Where Did He Go?
So, here is something I wanted to write for ZanktheGreat because he is such a lovely reader of mine. ZanktheGreat this is not originally the one I was working on and it happened to pop into my head. So, without further ado, the first chapter for you! I hope you lovely readers like it!
Point of View: Third Person
Four thousand years ago, the Second Giant War ended and Perseus Jackson had run Gaea through her core with Riptide. Perseus made her return to her eternal slumber permanently, instead of her being able to rise. To make sure of this, he tethered his soul to her and Anaklusmos, or Riptide, merged with the Primordial Goddess of the Earth, Zoë Nightshade's immortal essence gladly helping Perseus' soul to keep her in check.
The Fates declared that Perseus be made immortal along with the rest of the Seven, Nico, and Reyna. Their wishes all withheld in case they would need them one day. However, Zeus finally fulfilled the rest of Perseus' wish from the first war, freeing all the wrongly imprisoned and saving all the unjustly damned.
The Olympian council, except for Poseidon, became wary of the son of Poseidon and worried about the power he had kept from them and the power he now holds with Gaea. They know that at any time, he could release his bindings over Gaea and she could rise again, swifter with his help if they ever did him wrong. The campers began to be uneasy around him, but still befriended him, knowing he was too loyal to do them harm.
The only camper who could not bring herself to accept him, was the one he loved the most.
Annabeth Chase.
Fearing what she saw in Tartarus and the images of Perseus winning the wars, she met with him on the beach. For the longest time, Perseus knew this was bound to happen. he remembered her fright in the Pit and he watched as she slowly distanced herself from him.
She met with him on the beach seven months after the war and its celebrations, wanting to break the news to him. She explained why she could no longer love him and be around him. She told him that either he left camp or she did.
Not wanting to ruin her home and only childhood memories, he left, disappearing that night. No one saw him, no one knew about their deal, and no one questioned Annabeth in her grief. To her, it was the hardest decision in her life. But to him, it was the easiest thing he had ever done, leaving her. He felt betrayed, but still he loved her.
On that night he left, he took nothing but weapons, clothes, food, water, and his memories. He left behind all he knew, knowing they would never understand. He told no one, not even his mother.
To this very day, Annabeth has never told anybody why he left, even though they are aware of her knowledge.
Now, his heart has fallen apart, missing without anyone to love, the very thing his loyalty feeds off of. He has grown cold, twisted, and dark, yet he still remains in the light. He would never do anything to hurt them, but he no longer connects with them. He has no ties, no emotions, and no reasons to live.
Thinking it is their fault that he left, the campers and gods search everywhere for him. Zeus hates the fact he cannot find Perseus and wants him back in case another war would start to brew. The rest have finally done what Perseus has wanted for the longest time, become a family. His message even got through to the Olympian King and no more demigods have popped up unless they belong to a god or goddess who is not bound in holy matrimony.
I hope you enjoyed the introduction, ZanktheGreat !!!!!!
