Chapter 8
"For an average sized house you have a large backyard Osaka"
"Fufu, I actually expanded my backyard after Tamaki-kun helped me beat up my neighbor behind my house. We destroyed the house to make more room" Sogo smiled.
"Do demons solve everything with violence?" Tsumugi questioned.
"Unfortunately yes" Sogo answered. "Did you expect us demons to have reasonable talks about property and other disputes? That's something we only do to get something from the Dark Assembly. Brute force isn't always the best option when dealing with them. There tends to be very powerful demons sometimes voting on matters"
"I see..so discussions are out of the question unless it's powerful political demons.."
"Even Overlords or in some cases Presidents have to go through the Dark Assembly for certain matters. They may control their respective Netherworld but no one can go against the government. Nor can we just take them out of the picture. They're like the real rulers, they make the laws" Gaku sighed after explaining.
"Fufu, moving away from politics, because I'm sure this is confusing Tamaki-kun-"
"You're damn right it is! Who gives a shit about politics anyways"
"Language! You've lost your pudding privileges for the day"
"What?!?!"
"Anyways, you're here because you were trying find demons who are like you correct? Ones who accept angels? I actually find them quite interesting and have wanted to meet one" the so called mad doctor demon smiled to Tsumugi.
It was true, he was fascinated with angels. Ever since he heard about them and what their blood could supposedly do, he had wanted to find out what else angels were capable of. Though he wasn't interested in experimenting on angels, that'd cause major problems between the wars. That was a risk he wasn't willing to take. So instead he wanted to just ask an angel about everything they could do. Now he could.
"Why don't the children wait inside while the adults talk with the angel, okay?" Sogo said, looking over to the younger demons.
"But!" Tamaki protested.
"Tamaki-kun if you're worried about me, you don't have to be. I'm capable of defending myself and I doubt these guys came all the way here to hurt me" he smiled to the werewolf.
Reluctantly Tamaki nodded and headed back into the house with Iori, Riku, Tenn and Nagi. For a while the five stared out the window trying to figure out what the adults and Tsumugi were talking about. But none of them could read lips so they had no idea. Though Tamaki mainly just glared, he was a bit protective of Sogo.
"Yotsuba-san, I had heard a rumor about you swearing to protect Osaka-san before. Is that true?"
"Huh?..Uh, yeah..I wanted to keep him safe. So-chan thought I wasn't being serious until I swore to do so. Now we're inseparable" Tamaki smiled proudly. "I'll never let anyone hurt him!"
"Ooh, he's lucky to have such a caring person like you Tamaki!" Riku clapped. "Oh right! I want to check the news!"
The others all looked confused as Riku ran over to the TV and turned it on, immediately changing the channel to the news. What was so interesting about the news? It was probably just about the latest crimes some demons had caused or if a new Overlord or President had risen to power.
"What's so exciting about news..? So-chan watches it sometimes but it's always boring!"
"Then you haven't seen the right news channels! Sit down and listen!"
So they did, though they still weren't sure about what they were about to see on the news. Let alone why Riku was so excited about it. Tenn found this strange since Riku had never found news interesting until then.
. . .
Channel 57: We just got news that Channel 39 is a piece of shit and can't their facts right at all!
Channel 39: Oh that's ironic coming from you!
Channel 57: Moving away from some idiots, there seems to be an idol boom which is weird for demons cause like, who cares for entertainment that's not killing people
Channel 39: Look who didn't do their research!
Channel 57: You wanna fucking go or what?!
. . .
"Why are two different news channels fighting over information..is this really what our news has become?" Iori sighed as they listened to the two channels bickering.
"An idol boom? Not a lot of demons were interested in being idols, what's with the sudden change?" Tenn questioned.
"Oh! I heard there's some really popular idols currently and some demons want to try and surpass them!"
"I wonder what it's like to be an idol! Actually I didn't think demons cared about entertainment like idols" Riku said.
"So-chan mentioned idols a few times before, he really likes music"
Suddenly the five of them looked at each others as if they had thought of the same idea. Maybe they could become idols. They could sing songs that'd bring happiness to others, going the way of how angels would be instead of how demons would, to make others despair. Maybe then they could help get demons use to how angels were and accept them.
"If we're all thinking of the same idea, does anyone know what role Tsumugi would play in it all then?" Tenn asked.
"..While we perform to get demons to open up to the chance of getting along with angels, she can manage everything we do and help set everything up for shows" Iori replied.
"She'd make a great manager!" Riku said happily, clapping his hands together again.
"Yes! We should go let the others know of this idea!"
"You think they'll agree to it? I don't know how So-chan will react.."
Tenn stood up from his seat and looked at the four. "There's only one way to find out"
The five young demons all walked back outside together to tell Tsumugi and the adults the plan they had come up with. As well as where they originally got the idea. Who knew such chaotic news could give them such a great idea.
After some discussion they all agreed to the idea of becoming idols. Though they had to explain to Tsumugi that the way they would get to the top sure wouldn't be through fair play. Many idols got to the top by getting rid of their competition either by beating them up or straight out killing them. Some managed to just reach the top with pure skills.
They'd probably have to do a combination of both as not all idols were willing to accept they've been surpassed. Their plan was to split up into two idol bands. For now, Tsumugi would handle managing them both and hopefully find the second band their own manager.
And so, Idolish7 and Trigger was created. All thanks to two idiotic news channels fighting.
