Chapter 1: Death and dreams
No one's Pov:
A seventeen year old teenager girl with amethyst eyes named Samantha Manson, (but goes by Sam, unless you want to get a taste of her metal combat boots) sniffs sadly as she waits in the waiting room on the hospital. Her hair was long and reached to her waist, she wore a dark purple top with long sleeves and jeans to hide the scars and tattoos on her shoulder and back, while at last wearing combat boots. She wore a silver DP necklace and along with it, was an engagement ring on a chain. The ring was silver, and on top of it was an amethyst that was sizable (but isn't too big) while small blue diamond surrounded it.
The girl tries to desperately remove the tears that had been running down to her cheeks, for she didn't want anyone to see her, when a large embrace from behind stopped her. She looked to her right shoulder to see none other than her fiancee and behind him, her best friends, Danny, Tucker (who surprisingly was there) and Valarie.
The three friends had had changed since their freshmen year. Tucker, the tech-wiz of their group, grew some muscles as well as he hit a growth spurn, but hides it by slouching a bit. He still kept his glasses but improved them by adding some bit of technology there. He still contained his trusty PDA, but it was currently on his pocket. He ditched his hat and yellow sweater and replaced them with with a Rasta hat, which contained the color of his old clothing, and a baggy, long sleeved shirt and switched his commando shorts with baggy pants to hide all the muscle, which includes a six pack that could make a fair amount of girls to drool, scars and tattoos he gained over the years.
Valarie, the newest member of the team and lover of Tucker Foley, was one of the three fighters of the group and one of the two back ups. She was once, and still is the Red Huntress. For all of her freshmen and sophomore year, she hunted ghosts with hatred, but now, being a member of team Phantom, she surely changed. She gained more muscles and contained some scars but not as many as Tucker or any of the members of team Phantom thanks to her suit. But that will still earn suspicion so she wears long sleeves shirt and pants to hide them along with the tattoos.
Then there was her fiancee, Danny, the leader of the group and the one taking the most hits. He contains more scars than anyone of their group all together. he hit a huge growth spurn and hid it by slouching. He gained so much muscles, which included a perfectly strong ten pack, which could make any girl weak on their knees, but what Sam herself finds more attractive was his scars, for they were reminders of Danny's bravery for protecting not just the human realm, but the Ghost Zone as well. He was force to wear an extra baggy shirt and pants to hide his new physical look, for this would earn suspicion. And just like all of team Phantom, he contained tattoos, but hid them well. Since he and Tucker are the most bullied and are assume weakest around their school, Casper High, they had to pretend to be weak to avoid suspicion. Said boy gave the his fiancee a look of sympathy.
"It's alright to cry Sammy." Danny sooth as he turned her around to remove some tears. "You've stayed strong for a very long time. It's not healthy. Its alright to cry."
Sam, normally the one to protest, cried. The three friends looked sadly at the crying goth. Sam is not usually the type to break down like this, but no one can blame her one bit.
Her grandmother was dying.
The doctors told Ida Manson that she was at least to live another year. Since she was physically weak, she had to stay on the hospital. At least she'll still be alive by the time Sam and Danny get married and at least one of the quartet to turn eighteen before her time is over. Sam's human parents, Pamela and Jeremy Manson, had been trying to swoon over the elderly Manson to gain the favor of the Manson family fortune, but Ida knows well. The current owner of the Manson fortune claimed in her will that"Samantha Manson and her three friends" are to take over the company and the family fortune, while her"daughter-in-law and son" will have no rights to touch the fortune or be near the company unless they are given the permission of the new owners. Tucker is already laughing at the mental image of the two's reaction when they find out.
It was really a shock and a painful heart struck truth to bare for the four friends when they discovered Ida didn't have much time left. Ida Manson had been a grandmother to the four of them. Ida, despite knowing that she won't be there with them anymore, assured them that she will always be with them, along with her late husband. Danny offered Sam a way to turn her into a ghost, but Sam refused. She wanted her grandmother to rest in peace, despite how painful the fact the she won't be with them felt. In fact, Ida surprised them all a year ago when she announced that she knew the secret about Phantom and Danny Fenton and that she knew for a while and that she promised to keep it a secret.
The doctor, came in and saw the four friend and cleared his throat to gain their attention. "I assume that you are here for Ida Manson?"
The four nodded and the doctor took them to the elderly Manson's room. It broke each and one of them hearts to see her like this. A strong, independent and kind woman, bedridden due to her fragile and weak body.
The elderly Manson smiled weakly and mention for them to come closer. None dared to disobey the old woman. Sam sat down near her grandmother and took her hand gently.
"Its alright Bubeleh. I'm not going anywhere. Alive or not"
Sam smile faintly. Her grandmother knew how to make her smile, no matter what the situation is. The rest of Team Phantom smiled as well. Despite how weak her body was, she was still going strong.
"Danny."
"Yes grandma Ida?"
"Had you brought her with you?"
Danny smiled and nodded. He checked around the hallways and noted they were clear. He closed the door and smiled at an empty spot.
"You can show yourself now Danielle."
Soon, a little girl with the body of a three year old appeared. She had black raven hair and blue eyes. Her hair was in a small braid and wore a blue shirt with a skirt. Danielle, or Dani for short, was once believed to be the clone of Danny Phantom, but it was more than that. When she decided to explore the world, Dani came back a year later to Amity Park, her physical form began to change. Worried for the girl, team Phantom took her to Frostbite and his clan, from the dept of the Ghost Zone in the Far Frozen to see what was going on. It was a relief to know that it was nothing to be worry about as her body was just adjusting to her mental age. However, the scientist decided to go deeper and went through Dani's DNA samples. From there, they discovered that Danielle Phantom was not a clone. They found traces of DNA of Danny in both his human and ghost forms, which was to be expected. But the unexpected part was that they also found another sample of DNA that did not matched with Danny's. The DNA was comfirmed to have matched with Sams. It took no genius to realized what this meant. It was a shock to both Danny and Sam (and a violent fit of laughter from Tucker) to realize that they were parent at the age of sixteen, but they had no problems or objections on being parents.
Ida smiled at the little one while Dani looked like she was about to cry. She adored her great-grandmother and it sadden her that she might never see her again. Even after death. Ida has found out about Dani and was shocked to say the least, but she wasn't mad and she adored her great-granddaughter.
Danny's super sensitive hearing then picked up footsteps. He wasn't the only one who heard them, for Dani turned invisible the moment the door began to open and the doctor peaked in.
"Visiting time is over. You can all come back and visit tomorrow."
Once out of the hospital, Tucker let out a large sigh of relief, earning a smack from Valarie who was shaking her head, and soon the four friend began making their way to the Nasty burger with Dani (still invisible) holding Sam and Danny's hands. Valarie looked at Sam who had a frown. She put her hand on her shoulder to get her attention.
"Don't worry Sam. Everything will be fine. We'll be there for you just like you guys were there for me."
Sam knew what she meant and smiled sadly. Valarie had lost her father at an accident during their junior year. Her father, Damon Grey, the only person left of her family had lost his life unexpectedly. She was in school on the time, just about when she began to hang out with team Phantom, her father went to work as usual as Axion lab to work on an experiment. Unfortunately, something went wrong and caused an explosion that consumed a fourth of Amity Park. Many were injured and at least ninety people were found dead. And unfortunately Damon Grey was one of those ninety dead.
When Valarie received the unfortunate news, she cried. No, she broke down. She hit a major depression and mourned for her father. Since she hasn't hit the age eighteen yet, she was to be taken to a Forster care program, but Ida and Sam took her in, unknown to the Jeremy and Pamela Manson, to prevent that from happening.
Valarie slowly but surely healed. Her father's death and funeral was more than a year ago, but it still felt like a wound that was still fresh on her heart, but she knew that she would heal in time with the help of her friends. Danny, Tucker, Sam and even Ida were with her to prevent her from harming herself and heal. After a couple of months with support and living with the Mansons, she got out of her depression. She will never get over her father's death no matter how much she moves forward. Now that her very friend that helped her was to lose someone just as dear to her and has helped her move forward, she will help Sam recover along with her friends.
After all, time heals scars.
......................
Danny sighed in his room. The night came and everyone was asleep. That is everyone but the Fentons. The house is currently quiet, unless you're near the lab that is. He felt so lonely in the hellhole he has to call home. Jazz was out in college and won't be back for a visit for another three months, his friends were back to their homes and Dani was back in the Ghost Zone under the care of her grandmother, Pandora, the keeper of Pandora's box as well as his spiritual mother. He still remembers how much the Box Ghost has gotten desperate to become the most wanted ghost that he stole the box that contained the most evil. Of course, this resulted him going through the maze of Minotaur and going to an interesting introduction before working together to defeat the Box ghost and return the box to it's rightful owner. Not long after did Danny discovered that she was his first mother and she welcomed him with open arms. Then there's Madeline and Jack Fenton. His birth parents who are currently on the lab on another invention to destroy any ghost and his alter-ego. He already considered sneaking out to Sam's house.
Normally, just like any other human being, their parents have their rights to be called 'mom' and 'dad', but these two lost their parental rights, thus losing respect towards from both him and Jazz. His parents are too obsessed with their works and their nonsense theories to even realized or be a part of their own family. Jazz was only four when she began taking responsibility and started acting like an adult. They were tight on food and money for a while since their parents didn't pay attention to food privileges or bills. When Sam and Tucker first found out about this, Danny begged them not to call child services. They had obviously been shocked, but agreed nonetheless. Sam offered Danny some of her money (even before he found out she was loaded), he would turn the offer down, claiming that this was something he should solve on his own.
Danny needed sleep, he knew that, but he just couldn't. He got off his bed and went to the little desk and pulled out his sketch book. He was willing to draw or create ghost ice sculptures of ghost and sell them. By going by the penname as Neil Knight, for he knew no once would buy from a Fenton, his sales had been increasing rapidly. He would sell sketches online while selling his sculptures in a crystal shop and art gallery. Sam was actually the one who persuade him into selling these. At first he was against this and believed no one would buy them, but he was proven wrong when he saw how much fund he earned in his bank account in less than three hours. He was busy for days. He earned enough money to the point where he can afford a college fund.
His eyes dropped along with any remaining good mood.
College.
His dream was to become an astronaut for NASA. But since he started focusing on protecting his home rather than his schoolwork, he turn from an A level student to a C level student. He was clueless, and a reckless idiot at times, but stupid? No. He had the brains. He is intelligent enough to pass his classes, but because of everything related to his alter-ego, he hasn't found the time to do his schoolwork. Let alone get in school in time without falling asleep during class or avoid getting detention. His dreams of becoming a part of NASA faded to the point he had to give up that dream.
He heard a yap and he look behind him. There he was, the ghost puppy that caused the Red Huntress to be born. Cujo. His parent were clueless enough to realized the the ghost detectors were off, so he wasn't worry about the alarms. He realized Cujo had something in his mouth and mention for him to come near. Cujo sat on his master's lap and wagged his tailed when he scratched him behind the ears. Danny took the piece of paper and looked at it. He smiled sadly as he continued to scratch the puppy.
It wasn't a piece of paper. It was a photograph of his entire family. His happy family in the Ghost Zone. There was himself, Dani, Sam, Tucker, Valarie and Jazz. But it wasn't just them there was also Pandora, his spiritual mother, Clockwork, his father, Kitty, Ember and princess Dora, his adopted sisters and of course, Johnny 13, his brother. There was also Youngblood, but he was nothing important other than a friend of Dani. He had a feeling his daughter had something to do with this. He didn't seem to care though. He just smiled and commended Cujo to return to the Ghost Zone before going ghost and made his way towards the Mansons mansion.
"Maybe everything isn't so bad."
