to mend what the Irish man broke. But it seemed like she didn't even fix what he broke, she just kind of just patched up the pieces and hoped that she would get over it but she didn't.
Her love for Finn was beyond the bounds now; and she couldn't picture herself falling in-love with someone other than him.
And she couldn't even explain to anyone what it felt like when she saw him and Cathy together, her heard had been stabbed over and over again and she was left to bleed out.
She was good at hiding what her true feelings where from people - she always had been - but she couldn't hide them forever. They would catch up with her and eat her alive like it was doing now.
Her brown eyes glanced over toward Bayley who grew silent once again, "Is it crazy that I still.. love him?" she asked as she pulled up in the parking lot of the hotel.
Bayley undid her seat belt but she didn't leave the vehicle. Instead, she turned her body over towards the Latina and put her cold hand on top of hers. "I would never call you crazy. And it's alright that you still love him, he was a big part of your life." she reassured her.
Logan stared back into her eyes for a second before she nodded her head and gave her a half smile. "text me tomorrow morning when you're going to the gym." she told her and started to undo her own seat belt to get out of the car.
Bayley nodded back at her and grabbed her luggage from the back of the vehicle when Logan pressed the button to open up the trunk. She had noticed that they were a few people already in the parking lot, grabbing their own luggage from their vehicles. She noticed that Braun and Alexa had traveled together when she heard the laughter of the blonde haired girl, and it wasn't hard to spot Braun.
She locked the doors when she grabbed the last suitcase from the back and watched the door lower by itself, rolling her suitcases behind her into the hotel. Finally, she would be able to sleep since she was literally just to exhausted to think of anything else expect sleep right now.
But when she entered her hotel room for the night, her body had really wanted a shower when noticing how sore her muscles had grown while sitting in the same position while driving. And besides, she really didn't want to dive into the clean sheets when she was dirty. When she got out from her hot shower, she cleaned her face from what was left of her makeup and combed through her wet hair. She grabbed a pair of grey shorts from her suitcase and threw on her red Calvin's sports bra before literally jumping into bed, covering herself with the heavy sheets.
It was only until she was asleep that she heard a few strong knocks on her door, and for a second- she thought she had been imagining it as her brown eyes opened tiredly. She turned over to look at the alarm clock which had 3:15 AM written in big red letters glowing back at her- she questioned who the hell would be knocking on her door when the three knocks sounded again.
With a tired sigh, she threw the blanket off of her and climbed out of bed to reach for the door. When she opened it- she found a disheveled Balor staring back at her with sleep clouding his eyes. "Uh.. you do realize it's three in the morning, right?" she questioned in mid-yawn- still unsure if what she was seeing in front of her was really him or not.
Finn shrugged back at her while his eyes went down to take in her appearance, and the lack of clothing dressing her body. Her hair was still wild and curly from the match but it was stuck up in some places. "I couldn't sleep-- can I come in?"
Logan raised her eyebrows on her forehead as her arm went out to allow herself to lean against the door frame. "No, you can't--" her reply was cut short when Finn pushed her aside lightly and let himself into her room. "--or just invite yourself in." he heard her mutter behind him as his eyes looked around to see the room empty with the made bed beside hers.
"I just needed to talk to you." Finn turned back around as she yawned again, looking back at him with a glare as he had to nerve to disturb her sleep.
"and you couldn't wait until it was- i dunno- not three in the morning?" she snapped back while staring back at him, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Look I get that your angry-"
Logan's eyebrow raised, "Angry?" she scoffed and looked to the side as her tone came out more venomous than she intended. "I'm way past angry. How the hell do you have the nerve to stand in-front of me at three in the morning, when your girlfriend is in a different state?"
Finn rolled his eyes, knowing that this would always be a response from her- her yelling at him and then he wouldn't get a chance to even explain why he came here in the first place. "Logan." he reached out to touch her but she stepped away from him.
"No, you listen right now." she demanded, anger starting to bleed through her voice. "I'm so sick and tired of acting like I'm not in-love with you -coming to work and pretending as if I didn't play a massive role in your life, as If I have always been nothing to you." she whispered from across the room, knowing that it was late and she didn't want to wake anyone up in the hotel. "It isn't possible for me to act normal or business-like in front of the guy who captured my heart the moment you noticed me." she breathed out and looked over at him as his eyes blinked back a couple times.
Finn shook his head, "Don't act as if I did everything wrong, how would you feel if you had gotten a call from an abortion clinic-- you'd be pretty fuckin' angry." he yelled back at her, now that they were alone- he could finally tell her what had been eating him alive for the last five months.
His words had hit her like a ton of bricks as she stood there with a shocked look on her face. Her eyes widened but she looked towards the ground, knowing full well that they had both hurt each other. "I get it, you come with the baggage of not knowing how to work a relationship but we both promised to meet each other half way-- and that half way requires you to fucking tell me your carrying my child."
Logan sucked in a breath as she shook her head, her eyes not leaving the grey carpet that stuck between her toes. "I walked away because I was so sick of getting the short end of the stick- it wasn't because of all the words you said that broke my heart, it was the absence of your voice that hurt the most."
"Don't told that against me, Finn." she shook her head as her voice was a whisper. "don't forget the fact that you cheated- you cheated because I hurt you and you did it to hurt me back."
"I still love you." Finn had stopped her from forming another sentence which his words had caught her off guard as she stared back at him. She raised her chin as she swallowed the lump in her throat, she wanted to say something but her brain lacked the form of words.
She shook her head. "What.. What about Cathy?" she questioned as she took a step towards her, and she watched him with caution as he stared back at her.
He hoped that she wouldn't back up and push him away when he reached out to touch her arm, his fingers running up the smoothness of her bicep. Just the touch of her had sent fireworks erupting in his stomach like some corny romance novel, and he wondered how he could feel so hopelessly in love with someone so clueless in love- so damaged from the past.
"We're not together anymore."
