Chapter 5 Daily Life part 2
I was walking around to see what I can find. Hopefully something that can help us escape.
With only so few of us left, who knows who is going to be next line to be killed...
And I don't want any of them to die.
Unless one of them is the mastermind, then that specific person can go die in a hole for all I care. But everyone else is fine.
Speaking of mastermind, not one theory had flown through my head on who could it be.
Rin and Amy seem to fit the personality type but they were more like rude, insane type and not cold and cunning.
This had to be planned out sufficiently and I have to be the first to point out that those b*tches are no where near to the cunningness of the mastermind.
Also we saw them die. Rin with our own eyes and Amy's dead body.
Robin could be another possibility but he always seem to despise whoever is behind this.
He was too suspicious to be mastermind suspicious.
There were many things that I wanted to ask him but now...
I sighed sadly.
It couldn't be someone who is dead. Of course they could fake their death but that's too complicated to think.
I groaned and sat down, back leaning on the wall.
I should find a way to discuss this with the others, I thought.
Maybe they have better ideas than me.
"Hey," I heard someone above me say.
I looked up to see Toshino standing there, hands in the pockets of his jacket.
His eyes were staring at me, slightly narrowed.
"Come with me. I need to show you something," he said.
"O-ok?" I said and got up.
He lead me back to the VR room.
Unpleasant memories came flooding back and I strayed away from him.
"I'm not going hurt you or anything. There's something suspicious here," Toshino explained.
"It's not that. It's just that...someone died here," I muttered.
Toshino made a noise at this but it didn't sound like he was insulting me or anything.
He pulled aside some wires and pointed to an outlet.
"Look at this," he said.
I came closer and looked at it.
It was blue-green instead of the usual beige. Pixels were surrounded it and it looks all glitchy.
I looked at Toshino and tilted my head in confusion.
"Why do you say that this is suspicious?" I asked.
"Something is not right about this place. This is supposed to be Hope's Peak Academy but it doesn't match any of the descriptions from people who have studied there. In fact, from all the installations, this doesn't seem like it," Toshino explained.
"So you're saying...that this isn't Hope's Peak?" I asked and he nodded.
"But that doesn't make sense. I clearly remember heading towards Hope's Peak before blacking out...unless we have been kidnapped and taken to another location. Well I suppose us being kidnapped wouldn't be out of the question since we all must have passed out and woken up in a different place where we didn't pass out," I muttered.
"Uh huh...look I'm not sure where we are but I'm sure as hell that we're NOT in Hope's Peak," Toshino said.
"Should we tell the others?" I asked but surprisingly he shook his head.
"Can't risk it. If we have to, then we'll need to discuss it in the sauna. There's no cameras there," he explained.
"But there's cameras here," I looked around.
"Just listen...I'm not going to play around with the deaths. It's no longer just a game, it's a complete massacre. The mastermind...takes pleasure in it," Toshino explained.
Pleasure!? That's disgusting! Why would anyone take pleasure in seeing others die and have us at each others throat! I thought, angrily.
"I think we're done here. Kuro, can you promise something?" Toshino asked, suddenly.
"Hmm?"
I was confused.
Toshino wants me to promise him something?
"Promise me that...you'll live. Live to expose the mastermind and put an end to this. No more suffering. Do I have your word?" Toshino asked.
"I..."
This was complicated.
I have gotten lucky to get this far in. Considering that I usually lead the trials (I'm surprise as well), I thought I would be a target for some people.
Sora got close enough, if she didn't change her plan.
"Kuro...do I have your word," Toshino took one of my hands into his and I'll admit...
I blushed when he did this.
My word? Will I be able to live until the end? I wondered as I stared at our hands.
"..."
"You have my word," I said, finally after a while of thinking.
Toshino let go and I swore I saw him flash a smile of relief.
"I'll be see you around , I guess," he turned around and left.
I was left there with my thoughts and feelings.
One side was freaking out because we just held hands (in a sense), while another side was already giving out theories at the speed of light.
However, the last side was wondering if I could keep this promise that I made.
And I wonder...
When will I tell my feelings towards him? I thought, clutching onto my suit.
Will he even return them?
No I can't think on romance! We're in a killing game for f*cks sake! It's just that..., I sighed sadly.
I want him to also make it to the end. With me.
A/N: shorter chapter sorry!
Finally working on something that isn't DSMP or MCYT related. About time.
I'm excited and yet sad at the same time because of how close Into Code is to being done. But don't worry!
Into Code's story is not over! There is still the sequel to look forward to!
Hope you wisps are just as excited as I am!
