Ding Dong!

"Hoohoo~ wake up everybody. It's time for breakfast. Chop chop," Monkomi said from a screen.

I opened my eyes and just lay there. It's been a day since the trial. One day where nothing happened and Monkomi left us alone. One day. One...day...?

What was he planning during that time? No.

What was the mastermind planning?

Whatever it was, I didn't like it. I never trusted my gut since it usually gets me in trouble and is always wrong but...nowadays even my gut feeling is telling me that I shouldn't just laze around during these "days off." I need to do something productive in stopping this game.

I got up and changed into my regular uniform. I left my dorm to meet the others up at breakfast.

Sure enough, they were all there.

It shocked me that how quickly our numbers were decreasing. We came here as 16 and now we're 12. We'll keep decreasing if we don't put an end to this. (I swear if I make a miscalculation >:(

"Oh Kuro you're here," Toshiaki said, turning his head towards me.

I blinked and sat down in one of the chairs next to Amy. We kept swapping seating places but I couldn't help glancing over to the empty spots where our classmates once sat. It saddens me.

"So we are all here. We might want to discuss what to do now," Sora said. Robin cleared his throat and lowered his voice.

"Maybe not here since...you know the cameras," he explained.

"So wait you're saying that the mastermind is listening in on our conversation?" Jun asked.

"And you're only telling us now?" Amy asked, angrily.

Robin rolled his eyes at this. "You would make the connection if you even bothered to check the cameras," he explained.

Amy folded her arms at this.

"But what should we do?" Yuki asked.

"Hoohoo~! What should you do, you ask? I'll tell you what you should do! Head over to the gym for a special announcement!" Monkomi said from the speakers, making some of us jump.

"How did he?" Yuki asked.

"I told you, the mastermind might be listening in on us," Robin replied.

Great, now finding a room that doesn't have any cameras or speakers is a must. If only it was that simple, I thought.

We all went to the gym to see what 'fun' announcement did Monkomi had planned.

Monkomi was sitting on the stage by a microphone, waiting for us.

"Finally! I was growing cobwebs while waiting for you," he exclaimed. Some of us groaned at this.

"What do you want now?" Toshino asked, folding his arms.

"Since all of you have been dropping like flies, I thought I would give you all a gift. The rest of the first floor is yours to explore!" Monkomi explained, throwing his stubby arms in the air in celebration.

...

"Huh?"

"Geez you should at least show a little bit of emotion that doesn't say 'Huh?' I spend all the time unlocking the rest of the first floor for you all and this is the thanks I get?" Monkomi folded his arms, unhappily.

"It's funny that now later on, you decide to open up the rest of this floor. When we already have been living here for what a couple days, maybe a week. Why now?" Robin asked.

"That is none of your concern. Now shoo and go investigate or something," Monkomi said and disappeared.

"So should we explore whatever he opened up on the first floor?" Sora asked.

"I mean that's what he wants us to do. Are we sure that it's safe?" Toshiaki asked.

"I don't think Monkomi would want to kill us directly himself. He would much rather have us kill each other unless we broken a rule or something," Robin explained.

"Yeah that makes sense. Now where exactly should we go and explore?" Jun asked.

I glanced at the other entrance to the gym that was usually locked. Nobody really said anything about it since we had other manners on our hands. Mainly trying to stay alive and stuff.

"I think we should go there," I said, pointing at the door.

"Isn't that door usually locked?" Amy asked.

"Ok and? Monkomi said that he unlocked the rest of the first floor and we couldn't enter in that direction beforehand so that must be the rest of the floor," Ichigo pointed out.

"Tch," was all Amy said.

We walked through the door to see that it was basically the same but with new rooms.

The first difference is that there was a wallpaper. The wallpaper that was usually stone grey on the floor where they were originally at, was now a maroon color with some light gold.

The light was a warm golden unlike the bright yellow that they were living in. It looked more homey.

"Why does it look familiar?" I heard Robin muttered.

"Hey what's this?" Toshiaki snatched something off a small table nearby that held a plant pot.

"Welcome to Hope's Peak installation 2." What's installation 2?" Toshiaki asked.

"Is that a pamphlet of sort?" Yuki asked. "Nah it's just some paper with the Hope's Peak stamp on it," Toshiaki waved it around.

"Installation 8and 2..what does that mean?" Robin asked.

"How are we supposed to know? We literally just got here," Toshino pointed out.

"Then let's explore. We should split up in small groups of three," Jun announced.

"Groups of three?" Ichigo asked.

"Better safe than sorry. Who knows what will happen if there's a group of two? Someone may get killed by an untrustworthy partner," Jun pointed.

"I guess b-but how will w-we pick our partners?" Hirohito asked.

"I say we draw straws," Jun held up some straws in his hands. "If you end up with the three longest straws, you're in a group. If you end up with the three medium size straws, you're in a group. If you end up with the three smallest straws, you're in a group. Does anyone have any questions?"

"There's 12 of us so there would be no odd groups. Alright, who wants to start?" Robin asked.

Ichigo raised her hand. "I wanna go!" She said.

She walked over to Jun and picked out a straw.

"Aww boo! I got the smallest straw," she said, most likely pouting even though we couldn't her face. When does she take that clown mask off? It's kind of unnerving.

"Guess I'm going next," Kazuno volunteered.

She also walked over to Jun and picked out a straw. It was medium size.

"C-can I go n-next?" Hirohito asked and Jun nodded.

He walked over to him and picked out a straw. It was large.

(Time skip)

"Alright Kuro, it's your turn," Robin said.

I was the last two to pick out a straw. Amy and I haven't picked one yet.

I walked up to Jun and picked out a straw.

"Damn it's the smallest straw from all the straws here," Ichigo exclaimed.

"And I thought I had the toughest luck here," Toshino said, looking at his.

"Haha, laugh it up," I muttered.

Looks like I'm in a group with Ichigo and Toshino, I thought.

"And that leaves Amy with the last medium size straw," Jun said and gave her the straw.

Amy took a look at it and saw who she had to partner with. Kazuno and Kana.

Kazuno didn't look too excited about this and Kana just stared blankly at her.

Amy narrowed her eyes at them. Mainly at Kana. Can't blame her though especially on what happened last time.

"Looks like we all got our groups. Now let's go!" Jun said.

I took a look around at the groups. They were odd pairings but hopefully it would work out. And I have a lot of hope for this because a lot of us are polar opposites of each other.

Group A- Hirohito, Yuki and Sora

Group B- Kazuno, Kana and Amy

Group C- Robin, Jun and Toshiaki

And finally

Group D- Ichigo, Toshino and I.

Let's hope that nothing bad happens

The three groups left, leaving my group there.

"So where to Tami~chan and Niisan?" Ichigo asked.

Wait...Niisan?

A/N: you guys do know what Niisan means right? I'm just double checking.

Anyway, short start to Chapter 3. I'm excited to write it and I hope you'll enjoy it.
