~Y/n pov~

I walked into the lobby of the old building and there was Byakuya.

"Now then, stand up straight and raise your arms." He commanded.

I looked at him blankly.

He sighed, "I need to conduct a body check. I said I won't let anybody become a victim."

I did as he instructed and felt his ham hands pat me up and down, his hands slipping into my pockets to check if anything was in there.

After what felt like an eternity, he stepped away from me and let me go into the room where the party was being held.

Nagito immediately walked towards me, "Do you like it?"

"Huh?"

"I spent ages cleaning and then I decorated too. I even laid out this huge rug because there were gaps between the floorboards." He explained.

"If you put in all that effort it would be rude to complain." I smiled slightly.

Ibuki grabbed my arm and dragged me away. She began cheerfully conversing me.

Mikan was stood by herself near the wall, so I decided to go over to her with Ibuki and involve her in a conversation.

She was a bit nervous and stuttered at first, but eventually she got comfortable around us and started smiling.

Finally, everyone had arrived. Well...everyone but Fuyuhiko.

Byakuya walked over to the table and immediately started scoffing down some food.

He then showed Teruteru the iron skewer and complained about how dangerous it was.

The blonde dragged Hajime with him to the kitchen to look for dangerous items.

They came back after a few minutes.

Byakuya complained that he needed to put the cases full of potential weapons somewhere safe.

Peko volunteered to guard because parties weren't here thing. With that, she headed off to the office with the safe.

"Now we ought to do something about Monokuma." Byakuya stated.

"I'll do something about it." Chiaki stated.

Byakuya raised an eyebrow, "Do something? You?"

"What can a girl like you do? You're just putting yourself in danger." Kazuichi added.

Chiaki let out a puff of air, "I'm not going to personally do anything. I'll ask Monomi for help."

With that, she walked off.

"Can I finally eat?" Akane groaned, placing her hand on her hip.

As soon as she was told she could, she marched over to the table and started scoffing the food. Other quickly hurried over, hoping they'd actually be able to eat something.

Mahiru smiled and took pictures of everyone hanging out.

I continued to talk to Ibuki and Mikan. Every few minutes, I took a bite from my food.

This might not be so bad...so why? Why do I have this bad feeling? This sinking in my stomach.

Suddenly, the lights went out and everyone started panicking.

"Uwah! It's a blackout!"

"Hey, I can't see anything!"

"I-It's pitch black! My future is pitch black!"

"E-Everyone, calm down! We gotta stay calm in a situation like this!"

"Waaaah! Don't step on my feet!"

"What the hell!? What's going on here!?" "Th-This is...!"

"Ow!"

"Turn the damn lights on! I can't eat like this, y'know!"

"You guys? Where are you? W-Wasn't the blackout...just in the kitchen?"

"Perhaps the breaker overloaded?"

"H-Hold on a sec! I'll go along the wall...and do something about it...!"

After everyone fumbled around and panicked for a few minutes, the lights just came back on.

I was stood against the wall, I didn't move the whole time and luckily no one bumped into me.

Turning, I saw Mikan had tripped into another compromising position...somehow.

"Seriously?" Hajime exclaimed, "How do you trip and land like that?"

"Eeek! No! Please don't look!" Mikan cried.

I was the first to start picking up the food and start untangling Mikan....again.

When I had cleared everything up, I extended a hand to Mikan.

She took it wordlessly and pulled herself up.

"Um...thanks." She whispered quietly to me.

"Byakuya is missing...did he go somewhere?" Sonia asked.

Now that she mentions it, Byakuya wasn't here anymore. (In more ways than one)

Everyone started discussing places to look.

"Hey...do you smell that?" Akane asked.

"Is something wrong?"

"Blood." Akane exclaimed, walking over to a table near the back of the room.

We all followed her.

She lifted up the tablecloth and that's when we saw it.

Byakuya was laid in a pool of blood. So, the killing game really did start?

I guess that explains the bad feeling I had earlier.

*Ding dong dong ding*

"A body has been discovered!"

INVESTIGATION START

Monokuma File #1 (モノクマファイル１)

The victim's body was discovered in the dining hall of the old building near the Hotel Mirai. The estimated time of death is 11:30 p.m. The victim was repeatedly stabbed over ten times between the throat and abdominal region, resulting in death. Aside from that, the body has no other external injuries, and no chemicals such as poison were detected.

Knife (ナイフ)

Bloodstained knife found under the table where the body was discovered. A glowing paint-like substance coats it.

Bloodstain Under the Table (テーブル周辺の血痕)

A pool of blood formed around the body underneath the table. A lot of blood was splattered against the inside of the tablecloth. Also, there was no sign that the body was dragged through the bloodstain.

Gaps in Floorboard (床の隙間)

The floors of the dining hall were full of gaps. Gundham dropped one of his earrings through these gaps.

A/C Timer (エアコンのタイマー)

The A/C timer in the dining hall was set to 11:30 p.m.

Night-vision Goggles (暗視スコープ)

Found under the table where the body was discovered. Apparently it came from the supermarket.

Embarrassing Pose (恥ずかしいポーズ)

During the blackout, Mikan tripped and fell in the dining hall. By the time the lights came back on, she ended up in a compromising position.

Duralumin Case (ジュラルミンケース)

The case Byakuya had with him. There's a lot of security equipment inside and a hard plastic case as well. The key to the other duralumin case is inside here too.

Ibuki's Account (澪田の証言)

During the blackout, Ibuki was able to discern all the noise people were making.

Mahiru: "Uwah! It's a blackout!"

Kazuichi: "Hey, I can't see anything!"

Ibuki: "I-It's pitch black! My future is pitch black!"

Mahiru: "E-Everyone, calm down! We gotta stay calm in a situation like this!"

Hiyoko: "Waaaah! Don't step on my feet!"

Irons in Storage Room (倉庫のアイロン)

There were three irons placed inside the storage room. When Nagito found them, they were all turned on.

Storage Room Tablecloth (倉庫のテーブルクロス)

A bloodstained tablecloth was found randomly stuffed inside the laundry hamper.

Teruteru's Account (花村の証言)

The gas stove in the kitchen is powered by electricity. That's why Teruteru couldn't use it during the blackout.

Party Dishes (パーティーの料理)

Teruteru poured his heart and soul into cooking various party dishes. However, Akane and Peko were the only ones who ate them.

Fire Door (防火扉)

If a fire breaks out, the fire door in the hallway of the old building can be shut to keep the fire from spreading.

Kitchen Equipment (厨房の備品リスト)

The knife found at the crime scene was not included on the kitchen's equipment list. All the dangerous equipment that could be a potential weapon was confiscated by Byakuya. Apparently there's an iron plate for BBQ and a portable stove for cooking hot pots.

Chiaki's Account (七海の証言)

When Chiaki was standing guard outside, Fuyuhiko apparently came to the old building, then walked away.

Murder Threat (犯罪予告)

A threatening letter that was found inside Byakuya's room. "Be careful. The first kill will happen tonight. Someone will definitely kill someone." The author of this letter is unknown.

Kazuichi's Account (左右田の証言)

During the search for Byakuya after the blackout, Kazuichi headed straight to the office. He didn't see anyone there, including Peko.

Mikan's Autopsy Results (罪木の検死結果)

According to Mikan's autopsy, Byakuya sustained several puncture wounds to his chest and abdomen. The wounds were inflicted by a thin, sharp weapon roughly 5 mm in diameter.

Nekomaru's Account (弐大の証言)

Nekomaru kept trying to use the bathroom since before the party started, but someone was using it the whole time. He was able to enter the bathroom after Byakuya's body was discovered.

A/n instead of an investigation scene it's just the truth bullets. Just like in my Kokichi fanfic. It's just easier and if I wrote out the whole investigation I would have to write an extra chapter or just have this really long chapter every investigation.
