Jenna's phone rings out into the silence of her apartment. She was alone. She presses the answer button and waits for Callum to speak.

"Hey babygirl," He says and Jenna breathes in deeply.

"Hey baby," She whispers back.

"How is it so possible to miss someone you've never even met?" Cal questions, his words slurred together.

"I have no idea, but I miss you," Jenna answers and Callum hiccups lightly.

"I miss you too, Jenna, more than I ever thought I could..I've...I've never felt like this before," He says and Jenna looks at her other hand, which was playing with the wire of her phone charger.

"And how do you feel?" Jenna gulps, she didn't have any idea what would spill from Callum's mouth now.

"I feel like I'm in space..." Callum whispers, Jenna stays silent, she doesn't know what to say, "i feel like i'm in space, just circling around, screaming in a place where no one can hear you. I feel like a supernova, erupting with anger, bursting at the seams. I feel like the moon, lingering, waiting for the sun to shine on me so I will light up someones darkest night...I feel like I'm stuck in space, unable to move, unable to breathe, unable to comprehend what's even happening,"

Jenna has no words. Callum's words linger in the silence, for a drunk man he spoke those words so clearly, so precisely, with all the right emotions and emphasise, it was like it was a play, like something of Shakespeare.

"Are you okay?" Jenna asks, it was all she could think of to say.

"Are you afraid of the dark, Jenna?" Callum asks and Jenna's fumbling halts, she looks up, looking around her quiet apartment.

"I have loved the stars too fondly, to be fearful of the night," Jenna replies and Callum breathes in deeply.

"I'm afraid of the dark," Callum says, "Have you ever heard of dark matter, Jenna?"

"Only briefly," Jenna utters, still unable to fathom what Callum had previously said.

"Dark Matter is what most of the universe is actually made of, its mysterious, normal light can not be passed through it, its invisible to the human eye...Sometimes I feel like that...Like I'm invisible, like I'm nothing," Callum tells her and she shakes her head, even though he cannot see her.

"You are not nothing. You are everything," Jenna says.

Callum's throat clenches at those words. Callum was sober enough to hear and understand the emotion behind Jenna's words. He smiles.

"As cliché as this may sound, I believe you could be my light," Callum whispers, "I believe you could be the very person, who pulls me away from this darkness..."

Jenna closes her eyes, breathing as steadily as she can- she wondered how one phone call could cause such anxious feelings.

"Callum...I have to go," Jenna says and Callum sighs.

"Okay, babygirl," Callum says, "I want you to know that...I think I'm falling for you,"

"Goodbye Callum," Jenna says it in such a way, that Callum believes it could be the final goodbye, that this could have been their last conversation.

That this could be the very finale, that this could be the part where Callum's universe ends. Where his stars, his plants and his dark matter, all fall into a black hole- taking Callum with it.

I hope you enjoyed- this is probably my favourite chapter so far tbh, and its probably one of my favourite chapters out of all of my books.
