Nigerian festival dresses

Doma POV

"LEADERSHIP IS NOT ABOUT TAKING CHARGE BUT IT IS ABOUT CARING FOR THOSE WHO YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF..."

I guess I was right after all my doubting. Today was different because it felt different, it looked different in the sense I never thought Dera could look better-looking but for Mama, she was stunning even without trying but as for Dera maybe a little effort could be added.

Mama wore a white laced gown that captured her essence and charm so faultlessly, she wore her normal wedged elevated slipper.

Mamas outfits!!

Her footwear

Sincerely, it was hard to stop gazing at her.

Dera wore a red Ankara dress, sleeveless as it excellently aligned to her thin waist as it flowed down though it had left silt in front up to her upper thigh respected by her feet was a pair of gold penciled heels.

Dera's outfit!✨

Papa went out earlier in the morning, and at the sound of the cock cries he was awake. I noticed his steps and his normal routine.

Straight to the bathroom for fifteen minutes max, then with steam evolved from his body, he ties a loose towel around his waist walking leisurely to his room to dress up.

Right after, he wore his exceptional army outfit before leaving.

Christian was dressed in black denim up and down native with little-edged gold touching that framed the interweaving design of the neck region as the black round hat he wore added to his sophisticated appearance complimenting the gold wristwatch and chain he wore.

Christian's outfit!

Saving the best for the last, I was dressed in a black top that half had geometrical shapes and designs with intricate gold embroidery with a simple black trouser.

A sentence used to describe me is

Simple but classiness.

Austere but elegance.

It wasn't called the Red Smoked Festival for nothing after all.

After having breakfast of custard and akara, trust me it's very delicious especially when I have that little spice of motherly love.

Right after, dera decided to take some photos, we walked to the Josiah Market Square, which is the largest market square in Khari town. It was named after our former king,

Josiah Hale.

He was one of the best kings, khari could ever have but the mystery and rumor of his death remain pointless gossip. It was never defined of what killed him and as time passed on, his story began to fade like an overused doll a baby finds unessential.

He helped the community in any way he could, coming over sometimes to help villagers with their farms. Helping the women to fetch water from the well back safely to their homes.

There was an evening he came to my neighborhood when I was much younger on special days.

He would tell us, moonlight tales, and back then, they sounded so authentic making me believe all imagination was only limited by the way you think.

He built this market square for the people of Khari town to always gather when he had events of varieties for us. I will always look forward to those when I was little.

The market square was filled! Different dressing and attire not to talk more about the stalls and the aromatic flavors of foods crossing my nose that it about to fall off.

Women and men, boys and girls all having a good time as the royal instrumentalist, played their heavy, bassed drums with so much force it was hard not to dance.

Alicia and Letica outfits!!!

For those that don't know they are his cousins and they are twins

Aunty Natalie's outfit!✨

The red-fired smoke burning in the middle of the square was beautiful. The red flame consumed everything that dared prey on its path, and looking into the fire fascinated me.

The way it burns, the way it never lets anything control it, the way it moves to its beat and rhythm never respecting the lyrics of the atmosphere that was out to quench it.
