The Flash - 3

(A/N) This is the last Flash one, enjoy! I just realized. This is post-phantom planet, but only Amity Park found out about Danny's secret identity.

Once we made it back to the cortex, Dr. Snow insisted I sit down for an examination. I switched back to Fenton to make it easier for her to check my vitals, as trying to do that through a jumpsuit can be annoying apparently. (I've been told that a lot.)

"So many scars," Dr. Snow murmured, tracing a more recent scar. (I don't remember how I got that one, or which one it was, but I knew it was recent cause it was pinker than the others, which had mostly faded.)

"I wasn't exactly very good at fighting when I started," I admitted. "I didn't have a mentor or anything like that. I also didn't have any previous experience with fighting."

"It's surprising you're still alive then." Dr. Snow replied.

I frowned. "I'm pretty sure I'm not still alive, but sure. I had a lot of help from my friends."

"You realize it is impossible to be both alive, and dead?"

"You do realize most of this is impossible?" I replied. "You literally work with a dude who can break the sound barrier in his sneakers."

"He's got you there," Cisco said.

Dr. Snow floundered for a moment, then gave up. "Your vitals are very slow, but based on your self-description of being half dead, I'm going to guess this is normal."

I shrugged. I had no idea. I hadn't been to a hospital (or had a doctor's checkup) since I got my powers.

"How can you not know?" Dr. Snow asked, scandalized.

I shrugged again. "I haven't been to a doctor since I was fourteen."

"Aren't you fourteen now?" Cisco asked.

I opened my mouth, then paused. "I suppose? But I mean before I got my powers." I sighed. "My parents weren't exactly attentive, Jazz was really the one that brought me to doctor appointments. When I became half ghost, she stopped doing it, realizing my reason for not wanting to go to the doctor."

"And your parents didn't even notice?" The Flash wondered.

I shrugged. "Nope. They didn't even find out I was Danny Phantom on their own, I had to tell them."

"Now that's just sad," Cisco said. "And kind of pathetic."

"Worst part? They would talk about tearing Danny Phantom to pieces right in front of me. I kind of developed this kind of paranoia about what could happen if they found out." I sighed. "Most of my enemies in the Ghost Zone knew my secret identity before my parents found out."

"And your sister?" The Flash wondered.

"Found out on her own, she watched me transform." I smiled softly, remembering the time she'd found out I was Phantom.

"Your friends?" Dr. Snow asked.

I laughed slightly. "Were there when I first transformed. I, um, stepped into the machine that created the portal to the ghost zone, and accidentally activated it with me inside."

"That explains the half-dead part," Cisco remarked. "That would've been what, a million joules of electricity?"

"Dunno, maybe?" I guessed, shrugging. (It seems like I keep doing that.)

"Okay Danny, you should be good, just don't go around inhaling smoke," Dr. Snow said.

"Or, y'know, just don't inhale anything at all," I added, hopping off the bed and putting my shirt on.

"That would just be weird," Cisco admitted. "For everyone around you."

I grinned. "Maybe I'll see you again sometime, but for now, I should go."

"Don't hesitate to come here if you need help." Dr. Snow said. "Or a doctor."

I smiled at her. "I won't, promise. I learned that lesson long ago."

I phased through the ceiling, leaving them standing there. I flew away, but after I'd gotten a good look at the damage caused by the explosion.

(A/N) Okay, so I have no idea what to do with this, so I'm calling it good for a while. The book in general, I mean. I may take it off 'completed' in favor of adding more stuff if many people (not just you, Kate) insist. Bye!
