Chapter seventy five

75

"I can't even imagine all that has been happening because of her." Princess Adebisi said annoyed. Squeezing her eyes and hissing with regret. She began to confess how many times she should have known Irene was up to something. "Now I understood why Derin was worried that day. I didn't even remember telling her directly where Derin was going that day. All I said was, I didn't like the idea of Derin coming to beg you and then she asked me some few questions. How come I didn't know?" Princess Adebisi was angry. Her tone was sounding as if she wished Irene was still there for her to give her the beating of her life. She should have known that babe was up to something. How come she never knew? Falling for Irene's game really pained her to the bone.

Her voice was so clear. Even though at times she sounded irritating, Prince Ire felt this time around, she was reasoning so well. He might not know much about Princess Adebisi, but he knew she felt like getting down of the car to find Irene wherever she was. Give her some thorough beating until no one could recognise her. That was how mean his sister could be when she hated anyone's gut.

Princess Adebisi continued. "I can't even remember how many times she stylishly asked about you from me.  That means the day her assistant followed me over to your place, something must have been done. Jeez! She did take me for a fool. Why use me of all people! What could have been that stupid thing her so called assistant might have done that day?"

"Attaching a tracking device to my cars." Prince Ire replied her. "I guess that was done that day cause you took your time causing trouble you know. You really made it easy for them." Prince Ire reminded her, still with his full concentration on the road, driving as fast as he could. The fact that the two were friends, really helped Irene to get information from his sister. He knew his sister couldn't keep some things to herself, and for Irene to become close to her, she must have done a very good job knowing the kind of sister he had.

Princess Adebisi rolled her eyes. "Please, you don't have to make me feel bad. Not as if I like her. Just some pictures for the gram. She's so fucking lose than I am. I did pity you thinking you were going to end up with her though." Princess Adebisi grumbled, moving her hands to her ear. She removed the expensive gold earrings she had on and looked at them for some seconds before throwing them out of the window angrily. "I'm guessing she bought me with these stinking gifts like I can't afford them. Bitch! My pops is rich too." She unhooked the gold chain on her neck, destroyed it, and threw it out of the window with all the strength she had. "I will get mine with my money. Bitch go take them on the road." She hissed.

Ara tried taking a peep through the front mirror, but didn't succeed for a longer time. Immediately she saw Princess Adebisi turning her head away from the window, she quickly looked away. She didn't want any trouble with her at all. Ara wondered why she had to throw those things away, but she knew she dare not mention it out at all.

"You could have sold it out." Prince Ire said, giving her a quick glance through the front mirror before looking away. "You could make some cash with it."

Princess Adebisi kept quiet for some seconds, but eventually replied. She was no longer squeezing her face any longer."I don't need that stress. I have enough. Just drop me at that junction please."

Prince Ire shook his head. "You think I will allow you get kidnapped? Hhun! Can't you see no one is safe out there."

Princess Adebisi rolled her eyes. "I don't even know what's happening exactly. I'm out on my own so I don't expect anyone chasing after me please. Besides, I don't feel like entering the palace yet. I don't have any business there. I will be fine."

"Just shut up." Prince Ire said quietly to his sister and she did with anger burning inside of her. She didn't want to make a scene and she knew it wasn't even the time for that cause she simply knew something was going on with Prince Ire. She could see how their Dad was protecting him as usual. His favourite son. But despite all he did, his stupid son never did appreciate him. Princess Adebisi rolled her eyes at her thought. She never for once accepted Prince Ire. They never agreed. They fought a lot. But still, he was her elder brother just like how their Dad would always call them just to remind them they can't ever harm each other, but protect one another.

Through out the two siblings conversation, Ara tried her best to keep quiet knowing Princess Adebisi never liked to listen to her one bit. She was aware Princess Adebisi never liked her gut and she wouldn't want to embarrass herself anymore. To her, Princess Adebisi must have sounded so annoying, but she could tell she had been this way for long and no one corrected her or try to mould her character to become wise in ways she could see and react to things. We cannot always say we are this way because God created us in such way, when we actually grew up with those habits we knew we should have left a long time ago.

While driving, all Prince Ire had in his mind was getting back to the palace.
He knew they were safe because privately, they were being followed by the security his Dad hired. Deep down, he hope his brother, Prince Adedamola was fine too. At this point of his life, he chose to see the good things his father had done for him. Those times he helped him when he could. Now, Prince Ire understood how appreciating someone more could trigger them to do more by all means. He was done with the mentality of thinking someone was obligated to be there for him at all times, give him everything he needed, or be what he wanted them to be. Instead, no matter the little they offer us, it could be what they had at that moment, and we are to appreciate their little effort rather than trying to get back at them. Either our parents, friends we expected more from, or some certain people in the family we put so much hope on.

The moment the gate of Mumusi palace was opened, Prince Ire drove roughly into the palace compound. To his amazement, the palace security had increased. Everywhere was busy and he was checked before being allowed to park inside the compound. He wasn't offended because he understood what his majesty was doing.

They got down from the car and immediately, Prince Ire headed to the King's palace dragging Ara behind him and instructing Princess Adebisi to follow him. He knew Princess Adebisi could decide to leave and it wasn't safe anymore. No matter how they disagreed, she would always be his little sister. From a different mother or not. The only thing Prince Ire had in his mind was watching the video Moyin sent. Everything Aramade said inside the car still had effect on him. He couldn't get over those words. They pondered so hard on his mind. He couldn't believe how wicked some people could be. If truly Irene had been a suspect and she never bothered to plead she was innocent, things were starting to look just like Ara said. He now understood how some wicked people can take advantage of anyone for their happiness.

This same man who was now a Senator was his Dad's friend. They were so closed that they were called brothers. Prince Ire knew how his Dad had supported him on his journey of becoming a Senator he finally became. Using his influence and his money to support someone he never knew was pure evil.  How could he? How could people be so wicked? Prince Ire was damn angry. He didn't want to believe Ara was right. He was yet to believe the same person he referred to his big brother was nothing but his enemy. Same man plotting his death. And the same man who called himself this Dad's friend was ready to do anything to protect his own child. Prince Ire was allowed into his Dad's dinning, and immediately, the three walked in with so much curiosity.

"Dad what's inside..." The rest of the words he planned to say left his mind. His mouth opened for a while before it was slowly closed. A feeling of anger rushed him. Expression of regret filled his eyes. He hated remembering how much he liked this man. How much he respected him. His right hand was balled into a fist but Ara held it tight, holding him back. He calmed down and decided to remain silent. Prince Ire knew he couldn't act rashly. He stood before him and watched the fake smile on his face with regret. Now he discovered this guy never changed a bit. There was nothing convincing him he did. Still the spoilt son of his father. Arrogant and careless. Stupid and inconsiderate.

Despite how much Ara hated the man before her, she stayed calm. Memories came flashing  back at her but she held her tears back. She appeared unaffected. She had many questions running through her mind. Many questions she wanted to ask him to finally get her answers. She looked at the most ugliest heart her sister decided to get involved with. What did you do to my sister? How could you hurt her if you claimed to love her? What did you put in her body that led to her death? You scumbag! What did you do to her! Why? Why did you have to hurt her? Sis, I wish you are here to see his end. He's finally going to pay. For all he ever did to you. Ara almost cried. At that moment, she knew her sister was a human and wished her sister never had gotten involved with an animal like the man before her.

"Musi Adedamire one." The tall, dark, built man dropped the glass of wine he was holding on the table. His handsome looks and body which had deceived many ladies out there made the workers around them completely lost in him, unable to look away from him. He smiled again. The evil, deceiving smile. "You've really changed guy." He threw Ire a wink. "And it's been eight years ago we last saw. Though I see you on the gram. I never thought you would ever come home again. How was it getting the body you always thought made me look handsome and wanted by many?"

Before, Prince Ire would have smiled. This time he didn't. "So much regret already." He shortly replied.

The guy took his glass back and gulped down the rest of his drink at once to suppress his anger. Something had flopped up, but he played along. He laughed. "Ire, Ire....You were really lost back then. I didn't believe it when they told me you barely smile now, and you are now too serious to play with. Though, that heart never changed. I heard you are still as hard as before. Unscrupulously dangerous."

"You can drop the story." Prince Ire said with a smile of victory.

The guy looked up at his Majesty. "So Dewale lured me in here!"

"Idiot! Time to pay for your sins." His Majesty raised the disc at him. "This time, your father won't be able to save you." Immediately, some men in police uniform, harmed with guns came in with a guy holding an identity card. "From Maradina police station. Mr. Mark Peters, you are here by arrested for the crime of Elizabeth Babatunde, the girl who got killed and was thrown inside the pool. And also the death of Ewa Agboola. Anything you do or say shall be used against you in the court of law. James!" The guy called.

The guy bearing James came forward with handcuffs in his hand and handcuffed him. Mark laughed, acting like someone who had gone insane. He moved close to Prince Ire and smiled with boldness. "They are just acting. Don't think I will be staying there for long. Evidence or no evidence." He smirked and whispered into Ire's ear. "Just the way you saved me eight years ago, someone else will." Finally, Mark noticed Aramade. He knew Ewa had siblings but she never introduced them to him. He looked at Aramade. "You look alike. Just as beautiful as her."

Aramade couldn't tell what must have gotten over her. She stepped forward before Mark and hit his face hard, pouring all her anger into it. She moved her hand back to where she slapped him, patting the hot cheek. "Go pay for your sins. And incase you've forgotten this popular adage. It says, what goes around, surely comes around. She can finally rest now." Ara smiled at him. Dropped her hand and stepped back. "The past will always catch up with us. That's how fair this life can be. And that's enough for everyone out there choosing to be you."
