A compromise, that failed
Ever seen a little girl,
With a happy face?
That's a stupid question.
Let me reframe the case.
Ever seen something beyond the façade,
That hides the ugliest of truths?
Probably no,
Because the cover of the mischief is quite enticing.
Ever seen beyond the bright smile,
Fiery eyes, sweetest voice?
They may have come after crying ugly sobs,
Teary eyes, hoarse noise.
Ever seen beyond those kind words,
That made her look like a benevolent girl?
Maybe it's her envy she's tryna mask,
From the beings who are quick to judge.
Ever known how it feels like to be a burden,
A shitload of liability and guilt?
Maybe it's because of the unpleasant decision,
Which were made for her!
Ever felt the desire to get back in time,
Stop it, or just change the series of events?
Maybe it's because of the drear of being alive,
Although on the inside, she feels dead.
Ever known how it feels to be shattered,
Wrecked, humiliated, unwanted all at once?
It's the suffocating life that she lead.
It's the painful reality that she lived in.
But on one fine evening,
When the sun was setting down,
And birds were chirping themselves to sleep,
She arranged herself some cables,
Strong enough to anchor her hope and her weight.
After all, she was a compromise, that failed.
