The Flashback
Gabriel just looked empty inside. He got sucked into a flashback when he did a school play and everyone applauded. Everyone teased him for being nerdy. Gabriel was a mystery waiting to be cracked. Gabriel was looking around at the audience but only saw bright lights. "I need you to take me away, take me away! I want you to take me away! I'm crazy and out of my mind! I need you to see how I am really kind-" Gabriel sang his final number. He was close to tears. This play wore him out.
After the show was over he saw Sam waiting for him near the backstage exit door. "Sam, what are you doing here-" Gabriel says. Sam smiles at him.
"I saw the show. Why else would I be here?" Gabriel let out an awkward chuckle. "Ah, sorry. I'm just tired." Sam stares at Gabriel. "C'mon." He leads Gabriel out of the auditorium. Gabriel just stared at their hands and gulped. Sam had his own car. Since Dean and Castiel had moved out of the house, his parents had managed to buy him his own car. Sam always grew up in his brother's Impala and it was time for a change. His parents kept the Impala in storage. Gabriel had been getting bad treatment at home from Lucifer and them.
Gabriel got beatings every night and stood up for Castiel. He was almost there to having enough money to move out. Lucifer still blamed Gabriel for letting Castiel getaway and their mother and father were very displeased with him as well. "Where are we going, Sam?" Gabriel asks. Sam didn't answer and kept leading him. Music played in Gabriel's head of (I Just) Died in Your Arms Tonight by the Cutting Crew. He got lost in the moment. Sam soon was staring at Gabriel. "Helllloooo?" He waved a hand over Gabriel's face. "You there, Gabe?" Gabriel blushed at the nickname and fixed his pants. "Here." He cleared his throat. "Now what were you saying?" Gabriel asks Sam.
"I said, 'how have you been?'" Sam repeats. Gabriel chuckles. "I've been fine, Sam. Why are you acting so weird? Is it because Dean's gone with my brother?" He saw Sam look down with a sad look. "Oh... OH... I'm sorry, Sam. Are you- are you lonely?" He asks. Sam nods. "Something like that." Sam ran a hand over his face. Gabriel nods silently. "I'm sorry... I didn't-"
"Shut up," Sam says. Gabriel eyed him. "You're the one who's keeping me here! And you're the one who wanted to talk, Mr. Nice Guy!" Gabriel stood up defensively. Sam sighs. "Fuck," Sam whispered. "Sit down, Gabriel. I- sorry."
"It's been hard since Dean went with Castiel," Sam says. Gabriel nods, "I know what you mean... It's not exactly peaches and pears at my house." Sam saw Gabriel lookup. Gabriel sighs. "So that's it? We just are talking about you missing your brother? I miss mine too. Nothing's been the same since he got kicked out." He explains. Sam kept silent to know he was listening and thinking. Gabriel saw his brother text him just then saying, "Reached another state!" Gabriel sighs again. Sam went over to Gabriel.
Gabriel was confused by his approach before he knew it, Sam was hugging him. Gabriel cries as now they started to talk the truth. Sam was just nice and listened. "Why are you telling me this now, Gabe?" Sam frowns as he pulled back a bit. "Because.... oh, I don't know, Sam..." Gabriel hung his head. Sam frowns even more. "My parents aren't getting along with each other. My mom is filing for divorce and trying to keep me and my brother. I'm scared." He says honestly. Gabriel frowns. "Oh, Sam, I'm so sorry." He whispers. Gabriel was so close to kissing Sam out of emotional feelings at this moment. He was so close before he pulls back. "See you, Sam." He says. "Wait! Gabe!" Sam says before Gabriel was running home. Gabriel was scared for Sam to find out he was gay or worse had feelings for him. Gabriel cried when he got home. "I'm so stupid," he whispered.
