Bio (Shortened version)
(It's come to my attention that my Oc's information page is...A bit lengthy...so I copied and pasted the important information here and attempted to shorten it a little.)
First Name: Hebichi
Last Name: Makikura/Otosanka/Shirogakami (Goes by the last name of her adoptive sister, Makikura. Shirogakami was the last name she was given at birth, which was left on a note. Otosanka is the last name of the woman who ran the orphanage she was at for a while. She does not consider Shirogakami to be her name, though for a while she did use the last name of Otosanka.)
Age: 16-17
Actual age: 18-19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Panromantic + Demisexual
Height: 5'11 1/2
Weight: 103-120 Ib (She's underweight for her height and age, this is partially because she doesn't often get hungry, and forgets to eat while studying and tending to her reptiles.)
Ultimate: Ultimate Weapon (Genetically implanted, but not fully developed.)
Alias/Official Talent: Ultimate Herpetologist (Note: She's kind of half-and-half with these talents, she has some abilities from both as her talent started to develop/was implanted as the Ultimate Weapon, but she attempted to forcefully change it. She has some natural abilities, but it's mainly communication with her reptiles that lets her pose as the Ultimate Herpetologist. Every other part of the talent has been memorized or faked. )
Ethnicity: Part Japanese, part Chinese, and she has some Iranian blood mixed in.
"My name is Makikura Hebichi. The..Ultimate Herpetologist. I go by Hebichi, and the people I'm close to call me Hebi. So none of you call me Hebi. Understand?"
Appearance: Her right eye is a cold icy blue, and her left is a sparkling magenta. Her pupils are dilated and reptilian. Her hair is blackish purple with some tints of indigo and violet, while her skin is very pale. She's quite slender, and has long legs and arms. She wears the mask to stop people from being scared of her, as she hides are two long scars stretching from the corners of each mouth to her cheek, remains of when her mouth was slit open. In dim light she almost appears to glow from her slightly reflective skin. Along with her mouth, her neck is covered in smaller scars, and there's a small nick on the left side of her upper lip. Her arms are mottled and appear patchy with grey and pink discoloration marbled in.
"Perhaps I am a monster....I hide, as to not scare others away."
Personality: Reserved, and to most people, rather cold. She has a bit of a more cruel sense of humor, and appears quite dark and moody. Sometimes she's slow to anger, other times shockingly quick. She'll either stay an ominous sort of calm, or lash out in a bit of a disgusted or superior way. She prefers to spend time alone- she prefers her reptiles to people. Hebichi does in fact quite enjoy making up myths and stories- she knows many of the tales about dragons or snakes. Along with that, she's uncannily good at telling when people are lying- perhaps because she's a liar herself, perhaps from noticing the little changes they produce. When her reptiles are insulted and brought into the matter, she goes into a fit of rage, threatening those around her. She enjoys talking about her pets and companions, and often refers to them with warmth and pride. It's actually a bit cute, a happier side to her. To people she's taken a liking to, she'll be very gentle and calm with them, being protective as well. Unfortunately, when her mood turns, she might choose to frighten or emotionally hurt them. She has a number of unhealthy beliefs about herself, and will often act as though she is not on the same level as humans- not in a good way. Along with that, while calm or even smug in the majority of violent situations, sometimes emotional aspects will cause her to break down and withdraw within herself. Panic attacks cause her to lash out at everyone around her.
"Scars stay, but the real pain behind them is the failure. What caused them. When you leave an imprint of someone emotionally...they never move past you. They never forget you."
Zodiac sign: Dragon/Scorpio
"Phoenixes rise from the ashes. Dragons never die in the first place."
Birthday: November 13th
"Thirteenth...the day of bad luck..the day I was born." (Not wanting to celebrate her birthday.)
Flaws/Fears: Sleep deprivation, haphephobia, and a fear of needles used on her- though, she does keep an odd amount of medical syringes and sewing needles around her. She's quite bad at truly sympathizing with people and is worse at comforting them. Though, if they truly mean a lot to her, she'll hug them and rub their back or play with their hair to try and calm them down. During panic attacks she usually hides on the ground by a wall or corner, covering her face with her knees and wrapping her arms around herself. Touch can have various effects on her- her fear developed, and so over time, she can grow comfortable with touching certain people- it varies on the person. Touching her can cause her to become shaky, nervous, lean into the touch, or lash out either verbally or physically. When stressed, Hebichi fidgets by scratching her neck, messing with her necklace, and playing with a small doll of her sister.
"G-get away from me!!! Get back!! I -I-I... "
Habits: She often takes long walks, and will absentmindedly shred leaves or flowers to pieces. Occasionally, she traces her scars with her nails. She messes with knifes sometimes, and keeps concealed weapons all over. Hebichi tucks her pets into bed each night by smoothing out their bedding and adjusting it around them- she'll also individually tell them goodnight and kiss their forehead. She enjoys collecting stuffed snakes and dragons as well. Hebichi has two notebooks- one contains drawn pictures and notes on everyone she meets, as well as other drawings of people, and the other contains scribbled thoughts. She likes sneaking out onto the roof at night to draw or look at the stars. Hebichi also has an odd noiseless way to walk, that makes her seem as if she's gliding. Paired with her skill of masking herself within shadows, it sometimes appears as if she's a ghost, materializing out of nowhere.
"It's not a GAME-"
Skills/Other: Hebichi's quite good at dancing, with a type that blends styles with expressionate gestures. She can imitate voices as well, and is good at drawing and singing. Hebichi's able to create detailed diagrams in her mind that let her make mental maps and measure things. She's good at creating stories and myths, and makes dolls of people she meets. Hebichi's also good with knots and is rather flexible, able to fit in small spaces and twist her spine and limbs in very unnatural ways.
"Precisely 36 feet, 4 inches, and 2 centimeters. "
Favorite food and drink: Lemonade/Fizzy blackberry flavored water and rice with butter. She also enjoys sour things, such as lemon slices, and her favorite fish is Tilapia. She's been shown in the past to be quite a good cook.
"Kokichi, last time I checked, you don't cook soba in fanta...."
Favorite flower: The blue cypress blossom.
"Representing death, sacrifice, mourning, rebirth, mystery, sorrow, otherworldliness, and desire for the unattainable, such as immortality."
Laugh: "Ahuhuhuhuhu.." "Ahuh-ahehehehehehehe.."
"Ah-ahu-huhuhu~ You really are stupid, aren't you~?"
Speech patterns: She talks in a cold, distanced manner, occasionally starting responses with a "ke". When swearing, she speaks in the exact same tone and doesn't use the minor swear words, so usually it takes a few moments for others to realized she cursed. She uses it to show strong emotions, both good and bad. She also has a habit of referencing the more destructive gods in her speech patterns. Has quite a habit of saying things like "By Hell, ..."
"I swear by Aphophis, you're all idiots!"
Unused execution #1 (After killing someone) : "Demons of Old."
In her execution, she's alone in a pitch black room, being surrounded and jostled by Monokubs. The ground is covered with robotic scorpions. Then the floor drops out from under her and she falls into a giant glass terrarium full of water. A hatch in the ceiling opens and a robotic snake slides out into the water and wraps around her, slowly strangling her. She eventually drowns, hair flying around her face. Then the snake begins to tighten further around her neck as it malfunctions, before blowing up. At this her neck is cut with shrapnel, the bandages around her mouth partially unwinding and flowing up in a halo around her head. In the end, she never fought back, believing that her death helped the others, and even so she'd see them again one day, as a spirit, or in the afterlife. When her mouth was revealed, it was showed she had died with a peaceful smile on her face. Ironically, when the floor dropped out, She had grabbed one of the Monokubs and dragged it down with her, until they both died, the Monokub trapped in her grasp. The Monokub didn't have any spares left, therefore killing it for good. So in her final moments she did get a revenge of some sorts.
"I don't mind~"
Reaction to a body being discovered: She usually examines it with a calm fascination, making her own mental notes as to how they died, though she usually doesn't share these observations. She doesn't really show regret for the deaths, except for Kokichi's death where she stated she had wished that she had been the one to kill him instead.
"Ke....How unfortunate...truly a shame...how intriguing. Their skull seems to be shattered."
Likes: Reptiles, books, mythology, sweets, swimming, lemonade, the moon, chips, cold, alone time, ice, quiet, sleeping, and dancing, which she's really good at. She was taught by a childhood friend, and her style can consist of old/elegant dances, or more modern stuff. However, usually it involves lots of hand gestures and fancy footwork. She also enjoys using rather long and complex words, occasionally even seeming a bit old fashioned with her habit of talking in a cold, eloquent manner.
"I don't need to sleep, not really...just let me watch the sky... "
Dislikes: Octopi, bright light, loud noises, chemical smells, hearing people she dislikes talk. She considers it hard to find anyone intelligent enough to interest her. Hebichi hates shopping, and will often go late at night or very early in the morning to avoid crowds. Or, makes a friend go for her. She hated people staring at her bandages, or her left eye if her eyepatch is all. And she despises whispered comments about her appearance or her being in a fire.
"Arg! You're all fools! Why am I burdened with your company? Why does no one listen? Why I can't you all. Just. Leave. ME. ALONE!!! "
Outfit(s): (Okay just look at the basic outfit one because the rest are a little too long and will probably only be used in aus or aesthetic drawings. But they're too pretty and complicated for me to scrap them.)
Original: A light greyish purple hoodie that's slightly oversized and hangs off one shoulder, along with black-navy leggings and combat boots with buckles. Along with this is her eyepatch, black bandage mask, and necklace which is a red cord rope with an amber pendant incased in a thin layer of glass. The amber has a small black reptilian scale in it. She occasionally wears a blue jade bracelet, and has a pinkish-white flower/flower clip in her hair at all times.
Anniversary/Formal:
A black and white suit, sometimes with a red tinted tie, with gloves that have silvery scales on the knuckles. She also wears a black cloth mask, heels, and her hair in a braid with lycoris flowers threaded in.
Alternate:
She has a white eyepatch bandage around her left eye, and wears a mask of black bandages around groups of people. She also has earrings that are the Yin half of the balance symbol, and colored a plum purple. She wears a black hoodie with the Yin-Yang symbol on the chest, and has a silver and gold ouroboros necklace. She wears dark gray combat boots with buckles and blue/black straps, and her hoodie is long sleeved. She has black gloves with white skeleton markings that are arm length. Beneath that she wears a purple and white turtleneck shirt with no sleeves. The back of her hoodie has the picture of a snake wrapped around a crescent moon, and she wears black jeans. To add to this, she has a small pink, purple, and white jeweled pin in the design of a winged feathered serpent, and sometimes wears black fingerless gloves with silver scales on the knuckles.
Sometimes her outfit will include a navy blue shirt with silver buttons, which she wears buttoned up all the way with the collar folded down.
Informal:
Her other informal outfit is a gray sweatshirt with a dragon design on the front. It's long sleeved and has one shoulder bare. With this she wears navy athletic shorts and her usual bandage mask that covers her neck. She wears one earing with this and her cap, which is gray with the cadacues design on the front in a frosty violet. It also has "horns" that are a magenta color. She also has a wristband with this that's a bracelet of alternating pale green and light blue jade beads, and finishes the outfit with almost neon blue sneakers and a collar-like choker necklace, which has a black and lavender band and a scarlet serpent charm.
Casual:
Her casual outfit is her mask but a white/gray one, a black sweatshirt with both shoulders bare and the words "I do bite" in large galaxy print with a white snake entwined with the letters, small grey shorts, and long stockings with a gradient of scarlet to magenta to black that go up to her thighs. With that she has a pair long black leather boots that go halfway up her shins and have a strap that goes over her kneecaps to end at a band an inch above her knee, of the same material as the boots. She wears one earring on her right side, and her ouroboros necklace beneath her shirt. She also wears her gloves and choker with this.
After Korekiyo's death, she took up a habit of wearing a braided red rope bracelet that crossed and looped around her arm three times, starting at her wrist and ending right about her elbow. She eventually just stopped taking it off, always wearing the bracelet no matter where she went.
Masks:
She has three masks that she carries in a pouch at her hip. They're full face masks. The first one is a demon with horns, it's completely black with red designs and a mouth full of fangs open in a laugh. The eyes are large and light gray, with red rings in the circle around the small holes that allow her to see. They only show her pupils.
The second mask is of a fox, it's dark purple with silver whiskers and patterns, and has a slit-mouthed smile. The eyes are almond shaped and blue, with the same holes for her to see.
The third is like a nymph, with a sharp chin. It's a light bluish green with opaque shimmering scales, and drooped eyes with tear tracks running down the face. The mouth is missing, being scratched out with black paint.
She's incredibly adapt at swapping out the masks, changing masks in seconds. She changes them to show emotion, laughing, smiling, and crying. When asked by Korekiyo how she acquired the masks and why she used them, she said she had helped make them and used them because it felt right.
"Put it DOWN you little BRAT!!"
Backstory(Overview): At the age of five, she was adopted into a foster family that already had one biological son and an adopted daughter. Shortly after, her foster mother died of a sickness. Her adopted sister was kind and sweet, being younger and innocent, but the father turned to drinking and spoiled his only son. When she was about eleven, she was caught sneaking back in the house with an injured snake, at night. This was because her father kept her locked away in her room. When she was cleaning and wrapping the reptile's injuries, her father woke up on the couch. Thinking she was an intruder, he threw a glass bottle at her head, which cut open her face. However, upon realizing it was her, he began yelling. The snake was venomous, and bit him, and Hebichi ran upstairs. Her little sister sewed up the cuts, and by then her father had died in the kitchen. When her brother threatened to call the police, she knocked him out, panicking. From there she ran away. One day, she met a boy who was a year older than her, who was the Ultimate Dancer with the name of Shigaeri Yakikuro. They stuck together, until he died when she was fifteen. The rest of her backstory is a blur. However it was highly implied that this boy was the leader of a cult/gang that she joined under his influence. The boy had blue eyes and black hair with white bangs and tips. Whenever she talked about him, she had a habit of speaking in a distant, dreamy tone, however when asked by Himiko if she had loved him, she laughed and said that no, she had killed him. This however, was likely a lie.
(NOTE: The flashback light did not fully work on her, which is why her real backstory is spliced in with her fabricated backstory. Hebichi never joined a cult, and Shigaeri never died, but instead turned toxic, believing they were a couple, and she left. Most of the rest is true. While the flashback light did mostly wipe bits and pieces of her personality, certain traits from before the killing game were magnified or twisted.)
"Nihihihihi~ No silly, I killed him..."
Phobia Info: She fears skin-to-skin touch, as for her it mentally hurts. She can handle holding hands with someone she knows, and can hug someone she trusts for a few moments, though after that she'll start panicking. She wasn't always haphephobic, as when she was younger her method of calming down her little sister was to hug her. She still uses this method as her only way of relaxing others while they're afraid. She's also terrified of scorpions, quite ironically. She's fine with other bugs, and was the only one who went to Gonta's Insect Meet and Greet willingly. However, the bugs avoided her, perhaps sensing the relationship to the insect eating reptiles she took care of in her lab. This made it so she was standing on the only clear spot in the room. However she can't stand scorpions and will freeze up upon spotting one. This is because her father used to constantly have pet scorpions that would escape their terrarium, and Hebichi would have to find and kill them, often getting stung. While it never killed her, it hurt terribly. However, the real problem was one time she failed to kill one, and it struck her little sister's face, causing her to go blind in one eye. Hebichi blames herself for this, and it never helped her father found this amusing when intoxicated-as he often was.
"K-kill it! GET IT AWAY FROM ME-"
Events:
Insect Meet & Greet- During Gonta's insect event, she was the only one to go with him willingly, though in the beginning she asked him. rather concerned, if he had any scorpions. While the others panicked, she simply observed, as the bugs would not come near her, leaved her in the only clear spot in the room. She didn't exactly mind the insects, and simply watched the others react. She was able to spot Korekiyo getting nervous, and figured out that he had some form of Entomophobia. Her attempt at reassuring him was in the form of a brief hug, which was the way she used to comfort her sister, however she almost had an anxiety attack before pulling away. In a way it did work, as it scared the bugs off him. For the rest of the insect meet and greet he stayed very close to her side, so the bugs would stay away from him.
Love Suite- There are two options for her love suite event. In the first, she appears to be reacting to a sudden "I love you" from the other. Her response is to say they're very kind and she's flattered, however they must be mistaking her for someone else. Depending on how they act, it can lead to her taking care of them as if they were sick, before tucking them in and telling them to get some sleep.
In the second, she waits nervously in the room, wearing an odd combination of a red and black and pink kimono, shoulder length white gloves, and black stockings. She looks up, surprised to see the other, and quickly leads them over to a sort of living room-couch area, where she turns on music, mumbling about how she wasn't sure they'd show up. She offers to teach them how to dance. Afterwards, her partner grows tired and they sit down together on the couch. What happens can vary, or change, but usually they either watch a movie and end up cuddling, or she asks to hold the other's hand and stays with them. Then, laying together, her and the other drift off. On the verge of sleep, her partner hears a faint "I think I might love you, ___ " murmured out with the following word, presumably an affection or name, impossible to hear and understand.
Trials- She never really participated in the class trials, however in Kaede's she believed Tsumugi to be the killer, and later the mastermind, as she pointed out that Rantaro's skill had been crushed by a blow from above, not behind, as it would have been hit by Kaede's shot-put ball. She almost managed to turn the tide of the voting, demonstrating a ability that could only be described as "silver-tongued" as she showed she was able to speak in a very intelligent, persuasive manner, planting the seed of an idea into the minds of others and letting them think out it was their own conclusion. However when Kaede was executed, she didn't show much regret, instead showing a distanced attitude. She did not interfere with any other class trials until later. In fact, she said nothing at all in most trials, viewing it as a waste of her time. However before the death of Gonta, she interfered in the trial if she thought they were going to make a mistake, as she wanted to make sure that her two companions weren't killed because of the detective being a fool. She would also prove her innocence if she knew she was going to be voted for, since if she was killed the true murderer would escape and the others would be killed.
While most people saw her as suspicious, she pointed out that they had nothing to fear from her, as long as Gonta and Korekiyo were around. Since she didn't want to die, but also wouldn't let someone else be killed in her place, because then the two she cared about would be killed. This was also a subtle hint for no one to kill them, since it was implied that if they were removed, she would have no problems with killing the rest of them. In the second trial, she was temporarily accused of being the killer- and in return, she played a role of one insane, snickering and telling them how the murder wasn't in her style- while not describing that "style" so she couldn't be framed, and pointed them on towards the true killer. Her plan had been successful- she succeeded in causing most of the cast to grow uncomfortable, worried, or scared of her, and ensured the majority of them would avoid her. This, as she later explained rather smugly to Korekiyo in the library (who had partially seen through her act and believed it to be something worth prying into) was to sow partial concern and fear of her, so that potential murderers would be warded off.
Voice claim:
https://youtu.be/KG6pErgxu5Q
A sort of soft, hissingly entrancing sound, at times seeming almost unhuman. When uncomfortable, her voice thickens into a sort of snakelike accent where her s's are drawn out.
Illness: She's been shown to be coughing often, though she's not truly fully sick. At least, she says she isn't. When she's extremely emotional, she gets nauseous and weak. Her immune system reacts by forcing her to cough/throw up blood. However, it's unknown why the blood is darker colored in these cases. While this condition is majorly inconvenient to her, it's highly unlikely to kill her. Other symptoms of this include muscle soreness, temperature issues, and lethargy.
"I-I'm fine...don't worry about me..."
Important relationships:
Korekiyo, Gonta, Kokichi.
Her and Korekiyo are quite close friends, with interlapping mannerisms, interests...they have quite interesting conversations, and there's a hint of warm between them. In each other is someone who truly want to hear what the other has to say, and finds them interesting. That's nice and new for both of them. Hebichi's a bit protective- and, sometimes she attempts to offer some form of comfort. They know each other quite well.
Gonta is someone she finds refreshing. He's not turned away by her, and, well...he reminds her a bit of her sister. Someone she truly misses. And so she's kind to him, a bit. More gentle then with the others. She'd like to take care of him, to keep him for as long as possible- even if her guidance and advice isn't truly needed.
Kokichi is a strange one. Perhaps, if they weren't in a killing game, they could tolerate each other enough to be friendly. Perhaps Hebichi would let him spend time with her, and entertain his conversations, and be one of the firsts to simply not care about his lies, not find him genuinely annoying. But due to circumstances, they hate each other. Kokichi grates on all her worst nerves. A shame to, as they would be quite the pair working together.
Quotes:
"Kill or be killed ... fascinating. Something this twisted could only be produced by a human mind. Monokuma cannot be the true man behind the slaughter. This is not his doing. He's nothing but a pawn. To truly escape, we must" discover the true culprit. "
"Why execute us instead of killing the murderers? Why make it so dramatic, and always something related to our ultimates? Almost like it's for entertainment ... Almost like we're being watched ..."
"I should strip every inch of skin from your extremities...break your legs and wrists, so you can't move, and let you die out in a puddle of your filthy blood..."
"Do not touch the glass."
Note: In different games, she's essentially the same personality-wise.
In Dangaronpa V2, her friends / acquaintances are Peko Pekoyama, Gundham Tanaka, Izuru Kamakura, and Nagito Komeada. In this version she's slightly more sociable and a bit more approachable, however her temper is harsher and her calm facade is replaced by outward coldness. Despite this, she enjoys seeing others laugh at her dark jokes, as it makes her feel wanted for something. She also doesn't wear her mask in this game, though she does wear her eyepatch. Her scars are less indented, and she covers them with a little bit of makeup. She's also less haphephobic, as instead of being scared of touch she's disgusted by it.
-She stopped wearing her mask because she realized her scary appearance would be an asset against any potential killers.
-Gundham wouldn't stop calling her a demon after he saw her smile.
-She admitted once to Soda that she really didn't mind the nickname, as it wasn't as bad as some of the things she'd been called.
-Gundham ended up including her in his god complex as another divine being and would refer to her in a group with him, like "WE non-humans".
-She always got irritated by this and would tell him to stop.
-Whenever she told him he was being annoying, he would say she seemed to have better and more civil control over her anger then most demons.
-One time one of Hebichi's snakes tried to eat one of the Devas.
-Gundham was scared of her after that, though he wouldn't admit it.
-It turned out the snake was actually giving the hamster a ride but carrying it in it's mouth since it didn't have arms.
-The pets like each other.
-Gundham declared her a worthy friend to him because his hamsters love her.
-He's way too clingy.
-Sonia hated Hebichi for a very long time, until learning that she had been in a cult.
-Sonia then ended up making a one sided friendship with her.
-Since Hebichi only retaliated, they don't fight anymore.
-Fuyuhiko antagonized her a lot in the beginning, but quickly warmed up to her to some degree and convinced her to train him in the fighting techniques she knew, as he was unfamiliar with them.
In Dangaronpa V1, her friends / acquaintances are Kyoko Kirigiri, Toko / Genocide Jack, Leon Kuwata, and Celestia Ludenberg. She's calmer and not as haphephobiac. She's a bit more sociable in this, as well as making jokes to see others laugh.
