My eyes fly open as my bedroom door slams into my wall. Draco sits up faster and his wand is pointed at the intruder before I get the chance.

"Why are you so dumb Granger?!" Fred exclaims storming into my room.

"Why are you standing Weasley? Get your butt back to bed before I tell George that you are awake." I reply allowing myself to sink back into my pillows.

"You should not have put yourself in danger to save me! They need you to win this war!"

I sit in silence for a moment. "What happened last night?" I ask almost in a whisper.

Fred looks lost in his own mind before he sets himself at the foot of my bed with his head in his hands. I untangle myself from my covers as I go to sit by him. Draco waves to me as he leaves the room. Giving us a moment alone.

"As soon as our feet hit the ground they started throwing spells. It was mainly, my parents and Percy. Charlie and Bill weren't there. It took a few minutes before more Order members started apparating in to help. Kingsley, Sirius, Remus, and Andromeda. Ron managed to set fire to the burrow, but I don't think I will ever be able to get the face he made as he did it out of my head. Ginny stunned mum but there were still too many. Ron was fairing the best but he has been working longer on darker more powerful magic. I recognized one of the spells Andromeda threw at Ginny from one of the books here. I jumped in the way and that is how I got that injury. That is the last thing I can remember before I woke up in my bed with George explaining that you healed me."

"I knew they shouldn't have sent you on that mission! I told them you guys would get hurt! They almost killed you!"

Fred sits quietly I can see the silent war happening in his head before he finally asks the question. "Why didn't you tell us everything that happened when they caught you guys at Grimmauld?"

I flinch as the memory resurfaces in my head. We had only told the twins and Ginny that I had been hit by the Cruciatus curse which is not the full story. "How did you find out?"

"Percy started taunting us while we were fighting. Talking about how he brought the Golden Trio and the Slytherin Prince to their knees. He went into great detail" Fred grinds his teeth as he goes on. His cheeks flush red and he glares holes into my red curtains.

"We didn't want to make things worse for you," I finally answer, "We thought you three would be able to handle it better if you thought that I was just hit by a spare curse instead of being tortured in front of everyone at the hands of your brother."

"You don't have to protect us if anyone knows about how sadistic my brother is it's me." The faraway look in his eye scares me. The lack of jokes and pranks recently has been a telltale sign that the twins are going through something serious.

"Talk to me whenever you want. I know this is the one thing you will not go to George about because he will start to feel guilty. I don't know how it feels to lose your brother like this but I know how it feels to be betrayed by someone you trust."

It only takes one tear sliding down his face before I wrap my arms around him. He buries his head into my neck and clings to me like I'm his last lifeline. I can feel his body shaking as his pent up emotions come pouring out.

"Now you have to go back to pranking people. If one of the Malfoys in this household don't wake up with Gryffindor red hair tomorrow I am going to be peeved"

I feel him choke on his own laughter as it cuts through his tears. He's going to be alright.

Later that day after training I'm laying on the library floor with a book floating above my head so I can read about some of the darkest spells ever created as assigned by Bellatrix. Harry is asleep in the chair next to me and Ron is putting small pieces of paper in Harry's hair to entertain himself since he already read the assigned reading. How the tables have turned.

I look up as the Dark Lord and Lucius walk in. Ron moves to bow as I move my book to block their faces. I don't forgive easily.

"Really Miss Granger?" Lucius sighs. Annoyance, evident in his voice.

I ignore him as I use my wand to turn to the next page of the book I am reading. Humming a nonsensical tune as I do so.

Ron's laughter sounds from behind me. "She is not going to listen to what you have to say until you apologize and admit that you are wrong."

I smirk as I turn to the next page in my book. A snore from Harry cuts through the silence. The boy could sleep through a war.

"I will not admit something that is untrue. I made a decision that resulted in an injury but was better for the greater good" The Dark Lord growls.

With a slight flick of my wrist, the vase behind them explodes into a million tiny pieces. Lucius jumps but the Dark Lord just looks angry. He takes a threatening step forward.

"Touch her and I'll kill you" Harry growls without even opening his eyes. "Just tell her she was right, because she was, and get this over with. Or did you forget that I am the only one who can kill you and you put my girlfriend in unnecessary danger?"

"Fine" the Dark Lord hisses "Miss Granger, I made a mistake. I should have listened to your input."

I smirk as I set my book down and sit up. "Was that really so difficult?"

He glares at me but my smirk never wavers. He does not scare me.

"Now what did you two want?"

"You three are going on a mission tomorrow along with Draco and Theodore. You will be raiding Andromeda's now-abandoned mansion. But do not underestimate the spells that still remain. We need you five to find some powerful Black family heirlooms that we believe to be in her possession" Lucius says.

"We will succeed" Harry replies a dark smile on his now awake face.
