Story of Fate

They arrived at the medical room. The door was a jar and Jeff pushed it open with no hesitation. Luna stood there taking it in. The room had changed since their last trip to the room. The silver table she once sat upon was now shimmering with crimson liquid, which could only be massive amounts of blood. She stood there frozen in the doorway. Jeff looked back at her.

"You look like you have never seen blood before."

"I mean I have... But not in mass quantities like this!" Luna proclaimed and motioned at the table. She caught the glimpse of a shadow at the counter near the table. Jeff brushed her off and walked over the shadowy figure and began talking to it. She just stood in the doorway feeling more nervous because of the blood rather than the shadowed person. Jeff walked back over to her.

"Jack here is going to be fixin' you up. Finally I can get something done." He said and left her standing in the doorway. The shadowed figure motioned her to enter. She froze for a moment, she could feel her heart thumping hard in her chest and her lungs contracting.

"I'm only going to say this once... Come in and shut the door." The figure spoke in a slightly deep voice that was strangely familiar and soothing. She did as she was told and walked into the room closing the door behind her. Her brain was trying to piece together her shards of memories she had of the voice. She could barely make out who it was within her memories.

"I feel like.... We have met already."

"Well that's because we have. Now sit on the table, I will check you in a moment." She looked at the table and shivered a bit but walked over to it. She peeked at what the man was doing and saw a white cooler with small streaks of red on it that were slowly turning a brownish shade. A cold chill made its way through her spine.

"D...do I have to sit on the table?" She asked really not wanting to sit in a puddle of blood.

"Yes." He replied with a slight chill to his voice. She clenched her teeth and hopped up onto the table feeling the slight stickiness of the blood as it was drying. The figure disappeared behind a sheet of hanging plastic and a few moments came back. All she really saw was the blue of his mask. The color triggered images in her brain but the signals were confusing and jumbled.

"So... Um.. Humor me, but how do I know you? I can't seem to remember." She said nervously as she tried to put pressure on her right hand, but was quickly deterred form sharp pains from all the cuts and glass in her hand. He walked over to her and grabbed her arm by the wrist. His grasp was firm but not painful.

"Well, we have met a few times in... well... not particularly good occasions. I patched your eye there and cared for you while you were comatose." He said as he examined the wounds and shook his head. He grabbed a pair of tweezers from a small metal table and began pulling out shards of broken glass from her hand. He proceeded to pour rubbing alcohol over her hand causing her to wince in pain before he grabbed the needle and stitch up a few sever cuts.

"Also, when you were on the roof in the rain... By the way, do I even want to know how you got glass in your hand or why I see Jeff's amateur stitch work on your other arm?" She laughed nervously.

"Ahhhhh... Probably not... Let's Just say the window was not spared." She watched him shake his head again as he walked over to a cabinet that was above the counter. He pulled out two rolls of gauze wrap and some pads. He walked back to her and placed pads on her hand and wrapped in with the gauze. The wrap ended at just below her elbow. He motioned for her to give him her other arm. She hesitantly gave it to him. He examined the stitches.

"You aren't going to redo them, are you?" She asked not wanting to go through that pain again.

"No... It seems Jeff isn't as incompetent as he may seem." He wrapped up the arm and motioned her to get up.

"Now you can leave, I am rather hungry and would like to eat in peace." She nodded and hopped off the table her hand feeling sore. She left the room closing the door behind her. She walked down the hall and felt a strange wetness on the back of her pants and the shivered remembering she was just sitting in blood. She dashed to the stairs and ran up them passing Masky down the hall which her room was down. She didn't stop to talk as she slid in front of her door and then darted into the room closing the door behind her and flicked the switch filling her room with a pale-yellow light. She walked over to her bed and opened the backpack the sat on it. Pulling out a black skirt with crimson leggings and a black turtleneck whit the shoulder cut out. She sighed hating the fact the she had to yet change again within a few hours. She stripped off her blood splotched clothes. She shivered again at the feeling of cold congealing blood. She quickly got dressed in her fresh clothes and set the blood covered ones in a corner of her room for now. She laid down in the bed wanting the night to end already. She was tired but couldn't manage to close her eyes. The night itself felt like it was dragging on forever. Luna was getting lost in old memories of her times with her old friend Jasmine, but a knock on her bedroom door pulled her out of the memories.

"Yea? Who's there?" She asked knowing it didn't really matter because it could just be another hallucination. The door opened and Fate walked into the room closing the door behind her.

"So... I just heard what happened... I mean what brought you here... and I wanted to apologize if I said anything. Luna shook her head/

"If your boss sent you, you can tell him I wasn't offended."

"No! No... he didn't send me. I came of my own accord... I thought you might be interested in why me and my sister are here." Luna sat up curiously.

"Only if you are willing enough to want to share." Fate nodded and sat on Luna's bed and took a deep breath.

"This is kind of a long story so are you sure."

"Of course. I have nothing better to do." Luna replied with a smile. Fate exhaled and brushed her hands against her skirt as she began to tell her story to Luna.

"Well it all began when I was made. My creator made me as an alternative twin for his daughter who seemed to be very depressed and alone. As you can see Karma and I are extremely different but also vaguely similar. I wasn't born like you or Karma or even brought into this world like Slendy. I was made by the fusion of Karma's cells with added mutations. It's hard to explain when I hardly know it. My first memory of this world is when I emerged from an aquarium like box. I was confused and dazed, but that didn't last too long..." Luna watched as Fate twiddled her thumbs in a nervous motion. Luna could tell that Fate was on the brink of wanting to cry. She opened her mouth but was stopped when Fate's hand waved her not to talk.

"After I emerged my creator wanted to show me to his daughter, I was still confused and didn't feel like it would be a good idea, but I stayed silent. He kneeled down to me and told me his name... If I remember it was Cain, Biblical I now right, but after he told me his name he showed me a picture of a small girl with long pale pink hair and told me her name was Karma. All I could do was look at him confused. He told me I was her Twin and showed me a mirror. I saw myself for the first time, my hair was long and pale blue but my complexion matched hers we both looked like ghost. My creator, Cain... He gave me a pretty pinkish white dress and helped me put it on. I could feel something boiling in me but could figure out what it was, I know today it was the beginning of my insanity. He took me back to his home to meet his daughter. When she saw me she looked more terrified than thrilled which made me feel a bit sad. Her father said to her 'This is your new sister Fate. You won't be alone anymore Karma.' Karma was silent, but she eventually came around and started to talk to me... But soon my skin grew dark and my hair started falling out. Her father took me away back to the lab to experiment with my genes. I don't know exactly what he did but it broke me. When he was done my hair and skin was back to normal, mostly. I was paler and my hair was brighter. He wanted to 'Perfect' me and I didn't understand I told him I thought I was perfect already in his daughter's image and I thought he loved me. He shook his head and told me "You are a simple creation to entertain my daughter while I work, nothing more and nothing less.' That statement broke me but on the inside. I began laughing and crying at the same time. I lost control of myself. I pulled off my restraints... They were made of steel... One of Cain's assistants came in to sedate me but I broke their hand and jammed the needle into their eye... I killed them and turned to Cain. I was still laughing as blood dripped from my face. He didn't look scared just disappointed and that fueled my rage towards him. I hated what he had made me and that he was now disappointed. While we stared at each other I felt I sharp pain in my neck and after that it all went black.... My whole existence was now changing." Fate paused for a moment as she seemed to be gathering her thoughts and memories.

"Fate, you don't have to tell me if you don't-." Luna was interrupted my Fate.

"I said I did... I just need a moment." Luna nodded and waited for Fate to regain her baring. Fate had regained herself and started telling her story again.

"When I woke up there was a pain going through my head and I couldn't see too well. I tried to lift my arms but a stabbing and ripping pain came from them. I realized I was trapped and began screaming and heard that they were muffled. This got me angry and that's when HE entered. The only thing I saw was darkness. You may be thinking this is When I met dear old Slender.... But you would be wrong. I met Zalgo first. He took that shape of my creator and knelled in front of me and clicked his tongue in disappointment. 'You are going to be a great weapon, but first you need to learn not to bite the hand that feeds.' He said to me and this confused me. He was holding a blackened steel needle and then he shoved into my arms near my elbow. It pierced through my wrists, I tried to lunge at him but I was alone again in a white room. That's when the real Cain entered through a door I could not see. The look of disgust on his face broke my heart into a million pieces. I thought he was my father but he looked at me like I was a monster. He pointed to a mirrored window I didn't see. When I saw my reflection, I felt a manic anger fill my soul. The reflection showed a girl bound in heavy duty metal clap like cuffs. They were covering my legs and were merged in the centered and melted to the ground. The ones around my arms looked like the ones of a dangerous convict, bit a metal ran through them and my arms. My face was masked vertical slits over the mouth and a single hole for one of my eyes. There were two other rods through my arms one in my elbow area and one in the middle on my biceps. Chains dangled around me from my cuffs to the wall. Two chains were pierced through my shoulders and were rigged to the wall behind me. I looked like a monster being caged because it was dangerous. This made my anger boil over and I began yelling. 'You cage me! Hurt Me! But You Made Me This Way! This Is All Your Fault!' My screams were slightly muffed but the echoed off the white walls. He just stared at me, no word, nothing but his disgusted stare. I pulled trying to free myself but the pain was just too much for me. I could feel myself wanting to cry out for Karma who was now the only person I knew I could trust. It was strange I thought I could hear her voice in my head telling me she could hear my cries and she was coming for me in the night when father was asleep. She had seen a tall man who said he could help us. I was confused but took her words inside my head as her own. She never broke a promise to me and she wasn't about to start. I watch as Cain left the room slamming the door behind. I felt like a failed creation that would be left to rot even though Karma said she would come for me. Time seemed to drag and hour felt like a day. I feel asleep in my position tired from the pain and strain of trying to escape. I was awoken by metal creaking and air blowing on my legs. My eyes opened I was barely able to make out Karma's shape. She held up a key and whispered to me. 'I am getting you out sister. Please be still this may hurt a bit.' She unlocked the cuffs around my arms the pins pulled apart and they fall off. My arms and hands were bloody. I pulled my arms apart to loosen the needles in my upper arms. I was able to eventually grab them and pull them out. It was what I thought was going to be the most painful thing every but then I felt the tugging of the chains in my shoulders and the pain in through my head was back. Karma read her hand towards something at the side of my head but I stopped her and felt for it myself. There was a rod going through my head. I told her we would get it out after the shoulder chains. She did her best to loosen the chains but it wasn't good enough. I had no choice but to rip them out... and I did... then I ripped out the rod in my head trying my best not to scream but I could not hold back the pain filled tears. Karma helped my get out of the room. My blood was smearing the white walls, but she kept pushing me to the door when we finally got out of that room we were stopped by the labs guards. 'Karma, get away from that monster.' They ordered her but she stood by me and nudged me. She knew I could do something... but I don't think she expected what was coming next. I was somehow able to manifest two whips out of thin air. The tendrils of the whips fell to the floor of the lap sharp thorns protruded from them. I was smiling for I had waited for a long time to be free. The next thing I remember is wrapping my whips around two of the guards. I pulled on them as the thorns began to pierce the flesh of their necks. Karma looked at them then me and pulled me away causing me to drop the whips. The guards fell to the floor and seemed to freeze there. I could feel the terror coming from them but they weren't looking at me anymore. I realize Karma had stopped and was staring at the guards. Her eyes were glowing a bright blue color and it kind of scared me but I was already a monster, so I pulled her away and told her that we needed to find a way out. She simply nodded at me and began leading me again. We worked our way through the lab and ran out a set of glass doors into the street. I had never been outside often, even when I was with Karma, we stayed inside for the most part. It was dark outside and I had no idea where she was talking me only that she knew where she was going and I didn't. I watched as Karma looked around franticly in the darkness, she was trying to find something but I didn't know what. She finally pulled my arm and lead me away from the building. There was a small forested area near and it appeared that was where Karma was taking me. I remember there being a hard tug on my hair and my hand snapped out of Karma's. I saw her face and in her eyes, I could see the reflection of her father... my creator. 'Karma this girl is dangerous.' He said to Karma as he held me away from her by my hair. Every time I reached out for her he tugged harder on my hair to keep me away from her. The next think I knew Karma threw something to me. I don't remember what it was, but it was sharp. I used it to cut my hair and then I sliced at Cain... but he was gone. Me and Karma were alone in the woods. I don't remember how we got there... One minute I was about to kill the man who created me and the next we were there. It was insane, but so was my entire existence. A tall man appeared before us and I readied myself to defend Karma. She was my prime reason for existing now and I wouldn't let anything hurt her, but Karma extended and arm in front of me as if to tell me it was okay and not to attack. She addressed the man as if he were an old friend. I was wondering if this was who she had told me about earlier. 'Who is this?' I remember asking Karma. She told me that the figure was going to help us... Mainly me... Because of the gene mutations there was something...Wrong... with me. Something was wrong with Karma too. I was made as her twin, so the only way I could be gifted with the abilities I had is if Karma had some that were similar. I was jarred from my thinking when a deep voice echoed in my head, and because of Karma's face I knew she heard it too. 'You two were destined for this. Do not fear the things you feel that you do not know. I will show you how to use the gifts you have.' It said to us. 'What about the black and red man?' I remember saying. The figure shook its head 'He is evil, stay clear of him.'. From that day forward we were trained shown how to handle the things we were.... The monster's we had become... That I had become... With every victory, I was pushed further and further to the brink of madness...... and I loved it. I was made into what you see today. Crafted into this... this thing." Fate fell silent and stared down at her own hands.

"I barely remember much of anything anymore... My memories are a jumbled mess of images and sounds that don't always fit together. Luna... Keep your humanity as long as you can. You may have a destiny here you have to follow, but don't let that change you, cause that one change could send your path down a darker road than you may be ready for. We share that in common." Fate stood up from the bed and Luna could sense a sadness coming from her. She knew parts of her story were missing, but maybe it was for a good reason.

"Thank you Fate, but you are not a monster. You are just a girl... who was forced into embracing what she had to become, but that doesn't make you the monster. Cain made you this way. It's his fault... he's the monster." Fate seemed to tense up but shook her head.

"I could have changed... But I didn't now look where that got me and my sister..." Fate walked out of the room leaving Luna slightly confused. Something was wrong and she knew it, but she could not probe Fate because the parts she told were emotionally stressful for her to remember. The pain and fear she could feel from Fate was enormous. She watched as her bedroom door shut slowly. The image of Fate disappearing behind it. She was alone once more to ponder her own choices that she knew she would eventually have to make.
