0-1: Ceiling Fans

"A vast, clear canvas was coloured a deep amethyst. It spread far and covered the once cerulean sky. Millions of lights known as stars decorated the blanket of night, each shining brighter than a diamond. Under the veil laid a forest with trees as tall as whatever is really tall. Beneath the sea of leaves was a long-abandoned pathway whe-AHHHHHH!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Chance!"
That's what I am. A waste of a human being that exists purely out of chance. My name is Kana. My parents knew I would be useless and left me on the streets. A woman picked me up and gave me the last name of Harukawa, matching the orphanage I live in. I have undeserved royal blue hair and pale lime green eyes. I wear my dad's sweater all the time, despite knowing I never met him. My school's dress code didn't allow me to wear it however, so I took a piece of it and made a tie that I could wear with my black and white school uniform.
"Chance!"
Just a roll of the die.
"Chance!"
The power that lets people win the lottery and lose their loved ones at the same time.
"Goddammit Chance!'
God damn the cursed, worthless chance.
"Wake up you idiot!"
~~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~~~

I opened my eyes to be greeted by a raven-haired, red-eyed, slightly angry male. "Finally! I was starting to get worried that someone hurt you. I know you can sleep anywhere, but this is going too far!" Confused, I take in my surroundings. ".. I slept on a ceiling fan? Well, that's new." "New and dangerous. What if you fell! I do not want to be the one explaining to your crazy sister what happened." "She's not crazy. Do you mind helping me down first?"

A few moments later I was on the ground looking around. "Where are we? I know for a fact that we've never been in a place like this that has a chair like that," I started pointing at a cushioned velvet chair. "Correction, anywhere you've been. But honestly, the rest of us have no idea," he said.

"We? Who's we?"

He didn't say anything and started to make his way to the door. "Fine. Just leave me in the dark Mr. I shot and broke my parent's wedding vase." "Hey! Don't call me that!" "Well, don't call me Chance then." He smirked, "Never."

Giving up, I followed him out the door to be greeted by a gigantic chandelier. 'Thank god I wasn't sleeping there," I thought as I looked around. I noticed my friend lean over the terrace,  "Found one more" "Then that makes 16"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What do we do now?" asked one of the girls. Apparently, there were 16 of us teens all in the same building. "I guess we just wait for something to happen." "And how long is that going to take?" "It depends. It could take a few minutes or perhaps a few days." "Ughhh! I can't wait that long. I need to do something now!" "Oh shut it blondie"  "What did you call me!"
'They're going to be fighting for a while I guess. This group really is fun.'
"Hey, Rai? 'Mind waking me up when something actually happens." "Didn't you just wake up though?" "Just wake me up," I told him looking around for an unoccupied seat.
Then I saw it, and I wish I didn't.
A couch cushioned with more velvet and to top it off was a little teddy bear. It was as if it was made for sleeping.
Making my way to the couch, I noticed that the bear was kind of weird looking. I had a monochromatic colour scheme with a red eye, not something most teddy bears have anyway. Despite its questionable appearance, I still picked it up and laid down. I was drifting off to sleep when it started laughing. Thinking it was all in my head, I grabbed my tie, which usually helps.
Then it started to move.
I threw it up into the air and it landed with a large thud.
"THIS THING IS ALIVE" I yelled, grabbing the attention of the other people in the room.
The bear stood up. "He is," it said in a childish yet slightly robotic voice. "And violence against the headmaster is forbidden. I have no choice but to invoke my summoning magic. Save me Gungir the Spear!"
Confused, and frankly still scared, I got off the couch and started walking back to the group.
Another loud sound filled the room.
I noticed the group was staring at me but not the same way as before. Before it was the usual 'she's weird and doesn't belong' but now it was more a 'she's a ghost stare. I turned around and my heart almost stopped.
"IT MISSED! How did it miss!" the bear exclaimed, promptly throwing a fit. "Well now that I have your attention idiots-" "Who are you calling an idiot!" "Shut up and let me finish my speech. 'This thing definitely isn't for kids.'
"As I was saying before being rudely interrupted," the bear continued, "Welcome to the Ultimate Training Facility. With you are your dear classmates and I am the owner of this joint, the great and powerful Monokuma!" It then posed dramatically, as if expecting applause. "...." the mono thing then sighed. "Well since you all apparently love hearing me talk, I'll get right to the point. You're all here trapped here to kill each other."
The already quiet room seemed to get quieter. Then a couple of people started to laugh. This is all clearly a stupid prank after all.
"I see no one is convinced. Fine then. I'll give you these early and let you explore for a bit. Then we'll meet back here and see what's going on in your little brains. Bye losers!" He then disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
We all exchanged looks, all thinking the same thing.
'What just happened?'
