The next day, Alex and Jerome come by to check on Ramón after they hadn't seen him in class or at the dining hall. Alex knocks on his door a few times, and when he fails to answer, Jerome tries his phone. They can hear it ringing from the hallway, but Ramón does not answer. While Jerome continues knocking, Alex goes to find the RA.

"So when was the last time you saw him?" Alex asks.

Brian mentions that Ramón came by yesterday morning. "He asked for a couple Band-Aids, but I haven't seen him since. Is everything okay?"

"He's still not answering," Jerome says, joining the conversation from the hallway. 

"I think you should call security, man," Alex rubs the back of his neck. "The last time we saw Ramón was at breakfast yesterday."

"We stopped by his room before supper," Jerome adds, "but he didn't answer his phone or the door. I know he's probably mad at us, but that's weird, even for him."

Brian calls security to come and open Ramón's room. With each passing second, Alex and Jerome continue growing more anxious. Alex paces the hallway, and Jerome keeps calling, hoping Ramón will pick up.

Finally, the security guard arrives and unlocks the door. But no one was prepared for what they found in that room.

Ramón's lifeless body was lying face down on the floor next to his bed; the police were immediately called. The official cause of death is ruled to be a heart attack. However, love bites were found on his neck by the EMTs who arrived on the scene. 

One of the other guys on the floor mentions that he thought he saw Ramón going into his room with a girl on the night before he died, but it was too dark to see her face. The police ask around the university to try and find the identity of the mysterious girl but to no avail; she's never found. 

Later that week, a hiker finds Ramón's bike by a bench near an old, forgotten cemetery on the outskirts of town.
