Chapter 2 Deadly Life part 2
I walked downstairs to see if any clues have expanded there. Probably not but it wouldn't hurt to check.
I went to the kitchen and saw that the spices was still there.
This confused me because last I saw it, it was filled with poisons when Toshino destroyed them.
Wait...
What reason did he do that for?
I have to find Toshino to question him about it.
[My account has been added to your Truth Bullets]
I decided to check the nurse's office to see if he was still there and to my surprise, he was.
Toshino was just staring at the wall, not noticing that I was there until I cleared my throat.
"Hmm? Oh it's you," he said, turning to face me.
"So who's dead?" Toshino asked, getting straight to the point (ain't no way this man is straight lol)
"Minami. Listen before the body announcement played, I saw you in the kitchen. You destroyed some things and when you left, I went over to check out what you destroyed and the labels read some sort of poison. Did you know about this beforehand and didn't tell us?" I asked.
Toshino stayed quiet for a moment before answering, "If I did spoke up about it earlier, it would have been a much easier way for someone to kill us all by poisoning our food since they were behind the spices."
...
"You could have least tell someone who you trust the most," I said but he just rolled his eyes at me.
"I don't trust anyone here. End of story," Toshino said but I had an odd feeling that he was lying. At least...a little bit.
It just felt like something was off about his words.
"Is that all you wanted to talk to me about?" He asked.
"Ah yes! I was wondering if you saw someone acting suspicious before the blackout. Since you were one of the few who didn't went to the party, you must have seen someone," I explained.
"No I didn't. Sorry to burst your bubble Kuro but I didn't. I actually don't remember much ever since I passed out in the kitchen. All I remember is smelling something sweet," Toshino explained.
"Something sweet? It must have been the food or something edible," I muttered but he shook his head.
"Something covered my mouth as I accidentally switched the spices for poisons. I don't remember what though," Toshino explained.
What?
"You too?" I asked.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked. I bit my lip, trying to think how to explain it to him.
"Kuro, what do you mean 'you too?'" Toshino asked, getting up from where he was sitting and looking at me directly in the eyes.
...
I explained it to him about Minami and Kana and the chloroform that Ichigo found in the storage room before quickly turning away, hoping that my face wasn't as red as I felt it was.
"So whoever the culprit is, they knew where the chloroform was in order to use it on me before using it on the girls," Toshino noted.
"We all know about the storage room but only two people have actually been in it," I said.
"However, there is a possibility that one of them told the culprit where to find it," Toshino suddenly said.
"Huh?"
"Think about it this way. Maybe the culprit used an accomplice to tell them where the chloroform beforehand, using it on me to silence me, then caused the blackout to use this opportunity to disarm Minami and Kana who could have been a witness or to frame her before killing Minami," Toshino theorized.
That...actually fits in with the evidence that I found. But that still leaves the question on why go the lengths to kill Minami and how did they kill her. Then there's the burnt wires and melted candle. This case is messy, I thought.
"Is that all?" Toshino asked and I nodded.
"Thanks. This helps a lot," I said and left the nurse's office.

I quickly headed to the kitchen to see what Toshino meant about switching the spices for poisons.
I looked around to see if I could do exactly that.
Nothing.
"God dammit!" I slammed my hand on the counter and heard a Click sound and the spices flipped around to show empty vials and some broken glass.
Yes! I thought and grabbed one. It was an antidote for a poison. I found it!
This got me thinking about what Toshino said. Someone saw the poisons that wasn't him, so...was Minami poisoned? If only I knew with which one...

I walked out of the kitchen and bumped into Uyeda.
"Ah! Uyeda, what are you doing here?" I asked, surprised.
"I was looking for you. I forgot to tell you an important thing," he explained.
"Well what is it?" I asked, tilting my head curious.
"I saw Minami acting strangely before the party, after Kazuno and Robin's desires got revealed. Very early afternoon. I thought I saw her go in the storage room but I'm not quite sure," Uyeda explained.
"What? She went in the storage room? How come?" I asked.
"That I don't know. I heard from Ichigo about this term 'Chloroform' and apparently it knocks people out. I have heard of it and how it can affect the human body if it was used. I checked on Kana and she didn't share any symptoms of her being affected by it. She did get knocked out, I was just checking on her to see if she would get any health problems which she doesn't," he explained.
I see...
"So you're saying that Minami knew about the chloroform? Who told her?" I asked but he merely shrugged.
"I hope this helps even a little bit," Uyeda said.
"Erm yeah actually. Thanks," I thanked him.

Ding ding Dong
"Hoohoo~ investigation time has ended. Everyone head to the courtyard and follow the pathway all the way to the fork and turn a left like last time. Wait for me to let you all in the elevator. Get ready for the trial!" Monkomi said from his screen.
"Looks like the trial is going to start. We should head over," Uyeda said.
"Yeah...," I felt so nervous. I had help last time but I wasn't quite sure how this will turn out.
I felt sick, my stomach felt like it's being tied up in knots.
I didn't feel ready for this.
"Kuro are you alright?" Uyeda asked, concerned.
I couldn't show them that I couldn't do this. I have to be brave. Brave for us all. I need to be strong.
I swallowed and nodded to Uyeda.
"I'm fine," was all I said.
We walked to the courtyard to see that the others were walking to the fork.
At last, we arrived at the brick wall and waited for Monkomi to let us in.
Everyone had more or less the same expression. Fear, nervousness, pain, grief, sadness and many more. Nobody wanted to go through this again.
Not after last time.
But we must...
Or we all die.
It's the game with our lives on the line.
13 students enter the trial room, only 12 come out alive.
Our numbers keep decreasing but they wouldn't anymore. Not after this. I'll put a stop to this killing game, one way or another.
I just have to. I got all the evidence I feel like I need.
So...
Why do I have an uneasy feeling??
A/N: next chapter is the trial. I'm both excited and nervous about this.
Any theories on who killed Minami?
Hope you enjoy this chapter.
