Chapter 4 Daily Life part 1
(I'm most likely going to be mainly focusing on this for a while. I'll try to focus on my other books don't worry)
CW/TW: arguing and yelling
Ding Dong!
"It's morning time everyone! Time to eat breakfast!" Monkomi cheered as he played the morning announcements.
I rubbed my eyes and got up immediately.
Yesterday was the trial. Monkomi leaves us alone for one day. Just one!
I need to take advantage of this before the motive. I need to put an end to this. Quickly.
I changed back into my regular clothes and ran out of my room.
My throat still felt sore from when Sora was attempting to choke me. It didn't bother me however.
I saw that the others have gathered in the dining room. It shocked me how quickly our numbers are decreasing.
It frightening me which is why I had to stop the game.
"Hey Kuro, come join us for breakfast," Toshiaki waved his hand towards me.
"..."
I stared at them.
"You h-have to eat. Y-you're getting a bit s-skinnier," Hirohito pointed out.
"..."
I shrugged.
Act normal Kuro. The mastermind could be watching, I thought as I joined them for breakfast.
I ate some cereal that was provided.
"So umm...what now?" Toshiaki asked.
"We haven't been doing much whenever we get these free days. Tomorrow, Monkomi is going to provide another motive," Ichigo explained.
"W-we can't let h-him get away w-with more m-murders," Hirohito spoke up.
"Yeah! We'll put a stop to this!" Amy said.
"Tch, be more realistic. Wishing isn't going to do anything. If that were the case, then none of the murders would have happened in the first place. And besides didn't you admit that you would kill someone Amy?" Toshino asked, taking off his glasses and staring coldly at her.
"Well if there's an alternative to getting out of here, I would take it. Probably a more easier way," Amy explained.
"Killing is the more easier way...technically if you're not caught. But I think that you would go either way to be honest," Toshino grabbed a cloth from his pocket and wiped his glasses before placing them back on his face.
"You know what! What the hell is your actual problem!" Amy slammed her hands on the table, causing some of us to flinch.
"I'm tired of your snobbish behavior! You never help during the trials, you're always insulting us, you think that you're better than us. What type of "authority" you think you are to talk down to us?!" She snapped.
Toshino said nothing. All he did was wince at her loud voice.
He got up and walked away.
"Oi! Where do you think you're going? We're not done here!" Amy went up to him but stopped as soon as Toshino turned around.
"You sure talk a lot," he grumbled and left.
"That as*hole," Amy murmured.
"That wasn't very nice of you to talk that way to Niisan!" Ichigo snapped.
"So? Someone had to say it. I think some of us was thinking the same thing," Amy pointed out.
"Why don't you ever think before you speak meanie!" Ichigo waved her arms around angrily.
"Oh my god, you're so annoying!" Amy yelled.
"No you're annoying!" Ichigo argued.
"Can we please stop the fighting? I can't stand it anymore!" Yuki said, pulling his hat down.
"This is the first time where I actually wish for silence!" Toshiaki exclaimed.
I got up and left the bowl of cereal there. I was tired of the arguing.
Tired of how almost none of us could work together as a team. Tired of that we cling to wishful thinking of nobody will kill when we have seen three people done that exact thing.
Uyeda's was more accidental than the others so I can't really fault him for that.
Are we really going to die here? No way out, with us at each other's throats, and no way of contacting our families? Is this really the end for us? I wondered.
Then I noticed someone walking past me.
It was Robin.
He didn't seem to notice me however.
He had his hands in his pant pockets and had some of his hair covering his eyes. He seemed to be muttering something under his breath.
I followed him because I was curious on where he was going.
We ended up at the sauna where Robin entered in, still not noticing my presence.
What is he doing? I wondered as I crept in.
I hid behind a laundry basket.
Robin was tapping onto something before muttering, "Sh*t" under his breath.
He walked away in a hurry.
I waited until he was out of sight.
I walked up to where he was at.
It was a locker. Just a regular locker. What was so interesting about a locker?
I tapped on the locker slightly.
Hollow but something was in due to the buzzing inside.
It sounded like there was an electronic in there. I wasn't quite sure what though.
Well Robin seems to be hiding something. I need to ask him what, I thought.
I backed out before tripping on something.
A wire...
Where does that connect to?
I followed the wire to a very small outlet.
Why would there be an outlet here in the sauna? I wondered.
It didn't look like it was being affected. No burns, no water droplets, no nothing.
It was...ok.
I hesitantly reached out a finger to touch it. Was it a good idea? Maybe not.
(No sh*t Sherlock. Don't go booping random outlets in saunas)
It didn't electricity me nor did it gave a spark.
Almost like it was dead(?). So why is that wire attached to the outlet?
I pulled on it but it refused to budge.
I pulled on it even more. Nothing.
I pulled it again and this time it budged a little.
Progress! I thought.
But where does the wire even lead?
I followed the wire all the way to the closed locker. It went through a small crack through the door.
I tried to open the locker but it didn't open no matter how many times I try to jiggle the locker latch lock.
What if I pulled the wire completely off? What would happen? I wondered.
Is it stupid? Yeah. A dumb idea? Absolutely! But worth a shot. Maybe I can find something so we can get out.
That possibility filled me with hope so I want back to the wire.
I pulled on it as hard as I can. I'm not very strong and the wire was in there tightly. But it did move a little.
I kept pulling it. Eventually, the wire came off.
The buzzing sound that was in the locker stopped.
It was complete utter silence.
I sighed deeply.
Well that was a waste of time, I thought.
Not even a second later after I thought that, did the room flashed red and an alarm went off.
"Aah!" I screamed and covered my ears.
What the hell is that noise?! I mentally screamed.
"Everyone head to the VR room on the second floor and put on the headset immediately! The system is already on so no need to worry about turning it on. Go quickly or you'll suffer a fate worse than a punishment!" Monkomi's hurried voice could be heard from the speakers.
Damn is this really the time to be playing games! I thought angrily, getting up while still covering my ears.
My ears started to ring as I ran down the hall to the second floor. I didn't run into anyone up until I reached the VR room.
Everyone was already there.
"NOW I REALLY WANT SILENCE!" Toshiaki yelled.
"WILL YOU SHUT UP NOW!" Amy screamed at him.
"EVERYONE GRAB THE HEADSETS!" Robin shouted.
"WHAT!" Ichigo asked.
Yuki grabbed the nearest headset and tossed it to Ichigo. He tapped his ears and pointed to her.
Ichigo mouthed an 'Oh.'
Just what the hell is going on! I thought.
The alarm was still blaring.
Everyone was putting on their headsets while I was just standing there, unsure of what to do.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? PUT IT ON!" Ichigo yelled.
"WELL AREN'T YOU A LITTLE CURIOUS ON WHAT'S GOING ON!" I shouted.
"KURO! NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR THIS! WE'LL FIGURE IT OUT LATER!" Robin shouted.
I huffed angrily and put on the headset and sat down.
"Ok now what?" I muttered to myself, knowing full well that nobody was able to hear me due to the alarm.
Then my vision went black.
...
I woke up on something cold.
My vision was blurry and I could see white and grey.
Something cold and wet was falling down on my face.
Where am I? I thought.
I racked my brain, trying to remember what happened.
So I was at the sauna and found a mysterious wire. I managed to pull on it and it came off of the outlet. Then an alarm went off. Then VR room. Everyone was yelling. My vision went black after putting on the headset...
I forced my eyes open to see...
Snow?
Am I...outside?
I have many questions, I thought and I placed my hands in front of me to push myself up.
When I noticed them, my hands looked all rubbery and pixelated. If that makes any sense.
It was a little awkward standing up.
I feel like I'm taller than this, I thought groggily.
I looked to see where I was.
I was in a forest where it was snowing.
Snowing...
I'm definitely outside but not where I recognize the place.
Where am I? I wondered for a second time.
I glanced around to see if I could see a familiar land point or a familiar face.
Nothing.
Damn it! I'm lost now, I thought.
The snow was falling faster now and the wind blowing was not helping my vision.
I need to find shelter and fast! I thought and went directly where a dirt path was. Maybe there is something where the path ends!
There was a river near path and I glanced at it.
Wait...is that really me? I took one good look at my reflection.
That's not me! I thought.
Well it looked similar to me. Same hair style, same swirly ahoge, same clothes and even the same bright green eyes.
I look like a fu*king chibi character!
A/N: this whole chapter will be completely different from any chapter that I'll write. The trials are still going to be the same don't worry.
I can't draw chibi character so I'm going to leave it up to your imagination
I'm excited to show this off ^^
