His Watcher
Okay, I am trying to update more now that the pressure is letting up a little. I still have a quiz today, but I am hoping I do well on it. So, life goes on. Here you go, my lovely readers!
Point of View: Artemis
I am surprised he fell asleep so soon after arguing. Perhaps he needs this. Should I wake him for the meeting at all? His presence is no longer guarded, but vulnerable. He looks so small from here, but he is not. He radiates peace now, instead of the anguish roiling inside like before.
I should not disturb him, but he can always fall back asleep some other time. I hope he sleeps soundly for now, then. The meeting should not take long, especially after we reveal him. I just hope my family does not give him too much trouble.
I focus, but am unable to see his dreams.
Then he is not so vulnerable as I thought. What blocks me? It feels like him, however, he seems to be perfectly unaware.
He is nearly unable to feel any sort of emotions. I feel as if he will try, though. I believe he will be a difficult person for all of us to get used to and he seems ready enough to come into our lives. I most likely sprung this on him far too soon and gave him little time to choose. He...did not hesitate to agree once my reasons were on the table. He was surprised, however, when his shadows disappeared. It might have came as a shock.
I see the damage being in the dark has done to him. He is a tender soul and he wants to love someone, but is afraid to open up all over again. It is in his words, his actions, everything about him. The fear he told Phoebe was more of a hint to his real fear. He is a loving soul and now he is frightened of the thing that makes him whole. Something took it away from him.
Or someone...
Some Odd Time Later
I come over to Ánemos and place my hand on his shoulder, making him come alive. His hand strikes out and wraps around my throat. His eyes flash behind the shadows his hood provides, wild and lost. I gently move my hand up his arm and onto his hand.
Point of View: Ánemos
Her hand travels slowly and smoothly up to my hand and her fingers lace through mine. I release my grip and my control, allowing her to take my hand in hers and remove it from her neck. She sits next to me and my eyes refocus as my daze leaves me.
"You are very instinctual and it protects you always, even in your sleep." She comments lightly.
"Viewing my dreams is not a wise decision." I reply and my eyes meet hers, but she is not captured by them, she cannot see them.
"Your eyes are mesmerizing. I saw them when you woke up." She smiles some.
"Mesmerizing?" I frown. "I do not advise it, Artemis."
Point of View: Artemis
My eyes widen as he follows my mind's track.
He leans closer to me and his lips press against mine.
Point of View: Ánemos
I pull away from her and she looks stunned. "I can no longer pour my feelings into actions, but in battle and I have not fought in years. I have remained a peaceful entity and I accepted your offer knowing I would have to pick up my sword again. Do not fall for me, I cannot return whatever feelings you foster and I will not be responsible for a broken heart. Mine is enough to handle." I rise and she watches me closely.
Point of View: Artemis
He does not realize it. I could feel love in the way his lips moved against mine.
"Do not tempt me in such a way that I break everything inside." He says and I blink. "We will not survive."
Why must he hide behind his mask? His hood?
"Are you ready, then?" I ask, standing up and leading him outside.
"I am." He answers, bowing his head.
"Then let us go." I smile.
So, you guys really want Pertimis, but I do not plan on making Percy love anyone. Enjoy, my lovely readers!
