In the midst of Pein's destruction on Konoha, the hospital was the first to evacuate its patients to the mountains. Lucky for the village residents but unlucky to those that weren't conscious as many had woken up to absolute chaos.

When Jiraiya woke in the dark cave system and many crying in pain, he had feared the worst. As quickly as he could move, he ripped the needles from his veins that gave him his antibiotics and shakily got to his feet. He wasn't fully healed but there wasn't a nurse available to stop him from leaving.

As the white-haired Sannin pushed past the many faces looking for their family members, he finally reached the light at the end of the mountain and gasped at the sight before him.

He could tell this was the doing of Nagato, his former student. Never in all his years did he think one of his students would be responsible for such destruction. He had thought Nagato would be the chosen child but in the end, as Jiraiya heard the praises of his newest student, it seemed Naruto had saved the day and truly lived up to the title instead.

"Naruto..." Jiraiya smiled softly, he was proud of the knuckleheaded shinobi but the sadness in his heart from Nagato's choices hurt too much for Jiraiya to walk past the tents of shinobi that had lost their homes.

Instead, he located Naruto's chakra and teleported. As he appeared before the surprised blonde who had been resting under the shade of a nearby tree that overlooked the village, he felt his vision grow hazy before losing his footing. He could feel himself fall but couldn't stop it.

Naruto had, luckily, shook off his surprise and quickly caught the Sannin before he could reach the ground. Draping an arm over his head, Naruto glanced at his sensei.

"Pervy-sage..." He muttered, knowing Jiraiya would have figured out who had been behind this by now.

"Naruto... He...I'm...I'm so sorry" Jiraiya grit his teeth at the shame he felt. Naruto didn't say anything as he helped the Sannin sit under the tree he had been resting at moments before.

Naruto looked at the man before him and gave him a reassuring smile "I met the real Nagato and told him about your vision, sensei. He realized what he was doing and gave his life to bring everyone back"

Jiraiya stared up at the young man before him in shock. He had thought the red-haired boy he trained all those years ago was truly lost but Nagato showed his true colors in the end. He found his way again.

Jiraiya smiled fondly in memory of his past student "I'm glad. He was able to find his way thanks to you, Naruto."

Naruto scratched the back of his head with a bright smile.

Jiraiya shook his head at him before realizing something "Naruto...The village. Where- Where is Tsunade?"

Naruto quickly lost his smile and Jiraiya took this as a sign for the worst. The blonde caught on to where Jiraiya's train of thought was heading and quickly shook his head "She's alive! She's just...In a coma" Naruto muttered sadly.

Jiraiya's eyes widened before he struggled to stand against the tree, determined to see her.

Naruto helped him "I'll take you to her, Pervy-Sage but take it easy"

Jiraiya sighed in relief as the blonde did as promised before he glared down at him "Don't call me that!"

Sasuke and the other guards looked up in alert as an explosion was heard inside. As if this was a queue for everyone to turn against the others, Sasuke found himself quickly defending against his own village. The root.

"What are you doing!" Sasuke snapped as he pushed the leader of the small company away from him.

He didn't respond as he simply continued attacking alongside the other two.

The Uchiha grunted as he was slammed back into a wall but Sasuke quickly grew angered and activated his Sharingan, catching them off guard.

The young Jounin caught one in a strong genjutsu before slicing his throat and performing a defending jutsu against the other two.

"Kuchiyose: Raiko Kenka" Sasuke muttered as on his wrist, a symbol glowed lightly before a sword appeared in his hand. He hadn't told anyone about the sword but figured now would be the perfect time to show off the weapon he had stolen from Orochimaru.

"Kusanagi no Tsurugi: Chidorigatana!" Sasuke snapped as lightning came blasting around his sword. He glared heavily at the anbu before him with his Sharingan activated and his lightning blade ready.

The two before him hesitated before dashing forward with the intent to kill.

the Uchiha was quick to block both with his sword and counter by spreading his lightning chakra out and electrocuting them both. It wasn't enough to kill them but it did daze them long enough for Sasuke to perform another lightning jutsu.

"Kirin" He stated with eyes that resembled the dead, no emotion in them whatsoever.

The remaining two root members narrowed their eyes as he performed the last hand sign before a rumbling was heard above their heads. Before they had a chance to dodge, lightning bolts burst down into their bodies, electrocuting them again and successfully killing them.

"Hm, not bad" An unknown voice interrupted his victory. Sasuke glanced to the side to see a man with an orange mask and one eye-hole staring at him.

With his Sharingan, Sasuke could see the Sharingan in the man's eye.

With confused but narrowed eyes, Sasuke turned to the unknown shinobi "Who are you?"

At that moment, Sasuke felt the man's killing intent spread across the courtyard and it was at that moment that the Uchiha realized everyone else was dead.

"Did he kill them? No...I would have noticed but how? Most of them were just watching us fight moments ago"

"If you're wondering why they're all dead. It's because I killed them." The mysterious man spoke again.

Sasuke glared at him "I won't ask again, who are you?" He continued with his original question.

"My name is not important right now but there is something I can help you with, Sasuke Uchiha" The man spoke as if he knew Sasuke's darkest desires. He spoke with the knowledge of the devil himself.

"There is nothing I would want your help with" Sasuke grit his teeth. The whole situation was making him on edge.

"Oh? That's a shame. I was looking forward to being rid of Danzo"

Sasuke's eyes widened at this. If he could kill Danzo now, they would be several steps ahead to achieving their goal. He could avenge his family.

"Well? What do you say? Come with me and I will lead you to him"

"Hn" Sasuke thought about it but his team would get the wrong idea. His brother might even as well. He wasn't sure what to do. Go with the enemy of his enemy or stick to the plan and let patience run its course?

"It looks like you're thinking thoroughly about this. I'll come back in a few minutes for your answer. There's something I need to do first" He stated before disappearing in a whirlpool of distorted air.

Sasuke watched him go. He had never seen teleportation like that and it only made him so much more aware of how strong this man could be. To offer up Danzo on a silver platter...It was tempting.

The Kage's had quickly eliminated the plant-like creature who had revealed his affiliation with the Akatsuki.

As the Raikage kicked up a fuss about who had potentially let the enemy follow them and helped them, the air suddenly distorted.

Everyone stopped talking as the distortion caught their attention, the guards and Kage on guard once again.

A man landed softly on one of the empty desks, a man with an orange spiral mask and one eyehole.

"What now?!" A exclaimed in absolute frustration.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes at the figure before them. He seemed familiar in a strange way but the Jounin couldn't place his finger on it. It was at this same time that Kakashi glanced around the room and found Danzo missing. It couldn't be a concern to him now, he only hoped Sasuke wouldn't do anything stupid.

"I am Madara Uchiha" He spoke confidently as he eyed everyone before him.

Everyone reeled back in shock. What Danzo had stated before appeared to be true and yet it was still unbelievable for Kakashi at the least.

"I have something I want to explain to you all" Madara continued though his eye lingered on Kakashi for a moment which did not go unnoticed by said man.

"And once you comprehend it, I want to pose a question"

Kakashi sighed as the others only seemed to glare at the man.

"What is it?" Kakashi questioned for the group. Madara glanced at Kakashi with what felt like malicious intent before it disappeared.

"It's about my plan: Project Tsuki No Me"

Suddenly, A attempted to lunge at Madara with incredible speed but as he passed right through him, everyone's eyes widened.

A slammed into the back wall behind Madara but quickly stood up straight "Nothing planned by the Akatsuki is going to be good. Who knows what you're up to?" He remarked as he wiped the sweat from his chin. He hadn't expected that.

"Listen to my explanation. It will all depend on your answer" Madara stated, his voice a little light as if he found the situation amusing.

"Calm down, Raikage" Onoki muttered as he came floating next to A "Let's hear him out and take it from there."

"Are you all ready to listen?" Madara questioned as he teleported himself higher.

"Why are you here?" The Mizukage questioned with a glare

"I was intending on weakening the Five Kage and taking you all hostage. It seems that is not possible" Madara answered bluntly while his eye trailed back to Kakashi.

Mai noticed "Because of Kakashi-san?" She questioned in confusion. Did they know each other?

Madara's killing intent leaked as everyone tensed "Correct. Unfortunately for me, Hatake-san along with the rest of you would put me at a disadvantage."

"What purpose would taking the Kage hostage serve?" Kakashi questioned with a deadly tone that gave the others shivers.

"To smoothly implement the aforementioned Project: Tsuki No Me"

"It is quite shocking to learn that Madara Uchiha is still alive but why would a man of your skills resort to such a roundabout method?" Onoki asked the question that was on everyone's mind "Surely, you have the strength to bring any plan to fruition."

Kakashi couldn't believe the Tsuchikage was really praising Madara's skill right now as he shook his head.

"The injuries I sustained during my battle with First Hokage Hashirama were too severe. I have no strength in me now." Madara explained calmly which rose suspicious flags in Kakashi's head.

Madara suddenly turned to Kakashi "You could say I am merely a shell of my old self".

Kakashi wondered if there was a deeper meaning to his words but Cee, A's guard, quickly caught his attention again.

"Is this a plan to restore yourself?" Cee asked.

Madara shrugged "You could say that but that's not all."

"What are you scheming?!" Mifune spoke up with bags under his eyes, he was too old and tired for this much action "Just what is this Project: Tsuki No Me?!"

Kakashi and Madara sighed at the same time causing them to glance at each other before Madara quickly spoke up again "I want to take my time talking to you. Let me sit down."

"We're asking you what kind of plan it is!" Kankuro exclaimed with frustration at the lack of answers.

Madara held up a finger "All shall become one with me and result in a complete possession form that unites all.

"Become one? Unite all?" Onoki questioned behind A "What do you mean?!"

"The Uchiha have an ancient stone tablet-"

Kakashi zoned out as Madara explained the history of the Uchiha. He already knew it as he lived in Konoha after all. He then went on to explain the existence of the Tailed beasts and how they were all made up of one monstrous beast: The Ten-Tails.

"And I will become the Ten Tail's Jinchuuriki. I will use its power to strengthen my ocular powers and activate a certain jutsu"

"A certain jutsu? What is it?!" Onoki questioned "What do you intend to do?"

"A super Genjutsu where I project my eyes off the moon." Madara answered without hesitation "Infinite Tsukuyomi"

Sasuke struggled with his inner self. His hatred for Danzo had grown more than his hatred for Itachi had ever reached. The darkness that had surrounded him growing up had never felt stronger and with that feeling came strength. 

He tried to remind himself of his team but even their bonds couldn't breach the shield darkness had created around the Uchiha.  

It was decided. He would follow this mysterious man when he returned and end Danzo once and for all. Without his team.

Kakashi, along with the other Kage's glared heavily at Madara. Since arriving, he had looked down on all of them and offered a better world through illusion but this was no way to live. 

"Very well" Madara muttered as he realized the Kage wouldn't hand over the eight and nine tails. 

"I hereby declare the start of the Fourth Great Ninja War." 

"Hm" Kakashi clicked his tongue, he had a feeling Madara would head in this direction.

"Are you mad?!" Onoki exclaimed.

After a moment of silence, Madara glanced at Kakashi before speaking again "The next time we meet will be on the battlefield" He stated toward everyone but Kakashi felt as if he meant it more toward himself. He simply couldn't understand why Madara was so interested in the Jounin.

It had the silver-haired male question his entire life to figure out what he'd done or who he'd known to receive this kind of malicious intent.

Madara disappeared in his teleportation jutsu again, leaving the Kage to think about the future to come.

With Kakashi being the leader of the Allied forces, he just knew there'd be more work for him than he'd like coming soon.

"You've made up your mind." Madara appeared before Sasuke, taking him off guard.

Quickly regaining his composure, he nodded.

"Very well, Danzo is making his way back to the leaf but we'll intersect him at the Samurai bridge" 

Before Sasuke could comprehend what was happening, Madara had sucked the Uchiha into his teleportation and the two disappeared.

Kakashi had felt Sasuke's chakra vanish and feared the worst. He couldn't leave though as the other Kage had begun planning for war.
