Hi, I hope you like the story so far, here's the next chapter.

In the forest 

Shadow was running through the forest and started to cry as he remembered how his mother was stabbed in front of him. "I could have done something." Shadow thought and speed up. "Who ever the leader is, I'll kill him." Shadow thought and wiped his tears away.

At Rouge's house

Rouge was peacefully sleeping in her bed as she suddenly woke up because somebody was knocking on the door. Rouge stood up and went out of her small bedroom and almost ran into her parents. "Who could that be, it's in the middle of the night?" Rouge's mom asked sleepily. "Yeah, yeah, I'm coming." Rouge's father said. He went to the door with Rouge walked right behind him and opened the door. 

"Shadow?" Rouge asked as she saw the black and red hedgehog leaning against the door frame. "Help me." Shadow said while he held his still bleeding shoulder and passed out because of blood loss. Rouge ran worried to Shadow's side. "Dad, we have to help him please, he's hurt." Rouge asked her father and her dad nodded. He picked Shadow up and brought him inside the house while Rouge closed the door. "Rouge, who is that?" Rouge's mom asked as her father carried Shadow into Rouge's bedroom. "That's Shadow, he's the one who rescued me in the forest from the three robbers and he's my boyfriend since yesterday." Rouge explained and followed her father. "I'll get bandages and water in the meantime." Rouge mother said and went into her kitchen. 

In the mean time Rouge and her father pulled Shadow's shirt off and Rouge noticed Shadow's pendant. "Where have I seen that before?" Rouge asked herself but her thought's got interrupted from her father. "Why has he his pendant look like the royal symbol of the Dark Kingdom? Only members of the royal family have this." Rouge's father said. "Could it be that he's a member of the royal family." Rouge thought. "I don't know, I'll ask him about that when he's awake." Rouge said and walked out of the room to wash Shadow's shirt.

After twenty minutes Rouge finished washing and walked back into her room. Rouge's mother had also finished bandaging Shadow. "Thanks!" Rouge said and hugged her parents. "That was only fair that we helped him after he rescued our daughter." her father said and left the room with Rouge's mother to go back to sleep. Rouge sat down on her chair and watched Shadow until she fall asleep.

The next day

Rouge woke up and saw that Shadow was still asleep. Then she walked into the kitchen to make breakfast like everyday. "I hope he wakes up soon." Rouge said and placed the plates on the table. "Mom, dad breakfast is ready!" Rouge yelled and closed the door again. "I'll look if Shadow's up now." she thought and walked to her room. 

A few seconds before Shadow woke up and looked around the room. "Where am I?" he asked him self. "Your in my house." Rouge answered and Shadow looked surprised at her. "Oh, now I remember!" Shadow said and sat up. "Would you please tell me what happened." Rouge said and sat down in her chair in front of Shadow. "At first I would like to have my shirt back, if that's possible." Shadow said and Rouge gave him his clothes. "Here, I cleaned your shirt." Rouge replied and saw Shadow's pendant again. "Are you a member of the royal family?" Rouge asked and Shadow looked surprised. "Yes, I'm the prince of the Dark Kingdom." Shadow replied. "Why didn't you tell me before?" Rouge asked. "I don't know. I never liked being a prince because of all the duties. I wanted to go on adventures, that's why I always sneaked out of the castle and trained my fighting skills. Sorry that I lied to you." Shadow answered and looked guilty on the floor. "Doesn't matter and would you please tell me what happened before you came to my house?" Rouge asked and Shadow nodded but before he could answer their was a knock on the door and Rouge's mother came into the room. "Oh good you're awake. Would you two come and eat breakfast before it gets cold." Rouge's mother said. "Yes we're coming." Rouge replied and her mother left the room. "I'm sure my parents also want to know what happened, so you can tell us what happened after we had breakfast." Rouge said and Shadow nodded, then the two went into the kitchen.

"Thanks for helping me." Shadow said before they started eating. "You're welcome." Rouge's parents said at the same time. As they finished eating Rouge and her parents looked at Shadow because they finally wanted to hear what happened in the night before. "Okay you're the prince of the Dark Kingdom and what happened yesterday?" Rouge asked for the third time. "I woke up the whole because I heard screaming and as I looked out of my window the whole village was on fire and the enemy, I don't know who they were, tried to break the castle gate. I ran to my parents and wanted to fight too but my dad told me to flee with my mother because we were outnumbered. As finally had a plan how to escape, my mother got stabbed by one of the knights from the enemy. I killed him and three others and wanted to stay but my other commanded me flee. I escaped but got hit by an arrow. I immediately ran to your house because you were the only person I know who doesn't live in the Dark Kingdom." Shadow said. "And what about your father?" Rouge asked. "I'm sure that he got killed too, like everyone else in the kingdom." Shadow answered and looked at the floor. "What are you going to do now?" Rouge's dad asked. "I'll try to get a job and someday I'll go back to my kingdom and kill whoever the leader of them is and nobody will stand in my way." Shadow replied and Rouge looked even more worried at Shadow.
