Chapter 1 Deadly Life part 1
Yesh we are finally in Deadly life/Investigation.
(Kuro's PoV)
Nononononono!
This...
This can't be happening.
I silently hope that this was a prank set up by Moriyo. That this wasn't real, it was fake. She can't be dead!
I went up to her body, ignoring Toshiaki's cries of protests. I felt for a pulse, a heartbeat, anything. But felt nothing. Her body was already cold meaning all warmth from her was gone. Forever.
It wasn't that long ago that I saw her, alive and well. "Kuro we have to tell the others," Toshiaki said, shaking my shoulder. ...
"Alright," I said but just then I heard someone go by. "Hey guys wh-what are you doing h-here?" It was Hirohito. "The others are a-already at the dining r-," he saw her body and screamed. And then...
Ding Dong Bing Bong!
"Hoohoo~ a body has been discovered. Please head down to the computer lab to begin the investigation." Monkomi.
So it was really true. Moriyo was really dead. I heard a clutter of footsteps coming in this direction and just like that, the rest of the students arrived.
"So who's dead?" Toshino asked and got whacked in the back of the head by I assume Amy because I heard her hiss, "Shut up," under her breath.
"MORIYO NO!" Kazuno cried and tried to rush over to her side but Rin stopped her. "I'm sorry but... she's dead," Rin said, her voice trembling with emotion...sadness. "Guys we have to investigate on who killed her," Robin said. "Well that weird monkey did say that we're supposed to investigate. And I definitely remember something in the rules say about a class trial happening afterwards," Jun said.
"Let's investigate in pairs and let's try not to crowd around the body," Robin said. "Hey Kuro, mind if we investigate together?" Rin asked. "Umm s-sure," I said but Robin stopped me. "Yeah sorry but I told her earlier that we would investigate," he said, narrowing his eyes at her. "Oh ok," Rin said, sounding confused.
There was an odd Thunk noise and someone saying, "There, there." It was Toshino and Ichigo. Toshino had seem to hit a chair and is now on his knees and hands while Ichigo pats his shoulder. That was odd.
Robin pulled me over to Moriyo's body. "Alright let's see if she holds any clues on how she died," he said. "Huh?" Robin sighed, "If she holds any clues like how she was killed, we can use this to find out who her killer would be." At that, my blood turned cold. Someone...really did kill her at their hands. I gulped and said, "Alright."
[Investigation START!]
I walked up to Moriyo's body and crouch down. "If only we knew what killed her," I heard Robin murmur. "It's probably this whip right here," I said, pointing to her neck. "The murder weapon is out...in the open? Either this was a rushed murder or they intentionally left it there," Robin speculated.
"Hoohoo~ good day students," Monkomi suddenly appeared. "What is it now?" Robin asked, seemingly tired. "Just thought you would need my help in this. So I present you these. Ta-da!" Monkomi handed Robin and I some tablets. "These are Monkomi Files. They have information about the victim, their cause of death and what time that they died," Monkomi explained. Then he disappeared which was random.
"Guess we got to look at the files," Robin said. He read them out loud.
>Victim name: Moriyo Hana, Ultimate Ranger
>CoD: strangulation
>ToD: 9:37 pm (nighttime hours)
>Height: 5'9
>Weight: 155 lbs
The victim appeared to have been strangled last night a little before curfew.
"It doesn't give us much additional information. Just that she was strangled before curfew. I don't think many of us were up during that time," Robin said. "Still, this file could be useful for like the time of death right?" I asked. "Yeah you're right. We must find any type of information and evidence that lines up with Moriyo's murder," Robin replied.

"Excuse me but mind if you move a bit. I need to do an autopsy on her," a voice behind us said. It was Uyeda.
Oh that's right. As a doctor, he might be able to spot something that we might not be able to see, I thought. "Go right on ahead," Robin said and allowed Uyeda to pass. Uyeda took a while examining Moriyo before stating, "Blood loss." "Huh?"
"She appears to have small wounds on her wrists and fingers. If you can see here on the whip that there are little splashes of blood on it. Now if you remove it and I hope I'm not tampering with the crime scene," Uyeda carefully removed the whip from Moriyo's neck and pointed to it. "There doesn't seem to be a cut on her neck. Just the usual signs that a victim would have been strangled," he said in a 'And that's that' final type of tone.
"So she must have struggled enough to have the blood on her fingers and wrists spill on the whip," Robin said. "Correct. I hope this was good enough for evidence," Uyeda got up and bowed. "Y-yeah thanks Uyeda," I said.

"Tami~chan! Mind if you and Robin come here for a sec," that was Ichigo.
She and Toshino were standing next to a computer. "But I thought that the computers were out of service," Robin said. "Yeah but somehow the culprit was able to boot this one up. We found a some sort of tape here. Must have been from a security camera," Toshino said. "Security cameras?" I asked. "Oh my god and I thought you were actually useful Kuro. Didn't you do any investigation? There are security cameras here," Toshino explained. "Don't be rude to Tami~chan! But he's right about the security cameras," Ichigo said, putting her hands on her hips.
"I have an odd feeling about this tape so you mind checking it out. I don't want to pull any suspicions but I dunno really," Toshino narrowed his eyes at me before gesturing to the computer. Why did he look at me like that? I wondered. I didn't need to wait that long for my answer though. Upon looking at the tape, it was a recording from last night. It featured Moriyo, alive and well. And she was talking to me. I guess this was when we had a bit of an awkward start to a conversation. Then later, it show me entering the computer lab again. This was most likely when I went to get the markers. Huh?
"That can't be right," I muttered. "Hmm what do you mean?" Robin asked. "It says here that at the time of this recording, it's around eight thirty but when I talked to Moriyo, I'm pretty sure it was still early evening," I explained. "Maybe it's tampered but what do I know," Toshino said. "You're the Ultimate Hacker, of course you would know," Ichigo pointed out. "Yeah you are right but I wouldn't waste my time changing the time of a security tape," Toshino said. "So we can come to the conclusion that this tape has been tampered," Robin said. All Toshino did was shrug.

"Hey you two. Mind if you go and gather everyone's alibi's from six to nine?" Robin asked. "Why?" Ichigo asked while Toshino just rose an eyebrow. "It's to narrow down on who the culprit is," Robin explained.
"Fine. But you'll have to give us your alibi as well," Toshino groaned. Robin scratched the back of his head. "I was taking a nap to be honest. It's not a very good alibi," he explained. "Yeah same here," I muttered. And with that Toshino and Ichigo left to gather the alibis.
I turned to Robin. "So why did you send them off to gather alibis?" I asked.
"The time gap. You said that you talked to Moriyo around early evening but here it says eight thirty-seven. According to the Monkomi File, she would have died an hour later. However you also have entered the lab a few minutes later. No way would you have killed Moriyo in that short amount of time," Robin explained.
"Oh y-yeah you're right. Someone must be trying to frame me. Oh look, there's a clock there," I pointed at the recording. "I wonder if we can zoom in to see the time," Robin said. I smiled at this. "Leave it to me," I clicked right and a tool bar popped up. I moved the mouse to the magnifying glass and went to the positive to zoom in. I managed to zoom in on the clock and read the time.
"That's it! I talked to Moriyo at six twenty-nine. And a little bit after I went to the computer lab," I said. "What did you do during that time gap?" Robin asked. "Went to the bathroom and then my dorm to sleep. Apparently I only slept for a bit before heading to the dining room with Toshiaki," I explained, not wanting to share more details. "So someone must have decided to shorten the time to make it look like you killed Moriyo because of what the tape shows us but they didn't count the clock," Robin said. "The time gap was surprisingly long but here, it only shows an hour. What was the culprit thinking?" I muttered.

"Still I wonder how they would be able to do that?" Robin asked. "Hey I didn't want to bring this up but do you think the sharing Ultimates class has to do something with this?" I asked.
A/N: bwahahahaha cliffhanger >:3
I'm evil I know. I didn't want to cram the investigation in one chapter and thought I would separate it in two chapters.
Any theories on who is the killer? I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
Hope you enjoy it
Have a nice day -Flare
