The End Draws Near, and So does- [1]
Okay, maybe this is SAO.
Cause yet again— another floor was opened up to us.
More rooms for potential murders...
Anyway. I'm too tired to even explore. I'll just walk around aimlessly.

"Okay, I take it everyone is here?" Byakuya asked everyone in the cafeteria. And he was right, everyone was here.
"Yup." I answered. "Then begin your reports." Byakuya ordered.
"Asahina and I checked out the botanic garden. There was this huge flower unlike anything I've ever seen before, but I couldn't find a way out of this place." Hagakure started. "Despite it being a botanic garden, there was also a chicken coop. There were five chickens inside! The only other thing that stood out to me was the storage shed..." Asahina added.
"So, did you have any luck, Togami?" Hagakure asked.
"I couldn't find any stairways leading up. It looks like this building only has five floors. Also... I found a classroom that caught my attention." Byakuya started. "It was filled with the stench of blood and grease. I suspect a large number of people died in there." Byakuya revealed.
"What happened in there?!" Asahina asked. "Are ya' serious?!" Hagakure asked too. "Alter Ego has mentioned... The Biggest, Most Atrocious, Despair-Inducing Incident in Human History. That may be where it took place." Byakuya responded.
"I will investigate the case surrounding what transpired in that classroom." Kirigiri declared. "Again? You always go solo whenever the situation grows dire. Where were you when Yamaha and Celeste's case occurred? Or Ogami's for that matter?" Byakuya pressed, making Kirigiri look down a bit. "Isn't it time you came clean?" Byakuya asked. "About?" Kirigiri asked in reply. "Who you really are." Byakuya answered. "Who is Kyoko Kirigiri?" He asked, receiving silence. "How about it?" Byakuya pressed more.
"I cannot tell you. I don't remember." Kirigiri answered, making a few gasp.
"What?! You don't remember? Like I'm going to buy that! How could you not remember?" Toko replied. "Don't harp on, Fukawa. And do something about your bad breath." Byakuya commented. "Okay!" Toko said flinching... in delight.
"The old amnesia card is such a bad joke that I couldn't even laugh if I wanted to. Did you honestly think we would fall for that?" Byakuya started again. "I thought you wouldn't believe me. That's why I never said anything." Kirigiri answered.
"If I may interject, did you all forget I literally said first thing that I have amnesia." I said with a sigh. "I didn't know of this place's existence or even my own when I woke up here. So is it really that hard to believe?" I asked.
"Don't act like your aren't in the same boat, Null. You are the most suspicious person here. Your surprisingly keen intellect, deductive reasoning, excellent strength, and— I hate to say this— great work during the trails, all seem surreal. I can't figure you out. You, are too good to be true, and she, is just as confusing as you are." Byakuya ranted. "Thanks for the compliments. But where are you going with this?" I asked with a bored gaze.
"I believe we should restrict where you two can go." Byakuya started walking up to the seated pair. "Give me your keys. The keys to your rooms." Byakuya demanded with his hand out. "What?!" The other two asked in shock. "I think you're taking this too far..." Asahina commented. "If they don't like it, they can start talking." Byakuya replied.
I stood up with a smug smirk and pulled my key out of my coat pocket. I handed to Byakuya making him flinch. I stepped to the side and allowed Kirigiri to do the same with a blank stare.
"Tch. Why you...! Why? Why do you refuse to talk so adamantly?" Byakuya asked annoyed. "H-Hey, what if they really do have amnesia?" Asahina asked. "Y-Yeah! It's not totally impossible, right? After all, this is the worst school, where nothing but the worst crud ever happens." Hagakure answered.
"Do you think that's truly the case?" Kirigiri asked with a chuckle. "Does 'nothing but the worst crud' happen here? Are you satisfied that you've restricted where we can go?" Kirigiri asked walking away.
"I'm surprised you gave away the freedom you so desperately want to grasp." Byakuya mumbled in my direction. Me and Byakuya looked over and saw Toko squirming with her hands over her mouth, trying to speak. "If you want to spread your bad breath everywhere, do as you please." Byakuya said.
"Th-That's such an honor coming from you, Togami! A-And I took care of my bad breath, so—" Toko said as me and Byakuya sweatdropped. "Well? What did you have to say?" Byakuya asked cutting her off, and making her flinch. "R-Right! Well, I've found something that caught my attention in a classroom on the fifth floor!" Toko said with a blush before pulling out a combat knife.
"A survival knife?!" Byakuya asked in shock. "H-Hey! That's dangerous in the hands of a serial killer like you! I'll be takin' that!" Hagakure declared holding his hand out for it.
"No, just a moment." Byakuya started. "While everyone here has a record for harming others, in the order I place my trust, despite what I said earlier— Null is at the top." Byakuya said. "You're making me blush." I said waving him off sarcastically. "I'd like you to hold on to this for a while." Byakuya requested. "I don't see why not." I said with a shrug. I walked up to Toko and held out my hand for the knife. She quickly placed it in my hand nervously before I held it like a dagger instead.
It's surprisingly light. Quality knife if I do say so myself.
No I don't cut myself. Fuck off.
"Hey, Fukawa." Byakuya called. "Huh? Is-Is it my breath? I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry my breath stinks!" Toko said panicking. "That was worthy of a compliment. It was a rather impressive find." Byakuya praised. "T-Togami... p-paid me a compliment. I-I'm dreaming. I must be dreaming!" Toko stuttered with a blush, before drifting off to perverted thoughts.
I slid away from the two with a cringe. Suddenly, the monitor in the cafeteria turned on, with Monokuma on screen.
"Hey, you punks! Come to the gym! You see, I'm extremely... extremely pissed off!" Monokuma said trembling with rage, before the monitor cut off.
Heh. He's big mad.
•
When we entered the gym, Monokuma was beating the absolute shit out of a fish hanging from a pole.
Like, he was obliterating the shit— no decimating.
"Damn. He's going 'muda muda' on the poor fish." I said with a chuckle.
"Didn't I tell you that I'm pissed?" Monokuma asked. "There is a thief in your midst!" Monokuma said, before punching the fish with a right hook. "One of you stole my treasure!" Monokuma shouted before the fish flew around the pole and smacked him away. "And here I trusted you...! I never expected you to betray that trust." Monokuma said on his knees and hands.
"Wait, what's this about a treasure?" Asahina asked.
"Don't play dumb! You even broke a surveillance camera! That's against school rules, you know!" Monokuma yelled. "Huh? Yer one short, aren't ya?" Monokuma asked, not seeing Kirigiri. "Gah! That must mean she was the thief! No, your all equally responsible! You all can wander in the streets during the employment ice age!" Monokuma said throwing a tantrum before aggressively jumping back in his podium.
"What the hell..." I said pinching the bridge of my nose.
"The only one capable of stealing from Monokuma... is Null and Kirigiri." Byakuya stated. "I agree. You all are everything but inconspicuous." I said with a laugh, before heading back to my room to sleep.
•
I was back in my room, and now I'm just my black t-shirt, black jeans, and brown boots. I kept the knife on my person just in case...
Wait. Those idiots can't kill me— why do I have the knife?
Eh. It feels cool to wield.
Suddenly, my doorbell rang.
I sighed and opened the door to Kirigiri.
"You love interrupting my sleep, don't you?" I asked with a tired glare. "Have you gotten taller...? Never mind. I'll be waiting in the public bath's dressing room. Meet me there in a bit." Kirigiri said before walking away.
I stood still for a moment before looking down at my feet. I tried to recall how I saw her just now...
Tch.
Don't do that...
Don't give me hope!
•
"Sorry to have asked you out at this hour. I have something that can only be discussed in this room since it lacks surveillance cameras." Kirigiri started.
"Go on." I said lazily lying down on a bench. She dangled a key in my face, that had Monokuma's face on one end. "A key?" I asked. "That's Monokuma treasure, right?" I asked again.
"It was in the principal's office." Kirigiri replied. "Wasn't that place locked?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "We have Ogami to thank. She unlocked the door. Remember what her will said? 'I will not go down quietly. I swear I shall strike back at the mastermind'." Kirigiri explained. "Sorry. I was kinda crying then..." I said looking away in embarrassment.
"I don't blame you. Anyway, thanks to Ogami, I was able to learn about Mukuro Ikusaba. This is based purely off intuition, but Mukuro Ikusaba is dangerous. In fact, she may be the one behind all of this." Kirigiri said. "Hmm. Didn't Alter Ego suspect the principal?" I asked. "No, the principal isn't the mastermind. It couldn't possibly be him... I think. But I'm still not certain about any of this, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell the others." Kirigiri answered. "You don't even have to ask." I said with a smile.
"I have a favor to ask." Kirigiri started, making me sit up. "I want to find out what this key goes to. Could you distract Monokuma while I'm working on that?" Kirigiri asked. "Sure. That doesn't sound to hard. Gonna do it by yourself?" I asked. "If this could unravel some of these puzzles, I should proceed. Isn't that right?" Kirigiri answered with a question of her own.
"Heh. Alright. Can you promise me you'll come back?" I asked with a smirk. Kirigiri stood up and nodded, before I stood up as well. I held out my pinky with a smug smile. Her eyes widened a bit before linking her pinky with mine.
"You're such a dork." She said with a smile, before I left the room.
~•~
"BUILD-A-BITCH, GET YOUR MICHAEL JACKSON LOOKING-ASS THE FUCK OUT HERE!" I shouted at a surveillance camera.
"What did you call me, you punk?! And what were you doing with Kirigiri?!" Monokuma asked stomping up to me. "It was just the two of you in the bath moments ago! You two were all hot and steamy! I bet you were doin' all sorts of naughty things together!" Monokuma 'mocked'.
"You're damn right we were! I had a fucking blast! YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT! WE HAD SEX IN THE BATH! HOT STEAMY SEX!" I shouted with a sinister grin.
Heh... She's gonna kill me.
•
"I'm gonna kill that bastard..." Kirigiri muttered with a red face, hearing Null through the walls due to how loud he was yelling.
•
"I wanted to know if you wanted the details." I said crouching down to Monokuma. "You sly devil! How'd you get her to! Seduction?!" Monokuma asked, invested.
"We can't have any R-rated scenes here! That's why there are no cameras in the bath." Monokuma said covering his mouth. "Wait. Wouldn't the humidity fog up the lenses anyway? That's why there are none there, huh?" I asked with a smirk. "B-Busted..." Monokuma said sweating bullets.
"Damn. You missed the sex scene. Bummer. I'll be on my way then." I said walking away.
"No! Get back here, you! DESCRIBE THE SEX! DESCRIBE IT!" Monokuma shouted running after me. "FUCK OFF! MY SEX STORY ISNT FOR YOUR EARS, YOGI!" I shouted running away.
"Damn you, stubby legs!" I heard Monokuma shouted falling to his knees. I laughed before running back to my room.
~•~
I was asleep in bed.
Or at least I was.
I opened my eyes suddenly and saw a familiar mask standing beside my bed.
I squinted my eyes so they didn't notice I was awake and reached for the knife under my pillow.
Before I could, I suddenly fell unconscious again.
•
I flickered my eyes open again with a groan. My eyesight was blurry but I could make out another familiar figure at my bedside.
"Kirigiri?" I asked. I watched as she moved her lips but I couldn't hear a thing. "What... are you sayin—" I stopped due to a large amount of pain in my head, making my eyes widen. The last image I saw was Kirigiri's scared face looking into mine as she shook me.
~•~
I woke up again, hearing the Monokuma announcement for the morning.
I immediately checked under my pillow for the knife but couldn't find it.
"Damnit! That piece of shit keeps taking my shit— and knocking me unconscious!" I shouted punching the pillow.
"Fuck this place." I said getting out of bed, and throwing on the rest of my clothes.
•
I've been looking for everyone for a while and finally found them in the gym. When I entered, they were tampering with Monokuma. Or at least, one of him.
The others turned to look at me as Hagakure pulled a bomb out of Monokuma's mechanical body.
"Oh fuck no." I said before running away. "Null!" The others shouted after me, yet not leaving the gym.
"Nope, nope, nope." I said sprinting back to my room sweating bullets.
•
I slammed the doors to my room shut and panted as I leaned against it.
"Holy shit. What the hell were they doing?!" I asked no one. "I'm glad I got out of ther—" I was cut off by a pair of scissors slamming through my door.
I stared at the scissors for a bit before taking a deep breath.
"They took my key, Sho. Just open the door." I said calmly. She kicked the door open, making me stumble forward.
"You've been summoned, short stu— have you gotten taller?" Sho asked mid-sentence. "I don't know. But, sure, take me to your leader." I joked before she aggressively grabbed my wrist and began running towards the stairwell.
•
I was roughly thrown to the floor in front of the principal's office. I looked up and saw everyone but Kirigiri.
"The hell do you psychopaths want?" I asked standing up, and dusting off my clothes.
"We're going to investigate the principal's office. And I trust you will help with our investigation?" Byakuya asked.
"I'm already here." I said sarcastically glaring at Sho, who smirked back with a wave.
"Alright. Sho. Get a mattock from the botanical garden." Byakuya ordered. "What gives you the right to order me, four eyes?" Sho asked drawing her scissors again. "Please." I said with a blank stare. "Anything for you, tutz." Sho said with a rigid breath before running off.
"Don't call me that!" I yelled before hearing her laugh down the hall.
About 10 seconds later, she cane back with a wide grin.
"Where the mattock?!" Byakuya asked annoyed. "That's not the matter at hand blondie! We've got a puzzle to solve!" Sho said with a chuckle. "What puzzle?" I asked with a sigh. "What the hell is a corpse doin' in the botanical garden?" Sho said before laughing hysterically, making the others gasp.
•
"Take that you piece of shit! Kept fucking knocking me out!" I said crossing my arms.
The corpse was the same person in the luchador mask, a knife plunged into their left lung.
"You know them?!" Asahina asked. "Not really. They knocked me out every time I've tried to sleuth around. Got what they deserved. Sucks that I couldn't do it though." I said shaking my head.
"It's safe to assume that the victim was killed by the knife stabbed in the chest. The bleeding seems to have stopped, but it hasn't dried yet." Byakuya said crouching beside the corpse, me doing the same. "I totally can't tell who that is!" Hagakure said. "No shit, Sherlock— there's a mask!" I said looking back with a glare.
"I think it's probably a girl. The chest poofs up... and the lines of the body seem feminine..." Asahina said trembling. "I imagine it's probably Kirigiri. She is the only one not here with us." Byakuya exclaimed.
"Seriously, why don't we just remove the mask?" Sho asked with a giggle. "I don't see why not." I said before going to slip off the mask. "Wait! Don't touch the body recklessly!" Byakuya shouted before I took off the mask. Before I could comprehend what he said, the body exploded and I flew into a wall, unconscious.
•
"FUCK THAT HURT!" I shouted sitting up on the infirmary bed.
"I've gotta be the dumbest motherfucker... What did I expect..." I said holding my head. I got out of bed and looked down at myself.
"I'm unscathed? How the hell?" I asked myself. I looked at a mirror nearby and saw I looked the exact same as before, except for my now even more wilder hair. My bangs kind of leaned to the sides, unlike the middle before. "I... kinda like how it looks now." I commented.
"Damn. Wonder what happened afterwards." I said aloud before remembering about the timer in my handbook.
I took it out and turned it on, seeing a large '1' in the corner of the screen.
"Still have no clue what this mea—" I said before feeling a large pain in my head again. My eyes widened before I held my head in agony.
I slowly and painfully looked down at the timer before watching it hit zero. I felt my breath hitch before my eyes rolled back a bit.
"...F-Fuck." I wheezed before falling to the floor.
In that moment, the enigma known as Null, had died once again.
