"Oh you have got to be kidding me," I laugh at Rhys' story of him discovering the truth about Nate's sexuality. "I don't know who to feek more sorry for you or Nate."

He chuckles. "Well at least I know to knock before entering his room. It's why I got so shitty with him when you arrived."

"I didn't look if that makes you feel better," He stiffles a chuckle, shaking his head. "What?"

Finally he tears his eyes from the game going on. "Maybe I wanted you to look, did you think of that?"

"I've noticed that you're more playful now after your confession," I bite the corner of my lip not covered in paint. "Is that because you just don't care that your guard is down?"

Rhys places the clipboard down and moves closer to me. Carefully he moves some strands of hair away from the side of my face painted like skull candy. Nate said he would leave one half intact and the other painted so my hair is kept over my shoulder to avoid paint sticking in it.

He adjusts the crown on my head before leaning closer. "I want to make the most of tonight so I just don't really care what people think or are going to say. I just want to enjoy my time with you."

"By sitting outside acting as supervisor?" I question and he moves back in the slightest.

"Lachlan's parties are always chaotic and I said I would keep an eye on you," I nod slowly and try not to react to his hand placing on my knee. "If you want to we can go inside but fair warning it's crowded."

"So you took the supervisor job so I wouldn't feel anxious?" I ask, feeling his thumb tracing patterns into my knee through the stockings. He swallows and for a split second I see the vulnerability flash through his eyes. "Come on. I want to have a dance with you."

Standing up I grab his hand on my knee but I can see the reluctance all over his face. "I don't dance."

"Please?" I smile softly as he shakes his head. "Dancing isn't that difficult."

He scoffs. "Says the ex dancer."

"That makes me a good teacher," I smile and try to pull him up but fail to do so. With a sigh I shrug and take a step back. "If you won't dance with me then I'll find someone else."

I spin around and check in the glass reflection to see Rhys getting to his feet. I knew that would work. Moving through the crowd I keep looking over my shoulder for Rhys who's eventually lost in the hoards of people. He wasn't kidding when he said it got crowded.

When I turn around to see Rhys I get a shock when his hands shoot out to grab my waist. I giggle and drape my arms over his shoulders, quickly picking up on the tune of the music. He looks around at the people surrounding us seeming incapable of doing more than swaying slightly to the music.

Oh geez he wasn't kidding when he said he can't dance. He's not even dancing. More like shifting his weight from one foot to another. I pull myself close enough for him to be able to hear me.

"You don't need to be so tense," I move my arms from his shoulders, moving to his hips where he seems to jolt back. Curling my fingers in the band of his jeans I lean back from his ear to gauge his reaction. "Use your hips."

Rhys looks down at my hands seeming shocked and I don't blame him. It was rather bold to half stick my hands in his jeans. But all I'm doing is trying to get him to loosen up and slowly he's getting the hang off it.

I smile softly when he starts looking less like someone being tazered. "You weren't kidding when you said you were a good teacher."

"That's because when you dance you either own it completely," I state, spreading my fingers to brush against his warm skin while pulling them out of his jeans. "Or you make a fool of yourself by not giving it your all."

Rhys steps closer leaving only a thin gap between us now as he gets the hang of it, his arm slipping around my waist. I get one arm drapped over his shoulder and feel myself slipping with the music, the music taking over my body which isn't something I've felt in a long time.

I close my eyes for a split second only to get the same flash I did when Blair convinced me to show the team a basic combination. My breathe hitches and I force my eyes open, locking eye contact with Rhys who is staring right at me.

The image still flashes behind my eyes but this time I can make out through the shattered glass a reflection of the bathtub. It's covered in murky red water with an arm hanging over the edge of it. I stop and my hand grasps onto his shoulder tightly, feeling everything in me shake.

"Kira are you okay?" Rhys asks, eyes widening in alert while I swallow the lump in my throat. She keeps haunting me. I release my death grip on his shirt as he leans down so I can hear him better. "We can go back outside if you feel like you're having an attack."

Shaking my head I furrow my eyebrows at the song the DJ is transitioning into. I look to Rhys as he realizes and shakes his head, coming to a complete stop while looking around. I spot Lachlan who jumps down from the platform the DJ set up on making some weird hand gesture to Rhys.

"Did he seriously just-"

"Play Conquistador by our favorite band," He states with a nod causing me to smile. "I honestly didn't know he would do this."

I shrug and link my arms around his neck. "Well I love this song so no complaints from me."

Moving the beat I can feel a smile etching itself into my lips while Rhys finally catches on. His eyes are locked with mine and with the flickering lights I feel my heart picking up pace. Each detail of his face is being hit perfectly and making the colour of his eyes amplified.

He's got gorgeous eyes.

His hand moves from my waist to my neck, moving my hair to fall down my back. I try to keep a steady breathing pattern when our bodies touch completely and his eyes break from mine as he dugs down to my neck. His lips graze the skin of my neck as he presses a kiss to the area.

My throat feels dry and on instinct I grab onto the back of his neck when his lips start to trail down my neck. Each one is soft, warm and leaves behind a trace of why my heart is pounding so erratically. He's sending it wild and I don't know how to react to the intimacy of what he's doing.

"You've got goosebumps," Rhys pulls back with a massive grin and I nervously suck my lips in. He chuckles, moving my hair back over my shoulder. "I just wanted to see what affect I have on you."

"Did you like the affect?" I brave my voice although I'm sure it doesn't sound as confident as I hoped.

He nods and when the song ends, he stops leaning down. "Very much - do you want a drink?"

With a nod his hand latches in mine and I almost chuckle as his remains cold. He's always got cold hands while mine seem to be the polar opposite. I look down at our hands noticing how tightly he's holding onto it.

"Kira!" Blair's voice snaps me from my observation and I see her eyes flicker to Rhys who shares a mutually disgusted look with her. "Can I steal my best friend for a second?"

Rhys glances to me before nodding. "I'll get you a drink."

He walks off towards the kitchen and I turn back to Blair who's dressed up as a fairy unbelievably. "You and Rhys seem to be getting close. . ."

"He's not a bad guy," I state and she purses her dark red lips. "He hasn't hurt me physically or emotionally so he isn't the monster you think he is. "

"He beat Derek to a state of unconscious."

I resist the words he probably deserved it and alter them. "Do you know why he did that? I can almost guarantee that he had a reason."

"I just don't want to see you in tears over him. You know that, right?" I nod slowly at her concern and she sighs. "I'm trying to keep you safe from what I turned in to because sometimes badboy's turn out to live up to their reputation."

"Like Derek?" She nods timidly and I cross my arms over my chest. "I thought you came with him tonight."

"Yeah he's in the bathroom."

"I'm back," Derek presses a kiss to her cheek before his eyes narrow in on me with a glint in them. "Hey Kira. It's good to see you again."

I nod and grit my teeth into a smile. "I wish I could say the same."

He tilts his head in amusement while I watch Blair roll her eyes. "Good to know you two get along after all this time. "

Maybe if he didn't reunite with me by inquiring about Rhys and leaving a scratch from when he almost had me by the throat I wouldn't have such a problem. Yeah that's bullshit, I would still hate his guts.

"It's not her fault she's been brainwashed-" Someone knocks into Derek and just like that what was in his cup is now on Blair's top. "Dude watch wear you're fucking going!"

The drunken idiot only laughs before crashing into a wall and slouching down. "Ugh. I'll be back, just wait here because I need to ask you something."

Before I can protest she walks off leaving me alone with a pissed off Derek. I swallow and hesitantly look at him as his nostrils flare, eyes narrowing in on me. His dark eyes do a once over of my outfit and he chuckles humorlessly.

"I'm surprised Rhys would leave your side," He starts and steps closer but I stand my ground. "It would be so easy for someone to take advantage of you right now. But he's left you vulnerable and weak."

He tries to touch me but I smack his hand away with a frown. "I'm not vulnerable."

"Oh yes you are Kira," Before I can react I'm slammed back into the wall and instantly I can smell the alcohol in his breathe. His hands are planted either side of my head and I shrink back into the wall. "I could easily force myself onto you or even beat you to the point where you really do look like a skeleton."

"You wouldn't-"

"Yes I would and I could get away with it as well. Because your loverboy that you were dancing with has at least eight people pissed off at him," He smiles darkly and I swear I'm becoming a part of the wallpaper. "You wouldn't say it was me because you don't want me to crush Blair's fragile heart again. So you would lie."

"You're using her."

He inhales through his teeth and shrugs. "If only she could see that but she's too stupid to catch on."

"Don't call her that." I raise my voice and clench my jaw, he quirks an eyebrow at the change of attitude. Oh god. "She's not as stupid as you may think and I would think you would get a shock at how smart she really is. She dumbs herself down to make you feel masculine."

Oh my god. Shut up. Shut up. Shut. Up.

Derek's smirk wipes off of his face and the look becomes menacing. "You're a foolish little bitch that needs to keep her mouth shut. Or maybe someone needs to do that for you."

He lowers one arm to get his phone out. My eyes can't help but flicker around trying to find Rhys until I stop myself. You don't need him to protect you all the time. I narrow my eyes and straight up my cowering posture when he shoves his phone in my face while removing the cage his arms provided around me.

The photo is surprisingly good quality but what's alarming is why he took a photo of Rhys and I dancing. He swipes across and the next photo is from Rhys kissing my neck, it looks intimate and sends a flush over my body. Is that what it looked like?

Derek chuckles and turns his phone back around. "Why do you have those photos?"

"As much as Rhys wants to deny the truth you both are attracted to each other. If you weren't - your prudish self wouldn't have allowed him to do that," He points to the photo with his head in my neck on his phone but I notice the fact both are attached to a text message. "He can think of this as payback for hospitalizing me and you - for meddling in my relationship with Blair."

He steps back and smirks. "What do you mean payback?"

"Here's your drink," Blinking a few times I notice Derek put more distance between us as Rhys stands at my side glaring at him. "Where's Blair gone?"

"I'll go check on her."

Derek walks away and out of our sight. "What was he talking to you about?"

"You said yourself you want to have a good night," I state, avoiding his question while Rhys keeps looking over my shoulder. "I'll tell you tomorrow, okay?"

Rhys reluctantly nods and I take a sip of my drink. "He didn't hurt you though."

"No he didn't," He just threatened to do so. "Now where do you want to go?"

His body relaxes. "We could go upstairs and talk? Lachlan keeps his room locked but I know where he keeps the key."

"You just don't want me to get you to dance anymore. "

His lips twitch and he shakes his head. "I would never."

"Let's go upstairs then."
