Chapter 64
Hard at work like it was her own business. Ara arranged everything that needed to be put in place, supervising her mom's workers. The party was yet to get started and she was already tired from working. They've all settled everything they brought on their table, but achieving that came with lot of stress.
The hall was filled with invited guests. Enjoyment going on already. As usual, many who didn't attend the church ceremony came to the reception instead, taking some of the seats. Inside and outside of the hall were filled with people posing different styles to get their best capture. Smiling at the camera, laughing, frowning, making lots of moves and enjoying themselves even before the party could get started. It was always fun for Aramade to watch the excitement on people's faces. The wedding party was always fun to attend. There was just something about it that excite people. The dance, the pictures, the food and many goodies shared at the party. Watching the couple was always the best moment for Aramade. The dresses were wow. The combination was superb! The men were looking fantabulous in Mr. Macaroni's favourite word. Everyone was looking absolutely gorgeous just like the ride they came in with. Some cars Ara had never seen before. She had attended many rich parties but this was too obvious for everyone to see enough money had been spent to make everything happen.
Ara continued what she was doing. Her silky black bony straight of thirty inches human hair was tied to the back giving her the chance to do everything she was doing without getting disturbed or feeling uncomfortable. Every blessed time she rock the hair, people were always staring at her, to the extent of some ladies coming over to ask her how much the hair could cost. Till that moment, she had lied to her mom telling her half of the price. Revealing to her mom she bought a one hundred and twenty thousand hair means she was rich enough to send herself to school. How many times she had lied to her mom on many expensive things she owned. Aramade was just another lady who love to trend codedly. Spending her money slowly.
Ara's dress gave her more attention. Her tight, short, red gown made her curves very obvious, getting the usual looks she was used to. At first, she felt a bit shy but she knew that was going to continue for the whole day. Despite her mom's warning on wearing a flat shoe, Ara ended up on her open toes, spiral black heels. The silver stones on it gave it a light shinning, making it look so classy and sexy on Ara's fair legs. She was used to walking around in heels when she was still into her ushering job. She wasn't used to feeling pains until her job was over at the party. The tiny chain on one of her legs was admired by people who fell in love with her shoes but ended up seeing her gold leg chain.
Ara looked extremely beautiful, getting several eyes admiring her skin. No one guessed or knew she came with the servers until she was seen working with them. She worked in a diligent manner, making the work of a server looked classy and extra beautiful. But before then, they all thought she was one of the ushers with how stunning she looked.
When Ara got to know the groom bears the same name with Prince Ire's surname, she began to listen to the discussion going on among few people. From there, she got to know the groom was related to the Musi family. It was then she realized this was the same party Prince Ire wanted her to follow him to. On getting to know that, Ara was excited. There was something Prince Ire made her feel that she couldn't explain either. But it was beautiful. She loved it. It was an amazing feeling every lady is willing to experience. Where you are happy and feel like a Queen. She was eager to see Prince Ire but he wasn't in the hall yet. After looking out for him for some minutes, she concluded may be he wasn't coming. But then, her mind was programmed on seeing her man.
"Ara, is that not your sister?" Ara's mom said, interrupting her thoughts. "Look over there." Ara's mom pointed forward, staring at the scene before her. "Check what's happening over there and bring Omoh here."
Ara dropped the tissue in her hand and went over to meet her sister. "I knew this girl would get into trouble," she murmured, matching over to where her sister was. She knew Omoh to be very stubborn and it seemed she wasn't willing to stop whatever she was arguing about. She hope her sister wouldn't get a slap at the end seeing how wide her mouth was opened against the lady who looked very annoyed and extremely angry.
"Omoh what's going on here?" Ara asked but the lady raised her voice even before Omoh could say a word.
"I don't have time for this bullshit! Your sis is insane!" The lady yelled out, giving Ara a dirty glare thinking they were together. At first she thought Aramade was pretty. She wasn't just attracted to her look and bright skin, but also her hair. She felt Aramade was just another slay queen with how popping her make up was. Including her nails, the dress and the heels. She was good at checking people out to know how to address them. Expecting Aramade to scold Omoh or say something which didn't happen got her pissed off and instantly, her feeling of dislike rose for Aramade. All of a sudden, she was angry at the two sisters. Looking at Omoh who shared the same feelings with her, she spoke up. "Next time, you should watch your front or better still get a wheelchair for us to know you've got a problem with your legs."
Omoh was angry by the statement she made. She was about giving her a response she deserved when the lady was suddenly dragged by someone.
"Tomike."
That voice sounded familiar, getting Aramade to immediately turn around.
"My slim doll." Ayoola hugged the dark skin girl whose facial expression immediately changed from frowning to a little light smile with a look of surprise. Ayoola brightened up her mood and she was thankful seeing him again after several months.
"Ayoola dear. So good to see you. It's been a long time buddy." Tomike's accent came up as she hugged him, scratching him a little with her ombre extremely long nails. While hugging Tomike, It was then Ayoola noticed Aramade. Shocked by who he saw, Ayoola couldn't hide his excitement. He moved away from Tomike, very eager to have Ara in his arms. His eyes roamed Ara's body admiring the beautiful figure before him. He moved closer to Ara giving her one of his charming smiles he couldn't help anytime he was around her.
"My favourites on one spot." Ayoola grabbed Ara in a big hug, kissing her two cheeks. "Always killing them with your looks. And was it Ire who invited you here? You should have met his cousin, Tomike? Then no need for introduction between you girls." Ayoola smiled, not even trying to notice something wasn't right.
That made Tomike stare at Aramade for some seconds but she kept quiet. She wondered why her cousin was mentioned. And for what reason would Ayoola mentioned Prince Ire in a conversation with Aramade. Her dislike for Aramade doubled. She couldn't say why. She just found herself not liking Aramade at all. She felt Aramade was an hypocrite who couldn't scold her younger sister. She saw the resemblance even though the two sisters doesn't share the same skin colour. She rolled her eyes at Ara. It couldn't be what she was thinking. May be they are just friends, she thought. She refused to say anything or ask Ayoola to get some answers for herself. But then, Aramade looked a bit young for her cousin. To her, Ara wasn't looking that bad. Tomike did see a pretty girl. A tall, fair lady with a very fine skin but somehow found herself not feeling Aramade's vibe. If Omoh was to be Aramade's sister like she thought, with what just happened, Tomike concluded they would definitely be alike. Not comfortable in her wet dress, Tomike moved to excuse herself. "Wanna change. See you at the table." She said to Ayoola and took her leave.
Aramade smiled, giving Ayoola one of her pretty smiles. "Actually, my mom was hired as the caterer for the bride. It was when I got here I realized this was the same party he invited me for. But I'm here anyways. Would you like to take anything?" Aramade offered him food and drink.
Ayoola smiled. "Still looking for a place to settle. That will be later. Hi," Ayoola waved at Omoh who was still holding her anger.
Aramade quickly took hold of the situation. "Meet my sister, Omolade. The opposite of me in character." She laughed. "I have a feeling she's still angry."
Ayoola laughed. "I don't think so. She looks even more beautiful with that look. It simply means, hey you, do not mess with me. Isn't it sis?"
That got Omoh smiling. The anger she had slow down and she found herself replying. "Thank you Uncle Ayo. I finally got noticed by you."
Ayoola couldn't help it. He laughed. Surprised Omoh knew his name already and had wanted to talk to him made him feel important. But then, Aramade told him she did a good job telling her sister how nice of a person he was. Ayoola was happy to hear that. Bragging a little more with his charming smiles.
Aramade held her sister on her left wrist, facing Ayoola. "We have to join mom now. Do not worry, will find your table."
"Oui mademoiselle." Ayoola bowed, switching to french.
The two smiled at each other before Aramade walked away with her sister.
"Stupid idiot! Is she mad?" Ara heard Omoh said after thinking her sister must have forgotten what happened. Omoh who didn't know Aramade was giving her a shocking look continued. "Do you know she came over and hit me where I was putting the whole blame on me. Half budget Cardi B. Ugly nails. But sis, I hope I'm not the only one who heard she's Uncle Ire's cousin?" Omoh cursed Tomike's stiletto nails, not failing to remind her sister what they heard. After she was done and finally realized her sister wasn't responding, she paused and stared at her sister. "What?"
"Water!" Ara responded. "Haven't I told you several times to stop abusing people. And whatever you heard has nothing to do with you. And don't you dare disrespect her again. If she happens to be Ire's cousin, I have a feeling she doesn't like me."
Omoh shook her head. She wondered why her sister was totally different from her. She wished they were the same in character. Taking that off her mind, she needed to tell her sister why she couldn't hold her tongue. And the best way to reveal that was to look innocent. Omoh stared at her big sister. "She broke your screen." She finally confessed the reason why she was extremely angry at Tomike. When Tomike hit Omoh, the Iphone11 she was using to take pictures fell to the ground. Omoh was totally pissed off because Tomike didn't see any reason to say sorry calling her a small girl that needed to go play with her books. Omoh felt insulted and instantly disliked Tomike. When she found out the screen had broken, she felt really bad because her sister had just given her the new phone. Omoh knew it was a gift, but her sister didn't get to use at all because she gave it to her instead.
"Next time, you will keep your phone well." Aramade responded without any form of anger. When Omoh heard this, she hugged her sister extremely happy. "I love you sissy. I was scared thinking you would collect it from me. Don't worry, I owe you so much big sis. You remain the best sis in the whole world." Omoh released her sister, kissing her shoulder before running towards their mom.
All these while, the hall was totally filled up. Very obvious the church service was over. Aramade felt her phone vibrated on her and immediately brought it out. It was a message. From an unknown no.
'Lady in red. Why so hot?"
That brought a smile on Aramade's face. Somehow, she felt it was someone she had wanted to see. Someone she was craving to hear from. Her smile widened just by having the thought of him on her mind. She turned around and scanned the hall over and over again. Except that, she wasn't scanning where her mom was. Ara's phone vibrated again.
'Behind you. My friends and I are saying hi to mom.'
Aramade turned towards her mom's direction, and there she saw the only man destined to make her heart beat very fast and her lips smiled foolishly. But he wasn't alone. Folu and Toby's mouth were busy with a bottle of smirnoff vodka each, smiling at her. Then other two guys Ara had never seen before. They seemed really free with her mom and it got her laughing where she stood because she felt somehow watching the scene like her mom gave birth to them all. She got a wink from the two guys each, while getting a hot stare from the man who seemed to have stolen her heart forever. Without any more reason to stand there and stare, Aramade made her way over to them.
