7-- Kim Taehyung
Ding!
The door to the small teahouse was pushed ajar gently as she slid past it and into the warm environment with the sweet aroma of freshly ground coffee beans. A sudden feeling of sweet serenity kissed the aching muscles of her brain, responded with a soft exhale slipping past her lips.
She glanced around the space and spotted the familiar profile of the person. Walking up to him, Venom grabbed a hold of the chair and dragged it back, seating herself. Looking up toward the figure, she reached her hand to pull the hoodie cap off but failed to do so. Her actions froze as her eyes landed on the boy who peered back with a boxy smile decorated on his face.
The thick-framed glasses were nowhere to be seen. Ocean-blue lenses hid the warm chocolate orbs, followed by the sleek black eyeliner, his raven hair was brushed back exposing his wide smooth forehead. The dress shirt remained unbuttoned from the top exposing the dip of his neck. A thick gulp ran down Venom's throat as she peeled her eyes away from his slightly exposed chest and looked up into his eyes.
Who is this guy now? It surely ain't the nerd back at school.
"You did some effort there, But I don't think so it's a date"
"Uh-DATE? No! I just- washed my face" Deep red crept up his face as if all the blood ran up to his face deceiving his body. And, of course, she saw that then why leave the chance?
"So, you mean, you don't wash your face when you go to school?" She dragged on.
"Ah, N-no no, I-I just..." Pursing his lips unable to answer the question, he dropped it.
"Hey, I was just kidding, Calm down" A chuckle spilled off her soft lips leaving Taehyung to gaze at the girl forth, it was the first time he ever saw her laugh with a smile wide enough to be noticed. And, he would be lying if he says it didn't push him off a steep cliff with thousands of butterflies exploding inside him.
"You should wash your face often it looks good" The red blush dusted some more tinting his cheek. He got a compliment from his guardian angel, that's like getting a first-class seat in the heavens. He couldn't control the fluttering feeling in his heart whenever he watched her and it seemed to escalate from the day she walked into his life. Yet the poor boy was unaware of who or certainly what walked into his life, and why?
"Thank you" Muttered Taehyung pushing the warm mug of coffee toward the girl, who accepted it raising it up and pressing the rim to her lips.
I need to stop staring or she will think of me as a creep.
The thought made him peel his eyes off of her glistening lips with coffee foam warming them. Taehyung took a large gulp from his own cup only to end up with a tongue burn. His eyes watered yet he repressed the squeak to avoid looking like a kid.
"So, spill the beans? Why'd you want to see me?"
"Oh! Yeah- Actually, it's about that day" A crook of the brow was what she gave off with a tilt of the head and questioning gaze.
"The day, you saved me- you know, from those guys" He scratched the nape of his neck referring back to the day, Venom fought for him.
"You can't say it wasn't you, cause' I'm sure it was you Jiahn, your eyes confirm it, I'm really grateful for what you did for me and yes I apologize as well for behaving rude, I never had any friends before and people only come to sit by me when they have a prank planned out, I'm really happy to have a friend finally!"
"I don't find a reason, why you should thank me so formally, I mean anyone in my place would do that, our classmates are our friends, right?"
"No, they wouldn't, not everyone is like you, all they do is look down upon me, and treat me like a parasite as if I have some disease breeding in me as if I-" He sighed.
"You have no idea, how much you strengthened my faith in humans, I thought everyone was a bad person, they just liked suppressing the weak to show their power, to fill into their greed for authority, to keep their filthy secrets wrapped in sheets but you proved me wrong, you made me realize not everyone is the same, there are good and bad people in the world and that's how it is, I'm so glad I met you"
She was as quiet as the fish in the bowl by the window, whirling in a never-ending circle of its journey. Not because of his deep words touching her soul, never. She had heard many do that sweet talk, it hardly left an impact now. But what she saw was the wickedness in his behavior. Something about it definitely gave a tug to her gut. Like a pro, he hid it all! All of his filthy secrets behind the masks of disguise incrusted with false innocence to cover the cracks.
Is this the true you, Kim Taehyung? A dirty little disguise caked with fake virtue and good! How utterly disgusting.
"To be honest, I was so amazed, you knocked me out of my senses. I never expected you to be like this" Taehyung cackled softly earning a deep frown on the girl's face. Her brows sat flat to how she took Taehyung's words as a disrespect for her.
"What does that mean?" The pitch of her voice dipped in the mellow rasp ringing an alarm of the rising storm yet Taehyung sat there oblivious as he stirred the sweet liquid in his cup.
"So cool, you looked awesome." He smiled with cheeks tinted a little shade of pink now as he rose his gaze back to the girl, whose alarming sirens went dead hearing the boy. Pure confusion kissed her senses.
"Cool?"
"Yeah, Your fighting skills, damn! Was that Taekwondo or Judo! I was so amazed, it was like a perfect action scene, you are so good at it, how did you manage to fight off such bulky beasts, You literally sent them numb to the ground, I had goosebumps, seriously"
Taehyung blurted out nonstop with his hands waving in the air mimicking the martial art techniques, hearing him a slight smirk crawled its way to the former's lips, hearing someone praise her was always one of her favorites.
"Let's say I went to a karate academy" She lied smoothly.
"Woah! you must be a champion" Taehyung exclaimed with stunned glittery eyes.
"Not much, just a black belt winner"
"No way in the hell, I'm buying that" He tried to suck in some more details earning nothing but a simple shrug.
"What about you? Tell me something about yourself, any hobbies?" she turned the tables around.
"Well other than studying, of course, I go to shooting clubs, I'm very fond of gunning"
"Interesting, finally something that links back to your true identity" She muttered under her breath, while a smirk stayed plastered to her lips.
"Sorry? I didn't get that" Taehyung peered at her face, not getting the quiet words.
"Nothing, I just said that's good" Whispered Venom, now growing interested in her new prey, he no doubt amazed her showing this other side, the true side behind the nerd.
"I'll take that as a compliment" He offered a smile, lips twitched in a boxy shape.
"As you should" Venom glanced toward her wrist, noting the time, not believing that she had nearly spent an hour with him and she didn't even know. Standing up she looked toward the former.
"I think I should get going now, it's getting pretty late"
"Ah Okay"
Venom walked forth, not knowing the boy was following behind her close, they escaped the building and walked down the street. Hearing the footsteps, she turned around to find the familiar face following her. She gave him a questionable gaze.
"Well, a gentleman should never let a lady walk alone" He stated with a small smile earning a snort from the former.
"Well, we are not in the Victorian Era anymore, so I don't need a gentleman to walk me home, get back to your place, it looks like it's gonna rain soon" She turned and continued walking forth still hearing the footsteps, she stopped and glanced back to see Taehyung following her nonetheless.
"Then, let's say it is in my roots to be a gentleman that never lets a lady walk alone regardless of time or Era"
"In short, you are just clingy"
"I'm not- clingy, okay maybe a little bit, but honestly I want to make sure you reach home safely"
"I will anyways-" Venom bit back her words as soon as cold droplets kissed the tip of her nose, she glanced up being welcomed by the roar of thunder and fierce strike of lightning flash and illuminate her face under the gloomy sky. Suddenly water started to trickle from the sky, cold tears as if the sky cried mourning to the death of its colorful hues.
"They said, it's expected tomorrow, how come it's raining today" Taehyung mumbled grabbing Venom's freezing cold hand, he sucked a breath through his teeth and jogged forth pulling her along, who looked at him dumbstruck finding the boy dare to hold her hand. She peered down at the boy's warm hand engulfing her cold ones. The difference was incredible, one seemed like the prince of thousands of Suns while the other looked like a very ending frost.
Taehyung ruffled his hair brushing off the moisture like dew drops sprinkling into the air. He pushed his damp hair away from his wide forehead while a thin stream of water glided down the skin of his neck and over the dip of his collarbones.
Unknowingly the girl with hazel eyes stared at the view forth. He was handsome, no doubt! But the lone thought of him being on the other side galaxy ticked her off. She looked brushing the rainwater off of herself. Strong arms reached to her sides sliding forth and wrapped around her like snakes restraining her against the warm chest of the one she utterly shunned. The embrace was warm against her stone-cold existence. Peering at the hands that held onto her, Venom tried to push them off and break the embrace until a breathless whisper caressed her hearing.
"Stay, you are cold, I'm just trying to help" The deep voice murmured leaving a hot breath to brush against the skin of her neck. Venom turned her head to look back at the former. There was a breath away distance between their faces, just a deep breath could have committed an innocent sin.
Taehyung couldn't express the beauty of those eyes in mere words. All he knew was that they were utterly beautiful, more like breathtaking away beautiful. Whenever he peered into her eyes or found her looking at him, a strong tingling bubbled inside his chest tightening it against the clothes he wore. He forgot the number of times his heart skipped a beat that by now converted to beats.
"I don't feel cold" Her silent words knocked on the door of his consciousness pulling him out of his mind palace.
"Doesn't mean you should stay like that, a warmth of body might freeze up at some point but a warmth of heart is eternal" He spoke barely avoiding stumbling over his words while he felt his heart pound against his chest violently the more he realized the absence of personal space between them.
"It's not wise of you to be so caring. You should rather be cautious of your surroundings, pay attention to things other than me as well or you'd end up lost"
"You won't find new ways if you don't lose the old ones, and I'm not scared of new things but rather curious to know more. Unlocked doors hold mysteries and they might carve paths to heavens"
"Or hell, this is the chess of life Kim Taehyung, you cannot win against fate"
"But, I can drag a tie" The said left the girl to knit her brows in curiosity, finding her new target interesting and quiet.... Peculiar.
"A tie? With fate? That's total destruction"
"Or maybe a new chance to live" Her curious stare absorbed through his eyes searching for any edge of the masks he wore so could unveil his true face yet she failed to find one.
"You are strange, interesting, but strange" She pushed his arms off of herself stepping back to increase the distance between them.
"And puerile, or maybe clever, but do know that it's mostly the clevers who fall face first on the dirt, so try to be smart and conscious not poetic, Goodnight Strange Kim Taehyung" She voiced staring at the boy's never faltering smile. Even though she held many suns captive in her eyes, it was him who radiated pure sunshine. The light of life! And it just gave a feeling of this constant need to scratch an itch, yet she couldn't reach it. Truly agitating!
"Hey, wait let me walk you home"
"Go home silly, before it pours again"
"Ah, Goodnight then, see you at school" She continued stepping up the damp pavement hearing the boy and waving a hand back to him while she gazed forth to the streak of light tearing past the gloomy shades of the sky.
Surely a single streak couldn't bring down the throne of darkness, or can it? But, what if it is powerful enough to break down the whole kingdom of despair? The thought roamed through her head non-stop oozing with these dominating vibes, while the hazel lands of her eyes shone to the rising sunset beyond the gloomy horizon threatening to overcome her darkness and snatch away the throne.
