  Louis's P.O.V

I hated seeing my best friend like this. And knowing that there was absolutely nothing in my power that I could do to save him, to make things alright, literally killed me.

We had called the cops last night, and they were currently on the hunt looking for Darcy. The story wasn't supposed to leak at all, but somehow everyone had found out about this, and everyone around the world had been tuning in to their televisions to hear all about that tragic story behind Darcy Monroe.

I knocked gingerly on Harry's door, which was closed and locked. He had been there ever since he was pulled off of Darcy, when he realized there was nothing he could do. It hurt all of us that we couldn't do anything about it. There was someone we loved out there in trouble, in great peril, and all we could do is sit around and hope for the best. Fate had taken hold of the situation, and we all were expecting the worst.

"H-Harry? Can I come in?" I whispered, my ear pressed against the door hard so I couldn't miss a single sound. In response, all I could hear was the creaking of his bed, and after that I was faced with dead silence. I knew he wouldn't open the door, not even for his Boobear.

"Can I get you something?" I called out. I felt like I was just rambling on to myself, when, in truth, I actualy was. I was so scared that we would lose Harry completely after this if we couldn't find her. I wondered what was worse; knowing she's out there or knowing she's dead and gone?

"We're leaving, Harry. You can't stay in there forever." I said firmly, trying a new approach. And it was true; we were getting back in the bus and all the girls were going to come join us in a search party. Even Tiff was coming along, and at the moment she was probably boarding her plane frantically.

"And what if I do, Louis? Who are you to stop me?" Harry roared from inside the room, taking me aback. I definitely wasn't expecting this from him. Normally when there was something on Harry's mind or when he was upset he was like a frail child; and now he sounded like drunken mad Harry.

I was about to say something when the door opened wide and it crashed against the wall inside, revealing a half naked Harry wrapped up in one of his blankets his mum gave him. Underneath his eyes were dark circles, and his eyes were dark with fury. His hair was crazy, even crazy for his hair, and in a million tangles that Lou would have to put up with later.

"Get away." He growled, shoving himself past me and storming down the hall. I wanted to cry, Harry was never like this to me. I was always his Boobear, and he always was nice to me. Who knew that this would change him so drastically?

I stormed after him down the hall, wiping some tears from my cheeks. Before I could place a hand on his shoulder he grabbed my wrist and twisted it around. It was like he was Harry's evil clone or something, like someone had taken my best friend and replaced him with a complete and utter monster.

"Don't, Harry. We'll find her. But you can't do this." I said through my teeth. Harry lunged at me, but instead of hurting me he just shook my by my shoulders and let out an embarrassing sob. The normal Harry would hide his face if he ever did this in front of someone, even me, but this Harry just continued to cry.

"I could have done something! You don't get it, Lou! I could have saved her and I didn't! And now she's out there hurting or being murdered because I'm so stupid and this is all my fault!" He screamed, his face turning a bright red. This wasn't from embarrassment, however, this was from anger. Anger not towards me, but himself.

"Listen to me, Harry. He would have killed us all. There was nothing we could have done!" I yelled back.

"Liar! We shouldn't have even come here! Maybe if I stayed with her, maybe if I didn't come along with you boys a month ago and I stayed to help her she wouldn't be gone right now! Everything is so messed up and it's all my fault!"

By this time, the other boys had come out of the living room, where the local news was playing and replaying Darcy's story. Zayn's lips were tightened in a hard line. He wasn't much of a cry-er, and the way he dealt with things was the silent way, alone.

Niall, however, had completely lost it. His eyes were red, swollen, and puffy, and his body shook every time he cried. Liam hugged him and wiped his eyes a few times, and neither of them said a word. We just all rushed around Harry, who was crying with his eyes closed, not daring to face the world.

Paul had been gone from some time now, trying to track Vanessa down with his tracking device. Our other bodyguards were guarding the exits on our floors, and Lou and Lux had to leave for their safety. Everything was so screwed up right now, and all anyone wanted to do was go back in time to fix things, but we knew we couldn't and it pained us.

"Harry, listen bud. We'll get through this. Be strong for everyone and it'll all end soon." Zayn spoke up, his voice raspy. It took me a moment to realize that it was because he had been smoking, something that he admitted to quitting a month ago. But now old habits were kicking in, and the band One Direction was left in a torn up mess.

"When, Zayn? What if she never comes back and we never find her. I can't do this again." Harry cried, lying on the ground with his hands hiding his face. I was glad that we had rented a whole entire floor so people didn't witness Harry's meltdown, but now wasn't the time to think about that. We had to think about Harry and Darcy right now.

Liam had pulled out his cellphone and was dialing a number, and he soon excused himself from the hall. There was a cleaning maid who awkwardly passed by, but we ignored her. I wondered just how many girls were crowding in the lobby now, and assumed thousands of girls, which made me pity the workers here.

"I need to go find her." Harry said, finally gazing up at us. His eyes were bloodshot but determined, and he stood up and stormed back to his room. The other boys followed suit behind me as Harry led the way to his room, which was actually Darcy's but ever since she had been gone he moved his belongings and himself over to this room.

Inside, we found all of his things already packed adn neatly stacked by his bed. He had even backed Darcy's things next to his, and I wondered if he was trying to act as if she had never been gone in the first place. he draped her jacked across her things and finally dared to face us, and the pain in his eyes was unbearable.

There was nothing to say, so we helped grab his things and brought them into the main room. Zayn had run up ahead of us so that he could turn off the television, because nothing could hurt Harry more than to see Darcy's face on the news channel. That might just do it for him, and I don't know what Harry would do if he saw her face again.

"I can't do this." Harry cried out in frustration, throwing her bags on the floor. He slipped past me, down the hall, but this time nobody followed him. Here was this cheeky boy who I was so used to seeing happy and full of life, and now he was broken beyond repair. I never knew how powerful love was until today.

"Someone needs to follow him. Make sure he doesn't do anything." Liam croaked, and I watched as all six eyes glanced over at me. I just simply nodded before slowly following where Harry had gone, my heart ringing in my ears, my tears falling on the fancy carpet below me.

At the end of the hallway, I could see Harry descending down the main steps that led to the front desk. There was a sea of girls waiting for one of us to come down and see them, but when Harry came into view they grew silent. It surprised me, really, all I thought the fans were capable of was screaming.

Harry stomped down the stairs, and this time I didn't follow after him. I just watched as he kept getting closer and closer to the fans, who were all stopped by a roped off gate that the unhappy workers had probably set up only hours before.

Finally, I watched as Harry stopped, only five feet in front of them. For a moment there was pure silence throughout the whole lobby, and if someone were to drop a pin you could actually hear it clear as day. Nobody dared to do as much as cough or even sneeze, they all just stared wide-eyed at the Harry Styles that was a complete and unfamiliar stranger to them.

"I don't know." Harry began, finding strength in himself, but losing his voice before he could continue. He cleared his throat rather loudly, and it echoed through the spacious room. "- I don't know why you're all here today. There is nothing to see, and Dar-"

He had to stop again, because I could see his chin tremble furiously, and he clenched his jaw in attempt to stop it. He knew that the fans didn't like seeing him cry, and he knew that he had to come off as strong even though he was at his lowest and weakest state.

"Darcy isn't coming here.. You all need to go, now. There is nothing to see, now leave me alone." Harry said loud and clear, and there were some gasps in the room. I wasn't sure if Harry could even hear them, but he turned around to leap up the staircase as fast as he could, finally his eyes meeting mine.

"We'll find her." I whispered. His jaw was in a hard line, and I could tell that there as nothing that I could say to get through to him. Nothing at all could heal him except that one girl who this was all about:

  Darcy Mae Monroe.

And I had to vow to Harry that I would find her, and we would make sure that she was safe again. This all needed to end once and for all, although I wasn't exactly sure how to end it. I just hoped that somewhere, Nathan was watching the televisions and he finally came to his senses and would let the poor girl go. Because he was hurting everyone around him.

Harry ran up to me and gave me a big hug, in front of all of the girls. It took me by surprise a bit, but I didn't protest. Instead I hugged Harry right back, silently praying that the girls wouldn't be mislead and start in on all of the idiotic 'Larry Stylinson' drama, and that they could finally realize all that was between us was friendship.

Harry was my best friend, and as his best friend I had to be there for him. I had to help in every way possible to bring Darcy home to us. I let go of Harry and held out my pinkie in front of him. His expression was confused, but he locked his pinkie with mine anyhow.

"I pinkie promise that we will find Darcy Monroe."
