Chapter 11

After he had finally figured out a lock to place on the chemistry cabinet, Kazuichi made his way to the chem lab to find a mortifying sight.

"KYAHHHHHHH!" He screamed loudly, immediately attracting attention to his current area. In less than a second, Byakuya appeared, who soon grew just as confused as Kazuichi.

"What...? This is not what was supposed to happen," Byakuya muttered as he stared at the spectacle ahead of him. Toko and Lyra were tied to two separate chairs with excessive rope to bind both of them. Neither of them were conscious. Maki stood behind the two chairs, a determined look on her face.

"...Now they can't hurt anyone," was all Maki said before she narrowed her eyes at Byakuya, "and you should be next."

"Well, this is certainly a turn of events," Byakuya responded, "I wouldn't, if I were you, by the way, considering how the others most likely won't be happy about your kidnapping of these two already."

"They should be happy. I'm saving them."

"I mean, she's got a point," Kazuichi scratched the back of his neck uncomfortably. "This will stop anyone from being in danger, so..."

"Exactly. So I should take Byakuya down next..."

"What are you doing to Master!? A-And w-why am I bound to a c-chair??" Toko suddenly awoke, a fearful look in her eyes. "W-What happened...? Oh, no..."

"It's to prevent your other half from killing," Maki said pointedly, and Toko just sighed.

"S-So you don't trust me...m-maybe that crazy bitch o-over there really did have a point," Toko snickered to herself. "Master, come untie me..."

Byakuya ignored her, his arms folded across his chest. He sighed.

"I'm calling the mission off," Byakuya said, pointedly looking at Toko. "We should leave this area before people discover them, by the way."

"But what if they scream?" Kazuichi hesitated. "I don't think these rooms are soundproof."

"Are you guys going to protest against me gagging them?"

No one said anything against Maki's question, so Maki simply took the time to gag both the unconscious Lyra and the bumbling Toko.

"There. Now we'll never have to hear either of their stupid speeches ever again," Maki muttered. "We should leave. Kazuichi, why are you here anyway?"

"Oh, I...have the lock. Here, I'll put it on the door so no one can come in," Kazuichi said. "The lock will make it so that no one can come in from the outside except the one with the key. It can be opened from the inside by us without unlocking it, though."

"Perfect. We don't speak a word of this, understand?" Maki said.

"Hmph. Understood."

The three exited the classroom, just in time as well as people began to crowd around, finally making their way over from hearing Kazuichi's loud scream.

"Everything okay?" Hajime asked, concerned. He raised a brow upon seeing the unlikely trio of Maki, Byakuya, and Kazuichi. "What's going on?"

"N-Nothing! I just, just..." Kazuichi fumbled for a lie, and Byakuya sighed in irritation.

"Kazuichi overreacted like the idiot he is. He saw me, and screamed cause he thought I was trying to tamper with his lock," Byakuya lied easily, "Maki just came here to make sure we were alright."

"...Yeah, that's exactly it," Maki said quietly, confused as to Byakuya's motives. "Well, anyway, we successfully locked up this room, so no one should be able to enter."

"That's great! We've got to do everything we can to prevent another murder," Aoi's voice was full of conviction. "Is anyone down at the armory? I mean, not everyone is here right now, that means someone could be at the armory stealing a weapon! For all we know, they're using this as a distraction-"

"Kazuichi, you should put a lock over the armory as well," Sonia suggested.

"That's a fantastic idea!" Makoto smiled, "see, we're doing great. I know we can all figure this out together-"

"Puhuhu! That's a biiiiiiig no-no!" Monokuma suddenly appeared out of nowhere, scaring most of them.

"Where did you come from!?" Hiro freaked out. "And what do you mean, big no-no!? That's not a rule, is it!?"

"No, but it is now! From now on, there can be no more locks installed anywhere else," Monokuma exclaimed proudly. "I guess this one can stay, puhuhu...but no more! Remember, breaking the rules results in INSTANT DEATH!"

"You're a fucking monster," Fuyuhiko growled. "Dammit!"

"Puhuhu! Enjoy your school life...until someone goes to murder!" Monokuma snickered before disappearing. Makoto sighed.

"You know...this entire game has to be orchestrated by magic," Himiko interjected. "There's no way any of this could be real otherwise..."

"Magic and the occult aren't real!" Hiro scoffed, an offended look on his features. "Don't blame this madness on something that's blatantly not real!"

"Magic is real, don't you dare say it's not."

"It's not!"

"Please cease your yelling!" Sonia interrupted as she tried to stop an argument from brewing. "Everyone, just calm down. Please."

"Yeah we don't wanna upset Miss Sonia, so calm down!" Kazuichi panicked, only servicing to create more panic within the group.

"Why don't we all just turn in for the night?" Hajime suggested tiredly. "It's been a long couple of days...and I think everyone could use some sleep."

"Yeah, sleep is a great idea," Tanya encouraged the idea, trying to keep a civil atmosphere. "Tomorrow, we can all have breakfast and stuff! Yeah!"

"That's fine and all, but what about the armory? We can't leave that unchecked," Fuyuhiko reminded everyone. "I can keep watch, that's fine..."

"Oh, I can too!" Aoi volunteered herself, with others chiming in as well. Eventually, the unconventional group of Aoi, Fuyuhiko, Sonia, and Maki was formed. Before leaving, Maki was sure to keep up with a warning.

"And if you plan on anything, know that the armory is past your door. We will see you," Maki threatened Byakuya before the group of four left. Byakuya just snickered.

"I'm well aware."
