Chapter Twenty Nine
It felt like only a few minutes that we had been asleep and I heard a knock on the door.
"We will be landing in about thirty minutes. Time to get up and get situated." Damian says as he opens the door.
"Thanks man. We will be out in a little bit." I answer.
I sit up and slowly try to wake up my princess. I run my hand softly up and down her arm as I place kisses along her neck and cheek.
"Princess, it's time to wake up. We're almost home."
"MMMmm"
"We are almost home and we need to get in our seats."
"I don't want to."
"C'mon, you can have me all to yourself when we get home. I will not be letting you out of my sight for a long time."
"Mmmmm, I kinda like that idea." She stretches as she rolls over to face me. I see the bruising on her face and the swollen lip. My heart breaks, seeing her injured. I slowly pull her into me softly kissing her face.
"Are you awake, love?"
"Yes." she says as she sits up and we both climb out of the bed and head to the front of the cabin where Damian is sitting. We sit down in the chairs together. I put my arm around her shoulders and pulled her into me and kissed the top of her head.
"I love you, princess."
"I love you too, tough guy."
"How are you feeling, Riley?" Damian asks.
"A little sore, and tired, but so thankful you all came to save me. I don't know what would have happened if I was there any longer."
"I will always fight for family, Ri." Damian says.
I see her smile and it is one of the best things. I will do anything to make her smile from now on. Soon after we hear over the intercom that they are starting their descent and we are soon landed, taxiing to the hangar. Once we quit moving and they opened the cabin doors, I picked up Riley and carried her to the suv. I sat her down in the passenger seat, and went to grab the bags and throw them in the car. Damian grabs the rest and throws them in the back with the rest. He climbs in the back seat and we head home. The ride home is a comfortable silence. I feel like some of the weight has been lifted from my shoulders. It still pains me that I failed in keeping her safe again, and I have broken my promise. Why can't I keep her safe? I am lost in my thoughts as we finally pull into the driveway and park. Looking over to my princess, I see she is fast asleep. I go around to her side and quietly open the door and slowly pick her up, trying not to wake her. Damian opens the door and I carry her towards our room. Cas hears us come in and quickly runs to meet us.
"Oh my gosh! You finally found her. Is she okay?"
"She is fine. Just some bruising. I'm going to take her up to our room so she can rest."
"I will talk to her when she wakes."
"Now you can rest too, my love." Damian says as he walks up and kisses her cheek.
"Yes, I can. My bestie is home safe."
"Did you get O'Malley?" Alex asks as he walks out from the kitchen, as usual he has something he is eating.
"No, he got away from us, that slimy little weasel." Damian says gritting his teeth.
"I'm just glad everyone is finally home safe and sound." Alex says with a smile.
I hear everyone talking as I bring my girl to our room and place her on the bed and climb in behind her. Pulling her into me and wrapping my arms around her I fall asleep.
"Aaahh, no, stop! Get away from me!"
I am startled awake as I hear Riley screaming and thrashing in her sleep. She is violently thrashing and she is covered in sweat. I try to gently wake her and it doesn't work. I pull her back to my front and hold her as I gently rub her hair as I whisper into her ear trying to wake her up. After a few seconds she stops flailing and I feel her body shake as she sobs.
"Oh Marc, I am so sorry."
"Don't be sorry, princess. You have been through so much in the last couple weeks. Just relax. I have you. You are safe. I love you so much."
"I love you too."
She slowly falls back asleep and soon I follow behind her.

Riley's POV
The sun is shining through the curtains and I slowly stretch and open my eyes. For a second my anxiety is through the roof until I realize I am home and in our bed. I turn to look and his side of the bed is empty. Again I have to calm my nerves, he is only downstairs, not far from me. After a few moments there is a soft knock at the door.
"Come in."
The door slowly opens and in walks Cas. She walks over to me rubbing her baby bump. I have missed a lot. Her belly has grown. A tear falls from my cheek and she sits next to me.
"How are you feeling, bestie?
"As good as can be expected. How are you feeling?"
"I'm doing well. I can kinda feel him or her move. It's weird, kinda like a flutter." She laughs.
"Do you know what you're having yet?"
"No, we have an appointment today. Hopefully he or she cooperates. We want to have a gender reveal. I am so glad you're back. I didn't want to do this without you."
"Aww, I wouldn't miss this."
She pulls me into a hug and we both start crying. Just then Marc walks through the door with a breakfast tray.
"I will see you later. We have got to leave soon."
"Okay, bestie. See you later."
She slowly gets up and walks out. Marc comes over and sits the tray beside me as he crawls onto the bed with me.
"How are you doing this morning, princess?"
"I'm doing better with more sleep. My face and lip are killing me though. Did you get that bastard?"
"No, he got away somehow. We will get him though. Don't worry about it. I am not leaving your side for a while."
The breakfast was amazing, eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns, and coffee. I don't know if it's because I didn't have this for almost a month or if he is a fabulous cook. I think it's a little of both. He has told me that today I am to rest and stay in bed. He will be waiting on me hand and foot, and I am not to lift a finger for anything. It has been a few hours and Cas and Damian come into the room.
"How did the visit go?" I ask.
"It went great. The doctor said everything is good and we are right on track. We are both healthy." Cas says with a smile.
"So did you find out?" Marc asks as he comes in behind them.
"Yep, and here is the envelope, Riley. No one is to know until the reveal." Damian says as he hands the envelope to me.
"Awe, come on man. I can't even know?"
"Nope, I want it to be a surprise."
"You have no faith in me?"
"Not when it comes to certain secrets."
Marc just rolls his eyes and Damian laughs. Then Alex comes in, feeling like he is missing out.
"What's so funny in here?" he asks.
"Just Damian doesn't trust Marc with the baby secret." I say trying to hold back a laugh.
"Whaaat? You found out, so what is it?"
"Nope, no one will know until the gender reveal." I say shaking my head.
"Not fair!"
"Don't put, it doesn't look good on you."
He stomps a foot and heads out of the room. We all start laughing at him as he leaves.
"I heard that! You are all rude!"
Which makes us all laugh harder.
"So we were thinking maybe doing a gender reveal at Thanksgiving. I will be about seven months then." Cas says.
"That would be a great idea. It could also be a baby shower too. It will be so much fun!"
"Don't go too extravagant. We don't need anything."
"You hush and let me plan."
"Alright girl, but you need to rest. We have a lot of time."
