37- Deal with the Devil
Perched upon the chair in the room, he fixated his gaze on the walls, drawing in another drag of the pungent, cidery smoke. With eyes closed, he exhaled slowly, releasing the swirling tendrils of smoke into the air. A contemplative atmosphere surrounded him as he immersed himself in the moment, lost in his own thoughts and the haze of the smoke-filled room.
The sound of a door opening caught his attention, and he instinctively straightened up, alert and ready. Swiftly discarding the remaining bit of the cigarette, he prepared himself for the arrival of whoever entered, a sense of anticipation coursing through him.
Seokjin looked up to see a figure so familiar walk forth and seat herself on the couch opposite him.
She came alone? Hm, daring.
"Heir to the Devil's eye, Am I right?" The said brought a smirk to kiss her lips gently, her orbs staring deep into that of the guy's.
"Isn't hard to guess, you see?"
"Surely isn't, when you are the biggest sponsor of this show" Seokjin spoke as a matter of fact-ly.
"Seems like you have an interest in-"
"You? Yes, I do"
A twisted amusement stemmed from her fascination with captivating and intriguing prey. It was no secret that she derived pleasure from the secrets hidden by those who piqued her interest.
"Me? Gotta say you have good taste" She voiced while pouring out two shots, the liquid cascading smoothly into the fragile glasses interested to know more about the new face she found, fueling her insatiable curiosity and dark amusement.
"They say beware, the devil has a pretty face but I say devils got the best deals" The intent stare never broke as she handed him the glass of liquor that Seokjin took and without any hesitation pressed to his lips. She twitched another smirk.
"What if it's poisoned?"
"You are certainly not that of a fool to kill an interesting prey just yet now, are you?" Seokjin responded calmly. Bringing the glass to her mouth, she took a sip as her dark orbs pierced right through that of the boy. Deep down he felt intimidated but the sole purpose of his life was what made him stay strong and calm yet who can avoid the one who craves other's fear, which is rooted in their souls? And so, she smelled the fear off of him.
"Smart, ain't you but still scared deep down"
"Maybe but who cares right"
"You should actually, Maybe this is your last shot to death" The intimidating aura she held Seokjin swore it sent shivers up her spine, that gaze alone was like a serpent coiling around your neck and turning you to stone if you looked away, no doubt why devil's eye had grown drastically after the dawn of this child. The emergence of their success had blossomed well and still was reaching sky-high with each passing day.
"Hm, then I won't wretch at least about not trying though"
"Trying? For what?"
"Getting an acquaintance with you"
The room was enveloped in a deafening silence, with tension hanging thick in the air. Yet what broke it was the sinister laughter of the girl piercing through the stillness, resonating with an eerie intensity that curled the knobs of his spine. Despite the unsettling sensation, he summoned all his composure, determined to remain composed in the face of this unnerving display.
Her head, which hung low, slowly lifted, revealing a gaze that left him feeling stripped naked to nothing. It was the most unsettling smile he had ever encountered, almost like a twisted blend of darkness and beauty. Seokjin couldn't help but feel a sense of fear as if he were standing before a dark angel or a demon cloaked in ethereal allure.
"Feeling like doing a deal with the devil eh? Oh, poor soul! what led you here huh? Wealth? Fame? Revenge? Protection? what is it that you seek?"
"All of them maybe"
"Against?" Seokjin peered at her for a long minute and finally spoke.
"Heartless wants to know everything now doesn't she?" he voiced mirroring her mysterious tone. The shift in his demeanor caught Venom's attention, her raised brow revealing a newfound curiosity. Gaze intensified, probing into the depths of his being, as if trying to unravel the layers beneath his words.
The air crackled with an unspoken tension as their eyes locked in a silent battle of wills. It seemed to hold its breath, waiting to see how this exchange between the two powerful entities would unfold.
"Heartless likes staying in control. Heartless wants everyone to bow at her feet, don't you Venom?" Seokjin's gaze locked with Venom's, only to witness her eyes darken completely, a chilling transformation that sent a shiver down his spine. Perhaps he awakened a dormant beast within her, a force that should have remained buried and latent forever.
The devilish presence twisting and contorting inside her, straightening the crooked figure that resided within her, it dawned upon him that maybe he had ventured too far in mentioning his knowledge about her, unintentionally tapping into a dark realm he had never intended to disturb.
A mix of fear and apprehension settled upon him as he braced himself for the consequences of his words. The room grew heavy with an oppressive atmosphere, as the tension escalated to an unsettling crescendo, leaving Seokjin questioning the wisdom of his choices.
"Don't you know a bit too much, If you know this, you must certainly know I hate intruders, but I love to hunt them down" His throat constricted, a lump forming as he swallowed hard watching her step closer to him while her hands pulled the mask off of her face. His eyes remained fixed on her, unable to tear away from the mesmerizing sight of the devil's face. Seokjin found himself drowning in her honey-colored orbs, which were both captivating and intimidating. The profound depth within her eyes held a power that could drive someone to behead themselves if commanded. It was a sight that invoked a mixture of awe and dread, leaving Seokjin fully aware of the dangers that lay beneath the surface of this alluring facade.
"Do you know what your words might earn you, pretty boy? If you think death is the answer then you are oh so wrong"
The more the words slipped past her lips, the more those eyes went opaque. Before he could see the evil inside them but now, he could see absolutely nothing. It left Seokjin shivering in his own skin to be unable to read his opponent's mind.
This very thing shook his roots, this was scarier than experiencing the moment of your last breath or when the person is being hanged and the wooden planks are about to be removed from under his feet. This was absolutely scarier.
"Do you know where this could lead you to?" Venom saw the curtain of valor in Seokjin's slightly shaking orbs fall he did his best to stay composed, she was impressed.
"Do You-...."
"What if I say I have something of your utmost interest? Will you consider my request?"
"Interest? You can never satisfy me, boy, If it comes down to my interest, speak about what you have to offer."
Seokjin's lips trembled as he bit down on his lower lip, a nervous habit that betrayed his inner turmoil. A profound silence hung in the air, as he gathered his thoughts and summoned the courage to speak.
"My identity"
"And that is?"
Seokjin breathed deeply and rose his head high. "Kim Seokjin"

In a startling and swift motion, she latched forth straddling his lap with a cold, sharp blade pressed against his throat to draw blood, a thin crimson line forming where the blade made contact. Her actions were so sudden and forceful that they caught him off guard, leaving him momentarily stunned. She harshly yanked at his hair, eliciting a mixture of pain and discomfort.
Goosebumps erupted across Seokjin's skin, a visible physical reaction to the intense situation he found himself in. As his body instinctively reacted to the threat, Venom couldn't help but feel a twisted sense of exhilaration. With a sinister grin, she pressed the blade against his throat, causing Seokjin to hiss in pain. The perilous situation they were both entangled in only served to heighten the tension in the room, the atmosphere fraught with a dangerous dance between predator and prey.
"I do not like intruders but I certainly hate liars" She whisper-spoke against his ear, her voice dipped in malice.
"And lying right to my face? Do you think it's a child's play, boy?"
"I-I'm not lying"
"You ain't?"
The sinister tone resonated through the room, and Seokjin felt his heartbeat thundering in his ears. It was as if the beautiful face before him had been possessed, overtaken by the most monstrous of demons. A demon who forged her own infernal realm and dictated its laws. Her gaze alone had the power to freeze angels, reduce them to ashes, and plunge them into darkness, leaving even light trembling in fear of its chilling touch. She was undeniably a demon, a creature of lethal allure.
Despite the screaming of his inner soul, urging him to flee from this nightmarish presence that threatened his fractured innocence, Seokjin chose to stay. He found himself bargaining with the devil, unable to resist the pull of those innocent eyes and the boxy smile that had become his reason to keep living.
No, I cannot turn back now. I cannot fail him again.
"I-I am not lying, my word is true"
"And why should I believe you?"
"Because You need me"
Silence overtook her, face devoid of any emotion, she continued to lock eyes with Seokjin. The blade remained unyielding, a constant threat hovering just inches away from his vulnerable throat. He found himself teetering on the edge of an abyss, with no escape route except to retrace his steps back to where she stood.
Seokjin knew he had no choice but to try and plead with the devil herself. He gathered his thoughts, desperately attempting to find the right words that might sway her, that might convince her to release her grip on him. The weight of his words carried the weight of his life.
"I know you are after the KNIGHTS, I can provide you with the information others can't breach and I can help you with what you are after, If I'm not wrong it is Code Seoyeon right?"
"Being a rival, why would you want to help me?"
"If you see it clearly, I'm not your rival, I'm not willing to be the heir to KNIGHTS, and I don't want to be used as a puppet for their benefits after they snatched away everything that I lived for, I hate them all"
"I'm not convinced"
"The moment you come to know the murderers of your loved ones, don't you want to have revenge huh" Seokjin spoke and saw how Venom twitched a slight frown on her face.
"Murderer of whom?"
"My mother"
"I don't understand it"
"KNIGHTS didn't take away only your mother, in that massacre my mother was killed too the night yours died. Tell me, Are we not on the same path Venom?"
"Your father murdered your mother? Doesn't make sense. Why would you go against your own father? I'm still not convinced. Why did you come to me? Why deal with me?"
"Enemy of my enemy is my friend"
"Your father as your enemy? I don't believe you"
"I know, And I wouldn't even if I was in your place but it's true KNIGHTS isn't my home that is why I have been fleeing away until I found you, I felt like you would understand" Seeing her quiet Seokjin continued.
"You can kill me or spare me or deal with me. The choice is all yours yet I know you are not a fool to let go of such an opportunity. Especially when I'm selling my soul to you myself. You don't believe me right, then why not test me"
"Test huh! Let's see how honest you come out to be"
Her actions were deliberate and menacing as she pressed the dagger's tip against Seokjin's skin. Seokjin flinched and hissed in pain. In a dreadful realization, his eyes widened in shock and fear. The curved stretch of the wound, tracing a pattern on his skin, revealed her dark intentions. It dawned on Seokjin that she was marking him, leaving a sinister and lasting imprint of her ownership over him.
The truth of the situation sent a chilling sensation down his spine. Seokjin was now aware of the depth of her control, as the blade etched a physical and metaphorical mark, branding him as her possession. It was a moment of realization that left him trembling, fully understanding the gravity of the precarious position he found himself in.
She... She is marking me. NO!
Seokjin panicked a bit at the thought of being marked, This was something that he never wanted or could afford, what if...
Seokjin gripped the handles of the chairs tightly digging his nails into the soft material of the armseat while he clutched his jaw shut flexing it in the way, his orbs shook. No doubt he was once again regretting his decisions but again he needed to do this. Seokjin's shivers intensified, and he exhaled shakily as he witnessed Venom's disturbing display. She leaned down, her tongue gliding over the freshly made mark on his skin, licking off the small streams of blood left behind by the blade. The sight was unsettling, a stark reminder of the dark power she held over him.
Venom pulled back, a twisted grin adorning her face as she reveled in the impact of her actions. Seokjin's heart raced, and he felt a mixture of fear, repulsion, and a strange sense of surrender. The realization of the depth of her control settled in, leaving him feeling both trapped and strangely drawn to her.
"I smell betrayal and I will surely kill you the day I catch you, pretty one. Welcome to my hell"
