EXTENDED PSYCHOLOGY;

grace is the definition of a serial doubter. her whole life has been a game of being cautious, and so her anxious tendencies tend to come naturally. she is a seeker of close relationships, especially with boys due to her father's emotional absence. after being assaulted and cheated on by connor and her best friend, she becomes severely detached from those around her. on top of it, her mother passes away and her father puts the blame on her, taking out his frustrations on her both mentally and physically. all of this grief and abuse from every corner of her life causes her to become cold, negative, pessimistic and distrusting. everyone she's ever loved has been taken away from her. she puts up a front to prevent anyone else from getting in.

she initially pushed isaac away because of this reason. she can't comprehend why he would want to have interest in her, especially since the rest of the people in her life seem to hate her. isaac persists, however, knowing that people who act the way grace does have been hurt very badly. he helps her open up again and realize that her life is still worth living by pushing her to find joy in the things she loves again, such as music and art. she slowly begins to find her way back to her true identity through a passage of self-discovered happiness.
