Chapter 2 Daily Life part 5
Ding Dong
"Everyone up! It's morning time! Time to eat some yuuuuuuuuumy breakfast Hoohoo~!"
That was the announcement. Time to get up I guess.
I slid off my bed because I'm too lazy to sit up and changed out of my pajamas and into my regular clothes.
I walked out of my dorm to see the others have already gathered in the dining room, eating breakfast or just chilling.
I didn't feel like eating so I just sat down in one of the chairs. Probably going to regret not eating later but meh who cares. It's not like something important is going to happen today.
"I'm bored!" Ichigo said, pouting(or at least she looked like she was pouting).
"Well go find something to entertain yourself!" Amy snapped at her, clearly done with her bull.
"But I'm not sure what to do," Ichigo explained.
"Hmm...I have an idea. Why don't we have a mini party at the arcade that Sora and Kuro found yesterday? It would be a great way to take our minds off of this," Minami suggested suddenly.
A party?
Some of us exchanged looks. The last time we all did a get together type of thing, someone was killed. Maybe it's not a good idea to be having a party when there is a legit killing game going on.
"I think it's a great idea!" Kazuno said suddenly. Say whaaaaat? When did she started to simp for Minami?
"Myeh? What are you talking about?" Ichigo asked.
"I say that it is a great idea. We need to be optimistic in these types of situation and a party can help us cope together through this. Even if it is mini," Kazuno explained.
"I dunno. Maybe someone could die when we least expect it," Toshino said in a low voice. Chills went up my spine when he said that. I mean he's right in a way, I thought.
"It is not a bad idea if I must be honest. We can always set up a buddy system if we are that worried about a murder happening," Sora suggested.
"Myeh. I'm still not going either way," Ichigo placed her head on the table. "Didn't you say you were bored?" Amy asked.
"Yeah but I value my life. I'm not going to a suicidal party. Someone can murder me or someone else. It's not worth it," Ichigo pointed out.
"Weren't you the same one who wanted the trial to not be boring," Amy asked.
"Yeah yeah but it's not trial time is it. But I just don't wanna die that's all. What's wrong with that?" Ichigo muttered.
"Well saying that you don't wanna die and saying that the trial should be more exciting are two different things. Wouldn't it be more exciting if you ended up as the killer and we all struggled to figure out that it was you?" Yuki asked.
"I don't wanna think about it, myeh. I have morals you know. I'm not just going to murder someone just for the fun of it. That's what a psycho would do," Ichigo pointed out.
Not what I was expecting for someone like her to say but at least we know that there's a large possibility that Ichigo will most likely not be a blacken...at least...
I hope so...

"Hoohoo~ students, please head over to gym for the second part of the motive. Be sure to get there on time or else iiiiiiiiiit's punishment time for you!" Monkomi explained in the screen that he appeared in.
Oh right. I forgot about the motive, I thought and glanced at Minami. She didn't look too happy about this news. It's been a rough day for her yesterday.
We all headed down to the gym to see who's desire is going to get reveal. I was not looking forward to it.
Monkomi popped up on the stage dramatically and said, "Goooooooood day to you students!"
"What the f*ck do you want now?" Toshino asked.
"Ok ok Geez. Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning," Monkomi sighed.
"Anyway, you all remember your motives correct? Well it's time to reveal another desire today," Monkomi said, cheerfully. Everyone stiffen at this. This is not going to end well.
Monkomi pressed a button and the same wheel appeared and spun.
.
.
.
.
It landed on Kazuno.
"Hoohoo~ Kazuno's deepest desire is to have peace in the world. How boring if I have to be honest," Monkomi announced.
Some let a sigh of relief at this. Kazuno, however, looked very worried. She kept glancing at Amy, Toshino, Kana and Ichigo worriedly. I wonder why? I thought.
"Well that was boring! I'll roll for another one. Oh yeah, change of plans everyone. Instead of one, I'll reveal two desires. To, you know, spice things up," Monkomi explained, which everyone stiffened again at this.
Two?! Wasn't one enough!
Monkomi pressed the button again and the wheel began to spin again.
.
.
.
.
It landed on Robin.
"Robin's deepest desire is an odd one. His desire is to stop the mastermind and their quest for despair. Hoohoo~ how scary...NOT!" Monkomi announced.
Robin shuffled uncomfortably at this. His eyes showed fear when he looked at Monkomi. Why fear? What's he afraid of? I wondered.
Robin always seems to keep his cool even during the trial where the game of life or death is on the line. But now...
"Ok enough of exposing you students. Go off and do what the hell you all plan on doing," Monkomi said, shooing us off.
"What was that all about? It didn't seem too extreme like last time. What's his deal?" Amy asked. Everyone exchanged worried looks at each other.
"Maybe he's just warming up so then later, he can absolutely embarrassed us all. Enough to make us kill," Yuki suggested.
"Uwah?! Not cool man. No need to scare us like that," Toshiaki said.
"Sorry," Yuki muttered. Toshiaki patted his head as if to let him know that he didn't really mean it.
"So what are we going to do now?" Jun asked.
"Now...do whatever you want, I care less," Toshino said and walked away from the group.
"Tch whatever," Amy turned her back from his direction.
"I guess he has a point since we don't have anything better to do," I muttered quietly but this was heard by Amy.
"Huh?! Since when do you agree with him?" She asked.
"What do you mean? I'm just agreeing to him on a mutual level," I said but that didn't satisfy her. Amy got close to me and said, "No I feel like you aren't just agreeing to him on a mutual respect. Just what's your deal with him?"
What's my deal? Wait...what the hell is she talking about?
"Ok. Ok, leave Tami~chan alone. He clearly doesn't want to talk to you about stuff that he is oddly oblivious about. Now shoo and do whatever you want," Ichigo said, jumping right in front of me. Amy left with a huff.
"Erm thanks Ichigo," I said. "It's nothing," Ichigo skipped away.
"Ok enough of awkward silence shipping thing that was somehow brought randomly. We should do something to keep our minds off of things," Robin said, trying to move the conversation on to other things.
"Hoohoo~ and I got the perfect thing for that!" Monkomi appeared suddenly, scaring the daylights of other people.
"What the f*ck?!" Amy shouted angrily.
"Follow me!" Monkomi bounced away.
"Should we follow him?" Yuki asked.
"I don't trust him. Not one bit," Jun replied, crossing his arms.
"Ok one of us has to follow him first before the rest of us follow. Just to make sure that it's safe. Kuro why don't you go," Kana suggested.
Excuse me but what the f*ck?!
"What is this? Make Kuro the guinea pig week?" I asked.
"I don't see anyone volunteering," Kana explained.
"Oh so it's ok to use me as a test subject? Not cool," I grumbled.
I walked away, following Monkomi. Not the greatest move. However I didn't need to worry. Monkomi led me to the second floor and opened up a door that has been unassailable up until now.
The room had a lot of wires all connected to a large computer. Around the computer were chairs with some VR headsets. 16 chairs...there were sixteen of us before...what's this?
"It's a fun game system! You have heard of virtual reality right? Well this is a system where you can play mini games virtually. You play as a avatar that has been created for you and explore the world and play the mini games as like say quests for a larger story inside of the game. Like an RPG of sorts," Monkomi explained. "Interesting," I muttered.
"So how would it work? What if your avatar dies in the game? Does that affect you in real life?" I asked. "Hoohoo~ nope! You do not get affected in real life. You don't die if your avatar dies. However you might have to collect some Monocoins to revive your avatar to keep on playing," Monkomi explained.
"What are Monocoins?" I asked.
"Oh right. I forgot you got your E-Handbook late. Monocoins are coins that you can collect around here and they are stored in your E-Handbook. They can be used to buy various things from here or to buy presents for your fellow classmates," Monkomi explained and I took out my E-Handbook.
What I didn't notice beforehand is that there was a Monkomi icon with X10 and an icon for a coin.
"Everyone starts with ten Monocoins and you can start collecting them once you have poked around the place long enough," Monkomi explained.
"You know you could have told us this way before. To cover up unnecessary plot holes," I said, stuffing my E-Handbook away.
"Yeah but it's not my fault that this game was unexpected," Monkomi explained.
"...wait what?" I asked.
"Whoops did I say that out loud? You weren't supposed to know that," Monkomi said.
"Wasn't supposed to know what?" I asked. Monkomi disappeared quickly. What's he hiding? I thought.
Guess I got to let the others know that this is safe and that I'm not dead. And I got to find a way to discuss what Monkomi said without the mastermind finding out due to the cameras, I thought.
I know that we discuss a lot of things but the mastermind must have been among us or they already have seen those rooms so it would have been pointless for them to listen to. The only thing that they can benefit from was the theories that we came up with. If only there was a room that didn't have any cameras.
I walked up to the others and explained to them what Monkomi explained, leaving out the mysterious thought that he had said out loud. I wasn't quite ready to share with the group of what he had said.
"So all he wanted to share was a virtual reality mini game system?" Amy asked.
"Seems so," I said. "Well at least we have something to keep our minds off of things for now," Robin said.
"I guess...," I said, feeling uncertain about this.

I'm sorry if this chapter seems lazy, I'm starting to feel less motivated to write the daily life and I want to get to the trial since that's the fun part but I know I can't at the moment.
The last chapter of the daily life will be next chapter so watch out for that and make guesses on who is going to die this chapter.
So this virtual reality game that is introduced. Yeah it's mainly going to be a free time event. Something that would happen during the free times so instead of sleeping, investigating or hanging out with someone, the protagonist gets the option of using this with one partner.
If Into Code was made into a game (highly unlikely) then this could be added in as a fun little mini game.
Will it play an important part later on? Maybe I dunno but as of right now it's mainly going to be something of free time.
