It wasn't until it was too late that Danny discovered that his enemies were actually trying to keep him from graduating.
Since they could never beat him, they decided to prevent him from Graduating and going to college to become an astronaut like he had wanted.
His parents were disappointed, of course. Since they were a family of geniuses. Sam and Tucker both had to move away so they could go to their dream colleges. They did visit every so often though.
They both knew and completely understood why Danny couldn't graduate. So did Jazz.
But everyone else thought it was because Danny was lazy, stupid, and a slacker.
If only they knew...
Since Amity was a pretty small town, everyone knew him and dubbed him 'The Fentons Failure'.
Danny huffed In annoyance.
He walked down the street, his hands in his pockets. He hasn't spoken to his parents in a few months. He didn't want to see their looks of disappointment. He tried going to summer school but the ghosts also prevented him from passing that as well.
Danny struggled to keep his eyes open. The ghost fights have been getting really bad lately. They were almost nonstop. He hadn't had a full nights rest in almost a month.
He walked towards the center of Amity Park, pulling his hood up. He saw that nearly everyone was there. He was confused until he remembered that it was Phantom Day. The people of Amity were celebrating their hero.
"The Irony..." Danny mumbled, walking into the large crowd.
His ghost sense went off just as a large green and black dome appeared over everybody.
Danny heard a malicious laugh. The people heard it to. They began freaking out and tried to escape only to find that they couldn't leave the green dome.
Danny recognized it as a 'Human Sheild'. It kept humans from escaping but ghosts could pass through it easily. Like the opposite of a ghost sheild. Cameras were live everywhere, they were meant to be filming the festival.
Danny looked around for the ghost but didn't see anything.
Suddenly, something wrapped around his waist and threw him across everyone and through the sheild. Danny felt something crack once he hit the concrete.
Danny heard gasps and somebody called out his name. He was pretty sure it was his mom. Both of his parents didnt hate Phantom anymore. He was tempted to tell them the truth but he didn't want to risk putting them in danger.
Danny rolled over on his back, grabbing his side. He felt something wet and saw blood all over his hand. Danny sighed.
He stood up, his hood fell off. He looked around in confusion at what grabbed him. Something wrapped around his ankle. He yelped as it hung him upside down. He came face to face with a creepy looking ghost. It was green with six red eyes. It had several long arms. It reminded him of a spider.
Danny shuddered. He happened to hate spiders.
"Hello, son of the ghost hunters" The ghost smirked. Danny glared at him. The ghost laughed then once again threw him across the ground.
He hit the ground again. He immediately got up and, much to the surprise of the people watching, got into a fighting position.
—-
Sam and Tucker both looked at their T.V screens in worry. They were watching the Phantom Festival but now they were watching their friend get tossed around by a green ghost spider thing.
They watched as another one of the ghosts arms grabbed Dannys leg, lifting him up upside down. The ghost smiled, showing off its sharp teeth.
"Hello, son of the ghost hunters" Spider Ghost said. He then threw him across the ground once more.
Danny immediately got up into a fighting position.
—-
Dash and the rest of his friends from Casper High were all in his Dorm, watching the kid they used to bully get attacked by a giant ghost spider.
"You think you can defeat me? You puny human? Ha!" The ghost laughed. Dash watched anxiously as Danny nervously looked around.
'Whats he looking for?' Dash wondered.
The ghost lunged at Danny but he quickly dodged. The ghost growled and turned around, running towards Danny once more.
The ghost curled one of its hands in a fist. It tried punching him but Danny quickly grabbed its arm. Another arm punched towards it. Danny let go and did a backflip to dodge.
Kwans eyes widened. None of them could do half of what Danny had just done.
Just who was the kid they used to bully?
—-
Mikey watched fearfully inside the green dome. Danny was fighting the ghost with no weapons or anything!
His eyes widened as the ghost used one arm to grab Dannys right arm. Danny was about to bring his left elbow down against the ghosts arm to try and free his right hand but another one of the ghosts many arms grabbed his left arm as well.
Danny struggled against the grip.
'I need to find a damn place to transform!' Danny huffed. If he had gotten any sleep the night before then he probably would of already finished the fight.
Danny was completely exhausted but he didn't let it show. He continued to struggle. He needed to get free.
Finally, one of the arms loosened. Danny ripped his arm free then kneed the ghost in the gut. The ghost let go of his other arm. He fell and rolled backwards, quickly hopping back on his feet. His vision darkened at the edges. He began feeling lightheaded, making him stumble backwards.
Suddenly, the ghosts arm shot out, wrapping around Danny's neck. His eyes widened as he struggled to breathe.
Mikeys eyes widened. He desperately wished he could help. Danny had been there for him, helped him with the bullying during highschool.
Maddie and Jack were behind him. Maddie had her head buried against jacks shoulder. Her body shook with silent cries. Jack just watched, wishing and hoping Phantom would come and save their son, since they were unable to.
—-
Sam gasped, covering her mouth. She knew this wasn't going to end well. She could tell that Danny was exhausted. So could Tucker. Normally, Danny wouldn't be struggling so bad in a fight. That, and the fact that he couldn't transform.
Tucker watched through the screen as his best friends eyes rolled into the back of his head. His body went limp. The ghost smirked and let go, letting Dannys limp body hit the ground.
Everyone was dead silent. Nobody could move. A scream broke the silence. The camera turned towards the noise and Zoomed in on Maddie.
She was trying to run towards Danny but she couldn't get through the sheild.
"Turn this damn thing off, I'm going to kill you, you mother f-" Jack gently grabbed Maddie and pulled her away. She broke down in sobs.
—-
Jazz was in her dorm with her roomate. Jazz was watching the screen with tear stained eyes. There was no emotion on her face. She just stared blankly at the screen.
She wanted the Camera to go back on her baby brother. She needed to see the rise and fall of his chest. She needed to see that he was still alive.
Her roommate placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
—-
The ghost smirked and turned towards the human sheild.
"Now... who wants to be next? Hmm... how about... the ghost hunters!" The ghost created a dark green and red ecto blast in all of its 8 arms.
All eight ecto blasts were launched towards Dannys parents.
—-
Mr Lancer watched the screen on his television, disbelief in his eyes. He might had just watched one of his old students die. And now, his parents were about to as well.
He wanted to turn away. But he couldn't. His eyes were glued to the screen in front of him.
All of the ecto blasts in the ghosts arms fired towards the fentons. Lancer finally closed his eyes.
—-
Danny let out a soft groan and took in a deep breath. He cracked his eyes open just a little.
They quickly widened as he saw the ghost shoot a ton of ecto blasts towards his parents.
—-
Maddie watched helplessly as the ecto blasts flew closer and closer towards herself and her husband. Jack tightened his grip on maddie.
The blasts phased through the sheild. Suddenly, a green ecto sheild appeared around them just as the ecto blasts hit.
Once the smoke cleared, they all gasped at what they saw.
Danny stood where he had fallen, his arms out and palms still glowing green. His eyes were a bright neon green and he looked pissed off.
"Hurt me all you want, but leave them the fuck alone" He growled out.
Everyone gasped as two white rings appeared around his waist. They split apart transforming Dannys old worn out hoodie and jeans into a black and white hazmat suit.
His hair turned white as snow. They watched as the kid they deemed a 'failure' turned into their Hero who saved them hundreds of times with no payment or anything in return.
The ghost stood there shocked. He thought the other ghosts made sure he was too worn out to put up a big fight. But he had another plan.
Danny sent kick after kick, punch after punch, and hit him with several ecto blasts. The ghost cried out in pain as Danny sent a roundhouse kick onto his face.
The ghost staggered backwards, reaching for something Danny couldn't see. Danny pulled out the thermos and turned it on.
The familiar blue light appeared along with a unfamiliar sharp pain in his stomach. Danny looked up and saw the ghost disappear into the thermos, a malicious smile still on its face.
Danny looked down and saw a sword, pierced into his stomach. Danny dropped the full thermos. He slowly pulled the sword out. He then collapsed onto his back.
His vision blurred. He coughed up some blood which he knew was a bad sign.
He heard several feet running towards him but couldn't look up. He felt someones hands brush against the side of his face in a comforting way.
He felt tired. All he wanted to do was fall asleep. He let his eyes close.
"No! Danny, please baby, keep your eyes open honey. Please, sweetie keep your eyes open! PLEASE, WE NEED SOME HELP!" He felt something wet on his face and realized that the person above him was crying.
"Mads, the streets are packed. No ambulances are gonna make it through" he heard a familiar voice say softly. They sounded like they were crying as well.
He opened his eyes a bit and saw his parents. His mom had his head in her lap.
"M-mom" his voice was just barely a whisper. But she heard him.
"Danny! Danny just hang on, you're going to be ok!"
"Just hang on son, keep your eyes open" He felt himself being lifted up into someones arms and carried away.
Then all he saw was darkness.
—-
Dannys eyes shot open. He looked around and realized he was in a hospital room. Maddie was by his side in an instant.
"Danny! Are you ok? Are you hurting at all? How are you feeling?" She asked.
"M' ok... jus a lil sleepy" Danny mumbled out. Maddie smiled softly.
Danny rubbed his eyes. They sat there for awhile in silence.
"Wheres dad?" He asked.
"Picking up your sister from her college" Maddie answered.
"I-Im... im sorry mom... I really wanted to tell you... but I couldn't and- and I really did try to graduate! It was already to late when I found out that the ghosts were deliberately trying to keep me from graduating and, and-" Maddie cut him off.
"Sweetie, stop apologizing. Me and your father both understand. And we're very proud of you. So, so much" Maddie said, kissing his forehead.
For the first time in awhile, Danny gave a sincere smile.
*EXTRA*
"DANNY! IF YOU EVER ALMOST DIE LIKE THAT AGAIN I'LL KILL YOU MYSELF!" Sam exclaimed, barging through his hospital room door.
"DONT WORRY DANNY I'LL GET HER-" Sam quickly shut the door, making tucker slam into it. Sam opened the door again, tucker fell inside.
"...well nice to see you guys to" Danny said, smiling.
Sam gave Danny a bone crushing hug. Tucker joined in.
"I leave for six months and you nearly get yourself killed by a spider ghost"
"Oh hush!"
*smack*
"OW! Sam! I'm injured! You gotta be nice to me!"
"No"
"....why're you being meeeaaann"
"Cuz she loves you-"
"Wait... sam... sam, NO! AH! CALM DOWN WOMAN! THE HECK- PUT THAT DOWN! NO! I'M SORRY!!!!"
