Chapter 18 - Fears We Face

THIRD POV

Portal opens as Titans exit through into now hellish place where fire and wasteland are glowing red.

BB: "Ugh. I don't feel so good."

Gar commented as Raven last exited.

Raven: "The crystal can only be touched by me. He may have escaped it, but he can't destroy it."

Red Hood: "Sounds like a plan."

Velocity: "I just hope he left a trail of breadcrumbs."

Cayla said as they started walking. They walk over to the end of path as they see lot of big flying rocks connect with brige and finally big locked tower structure where cyrstal is stored.

Raven: "Home, sweet home."

Robin: "Can't you just transport us inside?"

Damian asked as he saw the distance between them and tower.

Raven: "No, it's shielded."

Red Hood: "I guess we'll just walk then..."

Y/N replied as they continued to walk. Later as they were near stairs, Raven hold her head as she senced something. Soon then hundres of demon looking snakes started coming at them.

[OKAY I gonna rushed this part because, yes, the link i got from MrSkywalker worked but still stops a lot so instead i can concertated on boss fight]

Titans started fighting and taking out the demon snakes, either with sword and guns or with bolt beams. But then Beast Boy groaned in pain and falled on the ground as he started to morph into a dam warewolf as he took out multiple demon snakes.

Blue Beetle: "Gar, you still with us?"

Gar then looked at Jaime and Cayla and smirked as he gave them 2 phone hand signs as they rejoined others.

As they fought through closer, the 3 demons from before blocked their path.

Demon: "Welcome home, sister."

Velocity: "It's the freak show again."

The three demons then morphed into fricking King Ghidorah looking dragon and started firing fire beams at them. Y/N pushed Raven out the way before she could get hit.

Red Hood: "Get inside!"

Y/N told Raven as he joined the fight as Raven flew up towards the tower. One of the heads went to fire at Y/N but he throwed 3 batarangs which exploded into it's head as then warewolf gar rammed it into a wall

Blue Beetle: "Dude!"

With Raven, she just landed on her knees after opening the gate, still weak from summoning Trigon. She got up and infornt of her was a crystal on the flying rock as she started to walk towards it, but what she didn't noticed was a person standing up on the rocks.

Back to Titans, as they continued to fight the three headed dragon, Y/N stoped as he thought.

Red Hood: "This is to easy..."

He then turned and looked up towards the tower as he narrows his eyes (helmet was destroyed while fighting corrupted League, so you have just a domino mask on)

Raven walks as the bridge is creating with every step she takes as she walks over to the crystal. She rises her hand to touch it, but something of red demonic colour is hearded cutting through air as it hits into the crystal, revealing to be red demonic batarang, as the crystal is shattered into pieces as Raven is taken back as batarang flies to the grey skin hand.

Raven goes to look up, shocked of what's happened, but she is hit in the face as she rolls on the ground as unknown person walks towards her, taking a pistol out of the holster.

She groans as she gets up on her knees. She raises her head up, turning to the left, but she's met with a pistol aimed at her head. She makes a terrified look as he looks at the person holding a pistol. The person holding a piatol is a fully grey entity with a helmet on it's head, dancing between red and black colours, while 4 brighter red eyes shine on it, staring at her, more precisely, at her soul.

Before it can fire the trigger, Y/N comes swinging in as he punched the unknown person away, but not far, as Y/N lands in the crouching position.

But when Y/N looks up, his eyes widen in shock. He was starting... at himself, the same him who he saw in his nightmare, as he gets up, as evil him stares back at him.

Red Hood: "What!?"

Y/N asked in disbelief.

Y/N: "Y/N, the original. You've should listen to me before, but yet, here we are."

Evil Y/N mocked.

Red Hood: "It's a trick. I had lock you away, for good."

Y/N said narrowing his eyes as he raises his pistol to the evil Y/N's head.

Y/N: "No trick. It's me, Y/N."

He asured as he steped closer.

Y/N: "Locking me up was your mistake because that way, you acutaly freed me. And now I exist. And Lord Trigon is my sustenance."

He revealed.

Red Hood: "He's a devil."

Y/N: "No. He's a god of necessity. I know you don't believe in one, but I'll give you this. How do you think I exits? Where do you think the Lazarus Pits came from? It's all his doing. When you were revived by it, it also created me, I was born of it, all because of him. "

Y/N's eyes widen before in surprise before narrowing to listen more.

Y/N: "He can give you the world you wanted. The world freed from guily and undamaged, freed from Batman's antiquated sense of morality. And he... can brought your mother back to life, to you."

The word "mother" hit Y/N as he lowers a pistol a little.

Y/N: "But she's the only one who stands in that way. She's blocking the only step you need to see your mother again.

Then Evil Y/N points with his pistol past Y/N, pointing at Raven as Y/N looks at her. She stares at him, at his well enough shocked face after all the words told to him about life which was taken from him, knowing that she being alive, she's taking his Mother away from him.

Raven looks away from Y/N in sadness, not able to look anymore at his suffering soul.

Y/N:" Prove it, that all you ever wanted, can be yours by taking care of this for me. Before, well, my pact with Trigon expires."

Evil Y/N haunts. Y/N stares at Raven, weak and embarrassed looking down on her knees. To think she is the only barrier blocking him from his mother;

A girl who also lost her mother to fathers bad doings. A girl who became also an orphan like him. A girl who was also rejected from others like him. A girl who suffered just as much... like him.

Y/N turns, with an insecure look on his face.

Red Hood: "I would do anything to bring her back, but... I... I don't..."

Y/N: "You hesitate. Why?"

Evil Y/N questions as he is so close that pistol that Y/N is holding is aimed at his chest.

Y/N: "Are you afraid to do the one act that will restore her to life?"

Evil Y/N asks as Y/N narrows his eyes.

Red Hood: "I'm not afraid of anything."

Y/N: "You dare to oppose Lord's demand! Have you forgotten who you are?! You are an failure, the dead Robin, the unworthy son of Batman! You're Y/N Peter Todd!"

Evil Y/N yells as Y/N raises the pistol at Evil Y/N's eye point, who gets surprised.

Red Hood: "No, I'm the Red Hood."

Y/N says as he then fire the trigger as the bullet went through Evil Y/N's head as Y/N then punches him away. A hole in the head of Evil Y/N heals quickly as he then blocks a sky punch from Y/N as they fought away and away from Raven, who looked at them, shocked to see Y/N choosing her over his own mother's life, but still sad as she then looks at the shattered ctystal as her father started to talk to her.

Trigon: "Stupid girl

You think your allies can stop me now that I'm here? The Justice League, defenders of this realm, less than insects to me. I will strip bare the flesh from their bones.

Raven gets up and starts walking.

And your pathetic friends, I will make them suffer endlessly, and you will have to watch. Soon, your souls wit! belong to Trigon, as will your world.

Raven drops on her knees as she groans a little before getting back up.

Red Hood blocks attacks from Evil Y/N, but misses one as he is pushed to the ground.

Y/N: "Your choice to change has made you soft. Ungrateful kid. You could have been more, an immortal, like me."

He then turns and sees Raven going towards the crystal.

Y/N: "Let me correct my decision of trusting you do get the job done."

He aims a pistol up at Raven. Time slows down as he fires the trigger as bullet goes straight at Raven, but it was some thing swings into bullet's way as it collides into it and burns to ashes in seconds.

Evil Y/N gets surprised. He turns and see Red Hood who has stoped a bullet and he stop it with a sword, but that wasn't just any sword.

It was an All Blade he was holding as he stoped the bullet. Even Red Hood was surprised. He, for first time after he was told about the legendery weapons, he managed to spawn it.

But he was pulled back from thought as he hears Evil Y/N snickering.

Y/N: "Impressive. Most impresive. Maybe Ducra was right about you, but you forgot that I'm basickly half you, your evil self, right?"

He said with a smirk as he too, spawened the other All Blade in his hand.

Red Hood: "Ah, Fuck."

Hood exclaims as Evil him jumps straight at him with All Blade, as we go back to Raven.

Trigon: "Give up.

Raven drops on her knees near shattered crystal, as she grabs the pieces and raising it up, before one small pieces is left in her hands.

Trigon: "You're too weak to stop me, Raven. You always have been. Just like your mother."

Raven: "No, my only weakness
was loving you, hoping I'd be loved in return. But all you were capable of giving was pain, so I ran away and found friends, friends I would give my life for, friends who give me love and the strength to do this."

Raven opens her eyes as she tightens the grip on piece and gets up. She then started chating as she starts to levitated.

As she does that, behind her Hood is strugling in all "Blade" fight againts evil him, because all of his better training is coming from his dark side and he is fighting it right now.

Hood goes for the slash, but Evil Y/N blocks it out of the way and then slashes at Hood's exposed body, cutting him through his stomach as Hood groans as he is pushed to the ground rolling.

Hood growls as he sees the slash cut through his armour. He turns and sees Raven levitating, but then he hears Evil Y/N chaging at him. He swings the Blade right at Hood, but Hood catches the Blade with his hands perfectly, stopping it as Evil Y/N growls.

Then Hood rolls Y/N over him, as he takes the All Blade from his hands and then jumps and kicks him with his legs, dropped kicking him into a straight into a pillar.

As Evil Y/N starts to get up, he is suddenly started to be grabbed by multiple demons into the ground.

Y/N: "No! No! Y/N, save me!"

He screams at Hood who gets up and looks at evil him raising the hand towards him for help. He then slowly walks over to him with a Blade ready in his right hand.

Red Hood: "Go to hell."

He states as he raises the All Blade into the air and then swing it towards Evil Y/N's head, cutting it off.

Beheaded head falls on the ground, before begin pulled by demons into the pillar as Hood steps a few steps back.

All Blade in his hand vanishes, as he falls on the ground exhausted.

Red Hood: "Killing my evil self in hell with an All Blade? Gotta add that to my list."

He then gets up as he looks back at Raven who has managed to finnish her spell and trap Trigon within the small piece of crystal as she then fell on the ground exhausted.

She opens her hand to look at crystal but them felt the hand on her shoulder as she looked back and saw Y/N standing behind her, holding his wound on his stomach as he smiled at her.

Then they turned as they see others coming towards them as Kori flies to them as she then flies down.

Starfire: "Raven. Is it over?"

She asked as Y/N and she looked at Raven.

Raven: "It'll never be over. Trigon will spend every single minute trying to get out of here, so he needs to be watched...every single minute."

Y/N and Kori looked at each other as others in the back chat.

Blue Beetle: "Dude, thanks for helping out. It was nice to have a big gun around."

BB: "Yeah, you ought to dump those
stuck-up jerks."

Velocity: "And sign up with us."

The trio thanked and praised and invited Cyborg in 3 (4) sentences.

Cyborg: "It was nice not to be the kid for once, but when you've been in the majors... You know what I'm saying."

He respectfully declines as then Gar turns into donkey, turns around and farts towards him as the trio walk over others as Kori extends her hand to Raven who looks up.

Starfire: "Time to go home."

She says as Raven smiles and accept the hand to get up.

Raven: "I'll take you back."

She then opens the portal. As everyone was going towards portal, Raven looked down.

Raven: "Unfortunately, this is my home. I have to watch him."

She says as she takes steps back and turns to walk away but Y/N walks over to her.

Red Hood: "It's not your home. Home is the place where..."

Robin: "When you have to go there,
they have to take you in."

Damian finnished his sentenced as he walked next to his brother.

Starfire: "Robert Frost. You are full of surprises, Damian."

Robin: "Read that from the book How to Not Mercilessly Kill Ev - -"

Before he can say anymore, Y/N put his hand over his mouth and mouth signed "brat" to his little brother before smiling and looking back at Raven.

Red Hood: "You're coming with us.

Raven opens her eyes to look at the crystal before closing into a fist as she turns around and looks at Y/N who has extended a hand towards her.

After few seconds she smiles back and ultimately took his hand.

Raven: "Let's go home."

[TIMESKIP]

Batman:" I've sifted through all the data and found no signs of the corruptors for the 10 days since our encounter with Trigon."

Batman informed the Titans over big screen covering on the window as Titans stood in line.

Superman: "In other wards, great work, Titans.

WW: "Your determination and teamwork saved the world, and us."

Y/N turned to Raven who was standing next to him with a smile. Raven turned to him and smiled back.

WW: "You should be very proud of them, Kori."

Kori smiled down before looking back up.

Batman: "As are we."

Bruce said to Titans, but he was obviously looking at Y/N and Damian under his cowl which peaked Damian. He felt an arm on his shoulder as he looks up and sees Y/N who was smiling to him as Damian then smiled back at him.

Then they hearded an boom tube open behind them as Cyborg exit it, caring a lot of boxes of pizza.

Cyborg: "Hey, guys, it's pizza night. Boom tube delivery. Less than 30 - -"

He stops as he sees he just came on a meeting call, bad timing indeed.

Cyborg: "- - Minutes."

Everyone looked backed at Batman.

Batman: "Carry on, Titans."

He said as he turned off the call and screen closed down.

Cyborg: "Okay, that was awkward."

He said as he walks to the Titans.

Blue Beetle:" Enough talk. Let's eat."

Everyone run towards pizza and took the piece as Raven comes last, lowering her hood to reveal a gem on her forehead.

Cyborg:" Hey, isn't that - - "

Raven:" He always said we should be together."

Cyborg: "That's gotta be torture for him."

Raven: "Well, you can take the girl out of hell..."

She smiles, but then

Trigon: "Raven, release me. You're too weak to keep me in here, you filthy witch! I'll get out! I'll kill everyone you love. Raven!"

But only she could hear him crying out as a baby. An big one.

[TIMESKIP]

NIGHT, 1 AM.

You've made him suffer. He will hate you! He despises you. He thinks you're pathetic! He has never cared for you! RAVEN!!!!

Raven waken's up from her sleep... again. Last 10 days were... not much of sleep for Raven because her father would alwaya try to wake her up.

She figured she needed an fresh air. So she left her room, quietly to not wake anyone, as she walks up the stairs to the roof.

But when she was near top, she sees that doors were already open, as cold wind was coming through.

She mades to the door and outside, on cold night, on top of the tower, she spots Y/N, leaning on the edge, looking at the night sky.

After few seconds he lowered his head down.

Y/N: "Can't sleep?"

He asked, knowing she was behind him.

Raven: "..."

She stayed silent for some time before responding.

Raven: "... I could say the same about you."

Y/N chuckles as she then walked up to him on the edge as she lowers her hood. She stares at the glowing stars in the sky, but when she looks at Y/N in corner of her eyes, she can see his head was still down. She can sence he was... not himself. Begin empath, she can sence his pain, sadness, felling like an outcast... but she knows now he suffers from PTSD nightmares. The part of his soul that probably will never be healed.

But by reading his feelings, she could recall the worlds her father was telling her mostly every night

You made him suffer. He will hate you! He despises you. He thinks you're pathetic! He has never cared for you!

Is her father right? No! He is a devil, he just tells lies... but what if... she can see Y/N has changed... from cheerfull little friend bird she met that day to... the broken bird, with his wings broken, but his claws stayed, which he used for so much wrong... and the question is: Is she the reason of his trauma?

Y/N: "If you know already that I have nightmares, I'm fine, really, you don't have to read more of my - -"

He was telling her as he noticed she was staring at him for sometime as he turned to her and then stoped talking as he froze when he saw her. More precised, her face.

Y/N: "... Are you... crying?"

He asked, as he saw tears falling down her face as she started at him. When he pointed that out, Raven unfrozed herself and looked to the side.

Raven: "I-I'm S-Sorry!"

She stuttered out as she then started to leave towards the doors.

Y/N: "Raven!"

Y/N yelled as he run towards her as he placed a hand on her shoulder.

Y/N: "Are you okay? Has your father don - -"

Raven: "I'M OKAY! YOU'RE NOT!"

Raven barked out on him as she slapped his hand over her shoulder as she turns to him, as Y/N widen his eyes when he sees more tears falling down her face as she stares at him.

Raven: "I-I... I..."

Raven realises what she did as she tooks steps back, away from him, but he tries to get closer to her.

Y/N: "Raven, I - -"

Raven: "STOP! D-D-DON'T!"

She stutters as he does what she said and stops as he looks at her as she is trying to get courage to say something, tears still coming out.

Raven: "I... I. Y-Y/N... I... I'm... s-sca...I'm s-scared, Y-Y/N..."

She holds her hands on her head as Y/N silently stares at her.

Raven: "I... I-I don't t-think I-I'm... strong enough t-t-to... keep him locked, t-trapped away...What i-if he breaks a-away and... y-you realise how I'm ju-just a liability and you se-send me back tih-there...I...what If y-you're hating me right n-now for... f-for..."

Then suddenly she runs into Y/N and hugs him, which takes him by surprise as she holds onto him tightly and sobs on his chest. But she senced he flintched when she hug him because when he came back to life, he was always to be one who hugged first, but now, she did first.

Raven: "I-I'M SO SO-SORRY! I DI-DIDN'T MEAN T - -"

As she tried to apologised so badly because she screwed once again, she tried to step away from the hug, but what happent next shocked her, as then she felt Y/N hug her, stopping her from pulling away and she to hold onto him even tighter as they collapse on the floor.

[SOMETHING LIKE THIS]

She sobs on his chest as he holds her in the cold night as the cold wind blows into them slowly.

Y/N: "Raven... It's... It's okay. It's... okay."

He tells her as he's calming her down. After few minutes, she has stoped sobing as she in now leaning into his chest.

Y/N: "Raven, you're strong... incredibly strong... If your father tries to escape, we'll just trap him again... You'll never have to go back to his hellish home... and you're not an liability...you will never be one... because... "

Raven was now fully listening to him as tears have stoped.

Y/N: "Nobody hates you... Kori, Dick, Titans, they don't hate you... They care about you... as do I."

Last 3 words made her slowly look up, as she sees him giving her a small smile. She smiles back as she goes back leaning her head on his chest, as both hold each other tightly.

After some time, Raven has fallen asleep in his arms so he picked her up carefully and carriered her to her room as he places her on the bed and covers her with the blankets.

He sits on the edge of the bed, staring at her face, peacefully sleeping, no more tears visiable on it.

Then he felt something touching him or he touching it. He looked down and saw that his and her hand were close, his bigger hand on top of her small one.

He blushed as he pulls his hand away. He then quietly stood up and went to the door as he gave one last glance at Raven before he walked out and doors closed behind him.

He walks down the hall until he spots something. He spots lights turned on in living room. He goes to check that out but

???: "What are you doing here awake this hour...? "

He turns around and sees Damian behind him, still in Robin suit, but no Domino mask.

Y/N: "Better, I should be asking you why are you awake at this hour?"

Damian: "I... am...hungry. And why are you wet?"

Y/N widen his eyes at the question because indeed he was wet from Raven sobbing on him.

Y/N: "Well, I was outside... on the rain, that's why..."

Damian: "You're lying, there is no rain fal - -"

Damian stoped as he then looked through window... and rain was falling down.

Damian: "Oh..."

Now was Y/N's turn to ask.

Y/N: "Emm... You've never been hungry at 2 am or even awake."

He questions as Damian tried to stay calm and not look nervous.

Damian: "Well, I'm now so I will just go get something to eat. "

Damian goes to walk past Y/N but Y/N stops him by asking

Y/N: "Then how is that the lights in the living room are turned on?"

Before Damian could respond anything, another voice was hearded... from the living room.

???: "I didn't know what chips you liked or do you know what they are, same with drinks so I took this and - -"

The person who talked and walked out of the living room was... Cayla as she carried a lot of chips and drinks in her hands, while wearing... nightwing pajamas, as she stoped talking as she saw Y/N staring at her dumbfounded as Damian froans.

Cayla: "OH, hi Y/N. Damian and I are going to have movie night and... Eh He... Em see you in my room, Damian."

She then used her super speed to run away as after couple of seconds Y/N looks at Damian who was little embarrassed.

Y/N: "...Did you just made a friend?"

And ARC III is finally conclued. I dont know how your emotions are after this chapter but hell I was crying while writing this.

Well next is going to be ARC IV - Teen Titans: The Judas Contract but I was thinking about something and I'm gonna tell you now

Well after this next arc it was going to be an ARC V which acutaly is going to be Y/N past after begin brought back to life, which means his time between his death to going back to Gotham as Red Hood

But I gonna ask you:

Do you want Readers past be revealed and explored before and become ARC IV

Or

First TT: The Judas Contract as ARC IV and then Readers past be in ARC V, which I have originally planed

Note:

Reader's past as ARC either was going to be one big chapter or 3 to 5 or more chapters, depends on how my plan for this is long in writing (word count)
