Poppy's POV

No No No..... this can't be. He can't be gone, he *sniff* can't be.

It's a nightmare I'll wake up... I'll wake up. But why am I still here?

Here with him lying limp in my arms.

My Branchie....

He was gone. I held him close to me, never wanting to let go, crying my eyes out.

"Branch... N-n-o... please....". But his skin was as cold as ice. His melody breath was gone. His eyelids closed, never to be opened again....

Tears run down my face, I could feel my colors fade, but I didn't care. I had blood- his blood all over my dress, but I didn't care. I could hear Smidge fighting Creek, but I didn't care. All I want is my Branchie back...

I held his hand in mine. "Why... W-w-why did you leave me" I could barley speak, I was a mess. Hugging him tighter in my arms.

He promised...h-he promised that he would always be there... but your not here....

I could the Snack Pack calling my name, but I didn't care....

After a while I finally look up to see the Snack Pack in front of me. All with sorrowful looks on their faces. We all stood there for a while until DJ finally spoke up. "Poppy... I'm sorry but we have to go.... more of Creek's followers are coming...*sigh* we have to get out of here".

"No, I'm not leaving him!". I can't, I just can't leave my Branchie. I could then see Smidge dragging the beaten up Creek with his hair. Creek looked up at me, seeing Branch in my arms... and he smiled.

"Well... looks like I won in the end eh?". Before he could go on Smidge lifted him up and threw him straight back to the ground.

I go back to looking at Branch.... it's all my fault! If I had only stayed at my pod like Branch said, I wouldn't have gotten captured... and he wouldn't of have to save me.... killing him in the process. The wound on his chest kept bleeding... from were Creek stabbed him...

I could hear Creeks men getting closer. But I didn't want to leave him...

"POPPY WE HAVE TO GO NOW!". DJ started grabbing at my arm pulling me away from Branch. "NO NO NO, I DON'T WANNA LEAVE HIM! HE NEEDS ME!" I struggled against her grip.

"POPPY DON'T YOU SEE BRANCH IS GONE OK! HE'S DEAD, HE'S-... HE'S NEVER GONNA COME BACK!" DJ yelled. I froze, the words stinging my heart like if I was stabbed my Creek. DJ then yanked me away from Branch pulling me away from him.

"NO PLEASE, NOOOOOOOOOO". All the girls walked away with me leaving the boys with Branch. GD had picked Branch up and him and the boys started walking in the opposite direction.

"WAIT, WERE ARE THEY GOING? WHAT ARE THEY DOING WITH BRANCH!". DJ who was pulling said "They need to go in a different direction, we've lost Branch, we can't lose you".

I tugged away from DJ's grip and started to run were the boys were. But Creek's men were already chasing after them...

....and that was the last time I ever saw my Branchie...

I didn't even get to say good bye...

1 year later

"POPPY! COME DOWN HERE NOW!". Ugh, why does he want now? I put on my crown and left my bedroom. "POPPY! DON'T MAKE ME COME UP THERE!". I closed my bedroom door and bolted down the hallway.

"POPPY!". "I'm here Adrian, what is it?", I walk down the stairs were he was standing. As soon as I got to him

SMACK!

"You stupid girl! When I call you, you come down straight away! Understand?", I put my hand to were he slapped me... thank god makeup can cover up the bruise.

"Y-y-y-es..." I stutter, hoping not to make him even more angrier. "Good girl..." he said pulling me closer into a kiss.

I hated it, but I had no other choice... I kissed him back.

After the kiss he forcefully grabbed my arm. "Now, today some of my old friends are coming around and I need you to be a good girl and stay up in your room this time? Got it!". He held my arm even more tighter. "Y-y-yes..".

"Yes what?"

".... yes sir".

"Good!". He then pushed me away letting my hand go. "Now get out of my sight!".

I turn around and was about to walk out the castle doors when he stopped me "Where do you think your going?!". I breathed in a deep breath gaining my composer. "Like you said.. out of your sight!". Before he could reply or... hurt me.... I opened the door and ran outside.

I ran out of the palace grounds into the Troll Village.

I look around to see what this place has became. It's used to be a place where Trolls could be happy and singing, but now it's a prison.

Poor Trolls with no homes live on the streets. Adrian's drunk followers every where.... and most of all everyone was grey... apart from me...

......

......

I miss him... I miss him so much. I wish he was here with me. I wish we ruled together. I wished we had a family... but he isn't Poppy, you need to accept that.

The only reason I have kept my colors was because he wouldn't want me to be like this, so on the outside I was hope to all the people in the village, but on the inside I was like all the other trolls.

I sighed and continued down the pathway. Even though my long blue dress will get dirty... I couldn't care less. Even though I'm my old self, I started to sing.

"All my friends tell me I should move on"

"I'm lying in the ocean singing your song"

"Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ahh"

"That's how you sang it"

I look over to see DJ and her two little baby Trolls in her arms. Unfortunately GD died from someone poisoning him.

I still don't know who could do such a thing to him.

DJ looks back at me then looks away. She must think I accept Adrian's new order, I wish I could tell her I don't.

I turn away and continue down the path.

" Loving you forever can't be wrong"

"Even though your not here, I won't move on"

I then see the Cupcakery.... were it was the first time Branch made cupcakes.

Flashback

"BRANCH! You put the wrong ingredient in you big dope!". Oh Branchie is so funny, he put salt in there instead of sugar!

He looks at me confused "No I didn't... did I?". I giggle at his confused look.

"Don't worry Branchie, we can start again". I grab the bowl and throw the mixture in the bin.

Branch chuckles and rubs the back of his head embarrassed "Yeah well sorry for stuffing it up like I usually do".

I giggle and kiss him on the cheek.

"Branchie don't be hard on yourself! It's only your first time!". Branch blushed bright red, "Y-yeah I guess so".

"So, still wanna make cupcakes Branchie?". Branch then picked up a whisk, "Of course!"

"Uhh.... *giggle* Branchie, that's not a tool we use to cook cupcakes with". He then put's down the whisk and chuckles nervously. "Oh right, sorry..."

Hehehe..... Oh my Branchie is so adorable!

End of Flashback

I smile, those were good times...

"Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ahhh"

"That's how we played it"

I take on last look at the Cupcakery and continue on.

"And there's no remedy for memory,"

Oh Branchie to me was the hottest troll in the village. But it wasn't just the looks that made me love him...

At this point tears started to form in my eyes. I wished I was dead.... then I could be with my Branchie...

I then hear Trolls yelling my name behind me. Great Adrian's guards are after me... which one of them being Cooper.

I pick up my dress and started to run.

I ran and ran till they were gone. Good I lost them, I don't want anyone knowing were I'm heading....

I walk around in the forest looking at everything in it. Dead tree's, Lifeless animals, wilted flowers... I then close my eyes.

I continue walking through the forest going to the only place I feel alive in.

While walking I saw Branch's old secret bunker in the distance, yes almost there!

Next thing I knew I was running to Branch's secret Bunker. When I got there I stopped at the front door.

The bunker had spiders and cobwebs on it, wow it has been a while. I put my hand on the door. So many memories here...

Flashback

"1,2,3,4...". Oh god I better hide before Branch finished counting, but were would be a good hiding spot?

I frantically run around trying to think of it when it hit me. Branch's old bunker! He would never think I go there!

I ran to Branch's bunker and hid behind the tree next to it!

HA! He's never gonna find me there.

I sat there for a few minutes thinking that Branch might have given up and got up out of the hiding spot.

But as soon as I did I could feel two hands grab around my waist.

"BOO!".

I squealed looking behind me seeing my Branchie laughing his head off.

"I scared you good didn't I?".

"What pffttt no! I was just startled", honestly it did scare me! When you are in the woods and you feel someone grab onto you ain't scary at all!

"So looks like I found you...". He says still holding onto my waist.

"Yeah, you did!"

He then gently spins me around "And I'm never gonna let you go" He strokes my cheek. I lean in closer.

"Oh Branchie...".

He then pulls me in for a passionate kiss. Of course I kiss back. I love these moments with him. He is the love of my life after all!

And we'll always to be together, together forever.

End of Flashback

I stare at the tree as the memory faded before me. Even though it was just another kiss, it was still special.

Every kiss with him was special...

I take my hand off the bunker and continued to were I was heading.

I then saw it. The secret entry for me and Branch's place...our secret place...

I pulled away the overgrown vines and walk through the cave. I'm glad to see the glow worms are still there glowing there vibrant colors.

Even though everything else has either had their colors faded or slowly dying. But this place will always live on.

Finally I had reached the end of the cave. It's a good feeling walking out to see our place, it has after all been a year.

As I walked out I immediately felt like I was home. The luscious green field filled with a billion different colored flowers. The sun setting over the hill like it was a painting.

I breathed in the smell of clean air, which hasn't been in a while.

I closed my eyes once again holding in the tears.

This is it, my journey has finally ended. Our special place were we just watch the world go bye. Counting the shooting stars at night and watching the sun set over the horizon.

Flashback

"So Branchie what's your favorite animal?" Branch thought for a bit looking up at the sky. "Hmm... I dunno, a butterfly I guess". I sit up in shock.

"Really, is your favorite animal a butterfly? Why's that?". Branch just shrugs. "Well, I've always liked butterfly's. There just so cool and there patterns are just fascinating!". I lie back down next to Branch looking up at the sky.

"Yeah, butterfly's are quite beautiful aren't they". "Yeah but they aren't as beautiful as you". I turn around to face him as he did the same.

"Oh Branchie, your just- the BEST BOYFRIEND EVER!" I giggle. He puts his hand on my cheek. "Oh I know I am. And you are the best girl a guy like me could ever ask for".

I blush,"Oh stop it Branchie". He then looks at the horizon and sits up. "Care to watch the sun set with me?". Without hesitation, I sat up.

"Absolutely!". He slings his arm across my shoulder pulling me close to him. I rest my head on his head.

"You know I love these moment's with you", I whisper. He reply's back "And I treasure these moments with you". I smile at what he said.

We sit there, watching the sun slowly set.

"I love you Branchie". I lift my head off of his. He turns to me and smiles warmly.

"I love you to Poppy".

We both lean in and kiss. Not a peck. Not a passionate one. Just a simple loving kiss.

After we broke apart we leaned each others head's on one another and watched the sun set slowly turning into night.

End of Flashback

I stand and watch the sun finally setting. The memory replaying in my mind.

Tears started to now fall from my eyes.

And everybody's rushing me, but

That was when I broke down. I let the tears run faster, crying my eyes out. Why did this have to happen to us?

Oh Branchie I wish you were here...

I closed my eyes and continued to sob.

Flutter

I looked up to see a bright light blue butterfly fluttering down onto a pink flower.

No... it couldn't be.

I held out my palm hoping that the butterfly would fly to me and sure enough, it did.

I looked at it with teary eyes in my palm, and for the first time in a while, generally smiled.

"Oh Branchie..."

I gave the butterfly a kiss.

"I love you Branchie"

I held out my hand and the butterfly flew off and fluttered around.

I take the crown off my head and place it beside me. I lay down on the soft grass looking up at the star sky.

I could still see the blue butterfly still fluttering around and eventually, landed in the top of my forehead.

I could feel sleep taking over me.

And with that, I feel asleep. Hoping to never to wake up to this nightmare again. To were my dreams awaited.
