Rachel:

The relaxing smell of my own house fills my nostrils, dismissing the awful smell of bleach from the hospital.

My stomach growls quite loudly, even Cam who has come to take me home heard it.

"You must be hungry, sit down at the table, I'll make you some lunch," he gently shoves me to the table and heads to the kitchen.

I sit down slowly on the cold wooden seat, sighing at finally being home. I only wish that my dad was here, I really needed him right now. My dad has ventured off into the east to take a short holiday, away from all the drama within our pack.

"Here you go," Cam said quietly and brightly to me. He slid the plate across the table to me before placing his own plate down. He is so sweet, he made my favourite, banana and honey. I know this may sound weird but it is actually really nice.

"Thanks," I replied simply, keeping my eyes down on my plate, not wanting to make eye contact with him since everything that has happened. Especially Matthew being my mate, I always thought that I would not find mine, I am constantly kept within the pack and only within the city, I never really got out.

Cam reached over and placed a soft, warm hand on mine, causing a dizzying feeling to come up because of regret. I always thought that it was going to be us too forever, apparently not.

"Are you ok? You seem a bit off," Cam's worried eyes mixed with concern lock with my eyes. My eyes start to sting but I nod,

"Yeah, I'm fine, sorry," I manage to mutter out as I moved my eyes away from his to look back down at the sandwich. Cam let go of my hand and picked his own sandwich up.

"There is no need to apologize, I was just asking," Cam says, almost wispering, continuing to eat his sandwich.

I give him a weak smile before eating the delectable snadwich in front of me.

Suddenly there was a rapid, hard banging of someone knocking ferociously on the front door.

"Who is it?!" I yell out through a mouth full of bread, honey and banana.

"Alpha Riley," he states blandly before sighing loudly.

"Oh, come in. The door is un-" but before I could finish my sentence, Riley came bursting through the front door, closing the door behind him.

I gasp at the quick pace in which he came in, dropping my snadwich onto the table resulting in some of the contents dropping onto my lap.

"Ugh! Dammit!" I stand up, brushing my lap off, only making my hands sticky due to the honey.

"Oh here," Cam rushes to my side with a serviette in hand, passing it over to me.

"Thanks," I mutter to him, wiping ferociously at the honey and banana on my lap.

"Sorry about that," Riley rushes over to try and help, only to be slapped away by me.

As I turn to go up the stairs to have a quick much needed shower and change into something clean, Cam cleans up the mess I had just made. I mutter swear words under my breath, not really caring if the Alpahas can hear me, I really wanted that sandwich!

I stomp up the stairs, pissed off at Riley for making me drop my sandwich. I stomp right into my room where I grab a towel as I pass the linen closet, walking straight to the bathroom in the next room, a wooden door connecting my room to it.

I strip of immediately and hop in the shower, turning on the heat rather far, waiting for it to heat up. Bad mistake. Soon enough, the water heats up, only to scold me. I gasp and jump to the other corner of the shower, quickly turning the cold tap.

Once it is at the perfect temperature I step back into the soothing, steady fall of water. Sighing at the feeling, so relaxed.

After spending around ten minutes in the shower, I hop out, wringing my hair out with m6 hands before toweling myself dry. I step out and into my room, quickly finding a pair of baggy paints and a baggy shirt before heading back down the stairs. I don't really care what I look like, seriously though, I just got out of hospital around an hour ago.

I turn the corner to go to the kitchen to make myself another sandwich but get stopped by Cam stepping in front of me.

"Humff" I mutter out as he bumps into me, stopping me in my tracks.

"Sorry Rachel, but we need to talk," Cam says, looking down at me sympathetically.

"Well sorry Cam, but I need to eat," I shrug past him, walking straight into the kitchen.

"Fine, but afterwards, we need to talk," Cam says giving up. I give him a thumbs up, my back still facing him.

I walk slowly, sluggishly over to the pantry, getting out the ingredients needed for my sandwich. It doesn't take long to make my sandwich as I finish pretty quickly and turn around to sit at the table. I eat my sandwich twice as slowly as I usually do as Cam and Riley watch me from the lounge room.

"Yes?" I say sarcastically to them, earning a glare from Cam as Riley gets the message and turns away from me, instead staring right in front of him. I chuckle as I start to speed up the eating of my sandwich.

Once finished, I take my plate over to the sink, rinsing it quickly before putting it aside to dry.

"Sooooo, what did you need to talk to me about?" I say as I walk into the lounge room, taking a seat on my dad's recliner as Riley and Cam are sitting on my lounge. I flop down into it, letting it take the wait of my body.

I grunt as I accidentally knock my arm into my neck as I haul myself up to sit properly.

"You right?" Riley says, jumping up to try and help me.

"Umm, no I am actually left," I say, I am actually right handed but I just wanted to make a joke at this moment, becausr why not?

Riley chuckles lightly and sits back down, giving me a light smile. I look over at Cam who is just staring blankly at me, something is wrong because he usually laughs at my jokes.

I furrow my brows in confusion as I look back at Cam, his eyes are a darker shade of blue instead of his usual bright, innocent blue colour.

"Rachel, we know where Alpha Damen is, he has your father captive and is demanding that we hand you over for you father." Cam says, his voice all serious, he never gets like this until there is a serious problem or it has something to do with the people he loves.

I didn't even realise that I am gaping at him until Riley says, "May want to shut your mouth before any flies fly in" he chuckles afterwards as I quickly shut my mouth and swallow loudly.

"What are going to do? Are you going to save my dad but lose me? Or are you going to leave my dad there?" My voice cracks at the end, my eyes stinging at the unshed tears that are ready to come out.

"Don't worry, I have an idea, a plan. I am going to save your father but also save you at the same time, I am not going to let Damen hurt you or your father." Cam smiles weakly at the end, his eyes are still serious though.

I nod but turn my eyes around from Cam and Riley's prying eyes, staring at the ground.

"Where is he?" I say, quietly, almost a wisper. I glance up at Cam before turning my gaze to Riley, then looking back at the ground.

"Riley has reported that he contacted my office while I was with you in the hospital, he sais that Damen was in the neighboring pack." He glance over his shoulder to Riley who nods in agreement.

"Yes indeed, and I would just like to say sorry to you Rachel," as soon as he says my name, my head wips up to stare intently at him. "I really didn't mean for you to get scared or anything like that earlier," he says before he moves his gaze back down to the ground.

"It's fine," I reply simply, earning a toothy grin from Riley, finally glad that I had finally forgave him. Well I do guess that I didn't give him much time to apologize earlier.
