Chapter seventy four

Prince Ire grabbed Princess Adebisi's hand, turning her to him immediately she tried to leave as well. The two siblings stared at each other. No single word uttered for few seconds. They might not really like each other, but sometimes, they acted like true siblings because the blood of the same father run through their veins. "Why are you here?"
Princess Adebisi snatched her hand away. "What? She told me to tag along. Any problem? Who knew you attend church programme as well."
"Are you two this close? I thought Derin was your very close friend."
"Until she became the wife of a governor. You think the first lady has time to get drunk and live carelessly again?" Princess Adebisi replied. "I heard you asked her who she told when she came to disturb your outing with your hmm...the other day. Your ex girlfriend since you broke up." She didn't want to mention Ara and it was so glaring that she didn't spare her a glance and just continued talking. "Did you really think I would hurt you or what? Even though we hate ourselves so much, what would I gain trying to hurt you? That day you guys are curious about, I went out with Irene." She mentioned the Senator's daughter. "I told her Derin's plan was stupid in the first place. That you would never accept. At least, I know little about you and I was sure you would never. You didn't disappoint me. So, who has the time to be sending you silly pictures when I have other things to do."
Both Ara and Prince Ire looked at each other. "So, you told Irene about where Derin was going that day?"
"Wait..." Princess Adebisi rolled her eyes at Prince Ire. "Is there anything going on between you and Irene? We came in exactly when you did, but she waited until you came out with her." She avoided mentioning Ara's name again. "Thank God your windows were locked. You better tell Damola to get tinted glass for his car windows. We saw how she was displaying. "She finally took a quick glance at Aramade. "You were too dramatic and she was looking at you somehow. Sometimes, the way Irene acts, I don't understand. Even when I told her you guys broke up already, she was somehow seeing you two together. May be jealous."
"Babes, what's keeping you outside?" Irene yelled.
"Excuse me please." Princess Adebisi left their presence and joined Irene as the two made their way in back together. "What were you two discussing for long?"
Princess Adebisi hissed. "Asking me how mom was doing after all the role he played in it." She lied. At that moment, she noticed Irene was always asking her everything about Prince Ire. She always thought she was jealous, but she wasn't sure anymore. The reason she went to Prince Ire's apartment when she got back to the palace was because Irene had begged her that she wanted her assistant to follow her to the palace and looked around to see what Prince Ire was like, and what he could like. Could there have been something she doesn't know?
Irene didn't notice anything. Instead, she believed her and the two sat down next to each other.
"She's using your sister to get information." Ara said as the two made their way in. Inside the church was quiet. While they were outside, they saw Moyin on the stage ministering, but by the time they walked in, a different person was on the pulpit instead. They took their seats and found Moyin where he was sitting. Both Prince Ire and Moyin greeted with their eyes just like they did in the past. Even Ara didn't notice. No one spotted their greetings.
Some minutes later, just like Moyin had said, a flier was shared to everyone. This was the plan between them for what he arranged on giving Prince Ire get to him. They couldn't meet. All these he explained to Aramade. It was dangerous for them to meet one on one. His life was not safe. The first day they met at the Gce centre, he got a note delivered to him which simply warned him to stay away from Ire. Stay away from a murderer. If you love your life. Moyin knew something was wrong. He had intentionally stayed away from Prince Ire too after what happened eight years ago. He knew something went wrong. He knew something wasn't right too. He had known Prince Ire for seven years and nothing like that had ever happened. He couldn't believe that so easily.
Holding the flier and booklet with her, very slowly Aramade got up on her seat to save herself from too much attention. She was to take the note to the car just like planned. Getting outside the hall, this time, Ara walked very fast to finish the task on time. While using Prince Ire's key to unlock the car, a figure stood behind her and slowly, a soft hand held hers. Immediately, Ara screamed, totally consumed by fear. Their car was a bit far from where the hall was and quite away from people's eyes. She slowly turned, facing none other than Irene herself. "Irene. It's you." Ara sounded like she wasn't really scared. "You scared me actually."
Irene's smile appeared with a hint of dislike. She didn't even bother to hide it. "Stop talking like I know your ass from anywhere." She eyed Ara picking up the booklet on the floor. She laughed, every of the sound she made, sounding so fake and evil. "You both think you can get away with any evidence right?" She laughed devilshly ignoring Aramade. Irene checked the booklet but nothing was in there. She was suddenly angry. "Where the hell is the disk?" Then she checked the flier again, turned it to the back. 'Fool. That is what you are'. She read and was about hitting Ara on the face. "You fooled me!"
"You fooled yourself." Prince Ire slowly brought down her hand which was raised at Aramade. "All we did was lure you out, and you fell for it. Isn't that cool."
Immediately, the church compound was floored by the police. Irene couldn't believe it."What...what..., what is this?" She stammered. Even Prince Ire was surprised cause he wasn't expecting the police yet. Ara stared at Prince Ire. "Did you call the police?"
"I sent the disk with me down to the palace an hour ago." Moyin who joined the scene responded. "I needed to change plans knowing somehow, you will be followed, and it would be an appropriate time to start arresting them one after the other."
Prince Ire was beyond surprise. "Thank you Moyin."
Moyin shook his head at him. "Have been waiting for this day since eight years ago. Sholly knew this day would come, this was why he recorded their whole conversation. I'm sure he regretted what he did that night. When he gave it to me that same night, I sent the video because I knew having his phone with me was dangerous. And immediately, I deleted the video and where I sent it to my phone. It was as if he knew he was going to die that same night."
"What! Sholly died that very night?" Prince Ire was surprised by the discovery. He really didn't know much because the next day, he was already out of the country.
"What's going on here please?" Princess Adebisi needed to ask after her good friend was handcuffed and accused for helping her brother in committing more crime. Prince Ire told the two ladies to get in the car. He couldn't wait to get back to the palace and watch whatever Moyin had sent. He was yet to digest everything he heard today. When they settled inside the car, Prince Ire knew he didn't have much time but needed to appreciate someone. Just like he had learnt from his Dad. There would never be that special time, unless we create it despite our schedule or anything. Prince Ire turned to Ara. "Thank you for everything."
Ara smiled, looking so tired. "I'm glad I'm still alive to hear you say thank you."
This time, Prince Ire chuckled. "You are the best. Just know that."
"Thank you." Aramade said with a cute smile.
Immediately, they were back on the road again. Prince Ire knew it wasn't over yet. He couldn't wait for too long. He needed to get to the bottom of the matter. Despite seeing everything turning out just like Ara told him, he still needed to confirm by watching the video himself.
