One Shot 18: Ownership

Learn this from my friend. HAHAHAHA.

~~~~~
The girls met up after lunch at their favorite food hub. It was actually a whole floor for foods only. There were a lot of food stalls that offer a variety of food— whether it was street food from different countries, coffee, milk tea, burger, fries, and other foods that you craved.
Every Saturday for them was girls' day— those who were in relationships knew this and in return, they also had boys' day for them.
They were sitting around one table— actually, they were occupying that large table in the middle and they were kind of gaining a lot of attention because— well, of course first of all, they were all good looking, and second— Layla was not in a good mood.
"I hate my boyfriend." Layla said while her face couldn't be painted, "I hate him!" She shouted.
The rest of the girls tried to shush Layla except for Lesley who was silent the whole time; enjoying her cup of espresso.
Everyone could be panicking but Lesley would stay calm and ignore everything around her to enjoy her coffee.
Maybe even if there was an earthquake, Lesley wouldn't give a thing and would still sit calmly and sipped on her coffee.
"Before you throw a fit, can you just tell us what happen, Lay?" Silvanna— another calm person— asked Layla before she drank on her milk tea.
"I gave him a gift and he refused it." Layla answered while gripping on the burger she was about to eat, "He rejected my gift! Can you imagine that? What kind of boyfriend is he?"
"What? Clint rejected your gift? Why?" Miya asked while frowning.
"The right question would be: What did you give to Clint?" Irithel asked before she drank on her milkshake.
Layla took a big bite of her burger and murmured what she gifted. But they didn't understand since her mouth was full.
With that, Lesley grimaced, "Don't talk when your mouth is full."
It was actually one of Lesley's pet-peeves: talking while your mouth was full. Another pet-peeve for her was when a person was chewing loudly— like how a pig was chewing its food.
No matter how coffee relaxed her, when she saw someone talking while his or her was full or someone was chewing loudly, she would surely frowned.
It was what her boyfriend was doing whenever he wanted to piss her or to get her attention.
Lesley felt she blushed when she thought of her boyfriend. They were just in their fourth month of being official. Yes, official since it quite took a lot of time for Gusion to convince Harley to give him his blessings to their relationship.
Gusion actually took a longer time to convince Harley than courting her.
Honestly, until now, Harley was pestering their dates making Gusion annoyed but she knew he didn't hate Harley for that. He understood why Harley was overprotective of her since Gusion was overprotective to his sister Reign also.
Layla swallowed what she was eating and drank her sipped on her fruit shake, "I gave him a scrunchie."
"A scrunchie?" The girls reiterated except for Lesley who just frowned even more.
After a second, the girls laughed— well, of course, except again for Lesley who was still frowning as if she was analyzing on why did Layla gave Clint a scrunchie.
"Girl, what would Clint do with a scrunchie?" Fanny asked after taking a bite of her churros.
"Girl, you are single, you wouldn't know." Layla answered then she stuck out her tongue to Fanny.
"I don't need a boyfriend; I just need food, a warm blanket, a comfy bed, and K-drama." Fanny answered back while flipping her fingers.
"I've been in a relationship with Zilong for three years but I didn't even think of giving him a scrunchie." Freya said while frowning.
Layla rolled her eyes, "It's a trend now. It means ownership."
All of them made a huh face while looking at Layla, including Lesley.
"I mean, I read in the internet that girls wear their scrunchies on their wrist, right? And they give it to the boy they like so when boys wear it, it means that they like the girl back and they are basically telling other girls they were already taken." Layla explained.
"Oh." They reacted.
"And Clint rejected it? You are already two years in relationship right?" Kimmy asked.
Layla nodded, "Now, I have the right to be mad right?"
"Basically, yes. But does Clint know what it means?" Lesley asked after eating her cheesecake, "Knowing Clint, he would accept it right away if he knows it meant like that."
Layla was silent for a while before she slumped her shoulders, "Maybe he doesn't and I reacted immediately."
"Clint loves you Lay, and he spoils you a lot. You should know that." Lesley added while the other girls nodded on what she said.
"Maybe I should try giving Haya a scrunchie too." Kagura thought after eating a mochi.
"Oh Kag, we can't imagine Hayabusa wearing a scrunchie on his wrist." Wanwan said while laughing, "But I want to tie a scrunchie on Ling's hair while he was wearing a cute skirt."
They all laughed with what Wanwan said. The relationship of those two was always funny since Wanwan continuously insisting Ling to wear a skirt. Ling had a very cold appearance but was a softie when it came to Wanwan— same with Hayabusa, looked aloof but he was like another person when it came to Kagura.
While Gusion was really rude and a savage to other people but he was the opposite of it when it came to her.
She was thinking about the scrunchie rhing until she was waiting for Gusion to pick her up. The rest of the girls already went home.
Lesley was startled when someone wrapped an arm from her side and kissed her temple. She was supposed to punch whoever did this, but since his touch was familiar, she already who it was.
"I'm sorry. Did you wait long, love?" Gusion asked, his arm was still wrapped around her shoulders.
She shook her head and smiled, "Let's go home?"
"Not yet, love." Gusion smiled as his hand slided down to her hand and held it gently, "I need to buy something for your bratty little brother and I want to go somewhere too."
She frowned on the last thing he said, "Where?"
And they ended up in an accessories' store.
Gusion was about to enter when Lesley stopped him.
"What are you going to buy here?" She asked him while frowning.
Lesley was assuming he was going to buy that, but it was impossible. Plus, it should be given by the girl, not the boy.
Gusion just smiled and pulled her towards the store. They went straight to hair ties section.
"I want to buy you a new hair tie." Gusion said while looking at the hair ties and still holding her hand.
Lesley didn't say a thing and was just staring at Gusion who was busy choosing a hair tie for her.
"How about this? I think this will suit you." He got a blue scrunchie and showed it to her, "Yep, definitely." He added after tying the scrunchie to her hair.
Gusion then handed her another blue scrunchie.
Lesley accepted it but she was confused, "You'll buy two? But this is already enough."
"That's not for you." He raised his hand in front of her, "Wear that to my wrist."
Lesley's heartbeat accelerated with that. They weren't really fans of trendy things though they have couple rings and hat.
"You don't have to, Gus." She whispered.
Gusion smiled and pinched her chin lightly so she could look at him, "But I want to, so everyone will know that I'm yours and only yours."
That made Lesley in awe. She was touched with that.
She smiled at him and wore the blue scrunchie to his wrist.
"Thank you, love. I love you." He cupped her face before placing a gentle kiss on her forehead, "I'm yours and you're mine, only mine." He whispered.
She smiled even more, "I love you."
And guess what?
The next day, all of the boys who were in a relationship were all wearing scrunchies from their own girlfriend.
