Sorry folks
I know it's been a while. Like, been a while.
Might as well rip the Bandaid off. I'm discontinuing Into Code. Sorry.
I just don't feel very motivated for it. And I don't really like the direction that I wrote it in. You know how you read your old stuff and you have two reactions?
One of them is: "wow, this is good. I wrote this?"
And the other one is: "wow, this is bad. I wrote this?"
The second one is how I feel about Into Code. It's pretty bad especially in the beginning.
So yeah, Into Code will no longer be written on.
However, I'm not going to leave you on a cliffhanger so I'll just spill out what would have happened if I wanted to continue writing it.
Ch 5's death would have been Hirohito. The culprit is actually complicated since they don't have any evidence to prove who did it. Only one and that is a handwritten note by Hirohito that was to pinpoint Kuro.
Without any choice and no matter how Kuro pleaded, they (except for one) voted for him.
You can probably guess who didn't vote for him.
He was about to be executed when someone saves him.
Toshino but he dies in the process.
Then Ch6 would have started.
Originally I wanted to write Ch6 in Kuro's PoV like always but I was thinking what if I made it in someone else's PoV, at least for the Daily Life.
I would have picked Kana because she desperately needed development and I robbed her off it early on.
So the Daily Life would have been in her PoV until they decided to investigate who the mastermind is and that's where Kuro's PoV comes back.
Also Kuro is pissed off at basically everything and everyone.
The mastermind is Hirohito and his shy boy, stuttering personality was all just an act.
He's very sadistic and has no problems in manipulating others for his benefit. Especially his idol's benefit, Junko Enoshima which yes Into Code takes place in the same timeline where all the original games came from (maybe not counting V3).
Turns out the location that they're in is actually virtual reality, created by Kuro himself. This was supposed to be Utopia for them to escape the outside world since it's in flames at the moment if you remember what it was like in the original Danganronpa games.
However, Hirohito manipulated Toshino to hack into the system to make it more of a living hell for them. Toshino on the other hand, did leave out so many clues that point to Hirohito being the mastermind to get back at him.
Kuro is saddened by this and honestly is pushing for everyone to vote Hirohito and have him killed.
Then they do, Kuro has no regrets in doing so and they escape and such.
However, it's not the end.
They all wake up in a room with VR headsets and they are very much confused.
Then they are greeted by someone in the shadows.
They question who it is and the person steps out.
It's an older Robin!? Everyone thought he died but nope! Turns out, it was an AI version of himself.
Into Code would have ended with the words: Welcome Home, Theseus.
Robin would have said that and was directing to Kuro.
So that's how it would have gone down with some other details squished in.
Kuro's mental state wouldn't have been the greatest at the end.
Now I'm honestly debating whether I should continue the Into Code storyline. Obviously Into Code will not be worked on but I did promise a sequel sometime ago. Maybe that could still go on.
Considering that I have a specific character that I need for my current lore that I'm doing what revolves around my other books.
Maybe but who knows.
So yeah, Into Code will not be worked on anymore.
Sorry for anyone who has been waiting forever to continue reading this. I just couldn't bring myself to write it.
You can go check out my other books. I do have a couple of other Fanganronpa's in the works both published and in drafts, in case you want to continue reading what I write. They're hopefully way better than Into Code.
Cya in the next one -Flare
