Chapter 1 Daily Life part 6

A/N: last chance to guess who dies before it gets revealed at the end of this chapter.
TW: implied past bullying, hating on one's body. Self conscious and hating themselves.

(Kuro's PoV: First Person)

My "class" ended up at the computer lab that we found after searching for a while.

"So coding, how hard is it?" Uyeda asked. "Coding from scratch can be hard but I guess for starters, you can use this coding website that I found a while back. But I don't think I can find it at the m...moment?" I tried turning on the computer but it failed. "*sigh* looks like they don't have power," Toshino said, putting his chin on his arms on top of the chair that he was sitting on.

(You know how Rantaro sits in that pose with the chair. Yeah imagine Toshino sitting that way)

"Well you can still teach us the basics at least," Robin said. "Uhh y-yeah, I can," I said.

(Time skip after Kuro explained the basics of coding because I didn't know. Sorry I should have researched this) (I still should have researched while editing this)

"So coding is similar to what I do with hacking," Toshino muttered to himself. "This was very interesting Kuro," Uyeda said, fiddling with his mask.

"How long was this again?" Robin asked. Toshino reached for something in his pocket and took out his E-Handbook.

"Half hour. Coding seems like a lot of work. How do you do it?" He asked. "It was a hobby before my b-brother decided to make a game and had my sister and I help with it," I explained before remembering the motive. "Oh cool cool. Hacking was my hobby as well. Still don't understand why I would be an Ultimate because of that," Toshino said.

"Maybe Hope's Peak found potential in you. What did you use your hacking skills for exactly?" Uyeda asked. "Eh you don't wanna know. I was told to tone it down when I scouted out. I mainly use them to look outside of game maps. Just to see what the creators were working on behind the scenes but without ruining the fun for others," Toshino explained. "I still wish I remember my talent," Robin said.

"What do you even remember about your talent?" Uyeda asked. Robin took out the coin and card. "It has to do with these two objects but I'm not sure what," he explained. "Tch maybe you're the Ultimate Garbage Collector," Toshino snickered before getting hit in the face with the coin. "Shut it," Robin said.

"Settle down. Since we still have time, who would like to share their talent next?" Uyeda said. "Not it!" Toshino shouted. Guess that's expected since his may be similar to mine, I thought.

"Looks like you're up Uyeda," Robin said. "Alright alright," Uyeda got up and went to the whiteboard next to me. "You may sit down if you like," he said, gesturing to the chair. "A-alright," I said and went to sit down.

Uyeda proceeded to explain medical terms, using diagrams so we would pay attention. Only Robin and I were actually paying attention, Toshino just stared off into space. Does he even care about what's going on? I thought, a bit bitter at him.

(Another time skip. wOw!)

"And that's how stitches works. I won't get too in depth since I'm technically still a trainee compared to actual doctors," Uyeda explained. "That's still pretty interesting considering your age. How did you get the title of Ultimate Doctor?" Robin asked. "I was an assistant to my father who is an actual doctor. Or...at least was," he said, his eyes turning sad. Robin and I picked up the sadness and exchanged looks. "Was he your motive?" Robin asked. Uyeda nodded. "I...I'd rather not talk about it," he said. "It's alright, I won't push. Those motives are terrifying to dwell on," Robin explained, looking away. I silently agreed and heard Toshino grunt in agreement. Was he listening to the conversation? I wondered.

"Well guess we should head out since there is nothing to do," Toshino said, getting up from his chair. "R-right," I quickly got up from the chair and put it away. Robin did the same to his chair and Uyeda erased the whiteboard. The four of us headed out.

"Hey Kuro, a word," Monkomi appeared. I flinched, still not used to the robot monkey plushie thing. "What is it?" I asked, nervously. "It has come to my attention that you're the only one who doesn't have their E-handbook. So if you need help remembering the rules, just ask your classmates. I'm still searching for it," Monkomi explained.

I guess he's right. They didn't seem confused on the E-handbooks...minus me, I thought, nodding. "Alright that's all I needed to tell you," Monkomi disappeared. This bothered me however, why doesn't he have it?

"What was that all about?" Toshino asked. "Just Monkomi telling me that apparently I'm the only one who doesn't have their E-handbook," I explained. "Oh that would explain a lot. "Huh?" "Your profile is inaccessible. All it says that to wait until user is connected," he explained, taking out his own E-handbook. He showed me that it was true. There was an empty spot with the words, 'Wait until user is connected.' "What does it mean by that?" I asked. "Beats me, Monkomi hasn't explained to us all it's capabilities. I have been messing around with it but nothing," Toshino explained.

"Maybe he'll tell us in time?" I suggested. "You're an odd one Kuro. At first you didn't seem to be at all talkative but now you seem to be running your mouth off. I don't get you," Toshino said, putting his E-handbook back in his pocket. "I guess I'm starting to feel comfortable around you guys," I said. "Oh really. So you're comfortable around people like me?" Toshino asked. I merely shrugged.

Toshino looked like he wanted to say something but was interrupted by someone clearing their throat. It was Rin.

"Great it's Ms. Goodie Two shoes. Welp see you around Kuro," Toshino left to do something. "So what was that all about?" Rin asked. "Just talking about the E-Handbooks," I explained, causing Rin to make a small noise. "So you're done with your 'class' now?" I asked, hoping to change the subject.

"Yeah, finished a while ago. I'm planning on making a private tutor session later on. Hey can I ask you a favor?" Rin asked. "Sure what's up?" I asked.

"Can you teach me so basics of coding? I'm just curious on how your talents work," Rin said. "Oh umm sure, when would be a good time?" I asked.

"Now."

"Huh now?"

"Yep, I just want to know you a bit better," Rin said and grabbed my arm and pulled me over to where the computer lab was. "Now show me."

(Another time skip wow!)

"And that's how it's done," I explained. "So that's how it's done. Thanks I learned a lot," Rin smiled.

All I really did was to show her how to code basic commands and I guess how to code on prerecorded recording. Wonder what was that all about, I thought. "Oh look at the time, it's almost time for dinner," Rin said and left the computer lab. I followed her out and we went out separate ways. I entered the dining room where I got hit in the chest with a pie.

"Oops sorry Tami~chan! My apologies," Ichigo said, skipping up to me. "This is why I didn't want to see your god dam tricks. BOTH OF YOU!" Kana snapped. "Sorry Big Sis," Yuki apologized. "It's alright. *sigh* let me go change then," I said and walked out. I could hear Kana scolding both Ichigo and Yuki. They both mean well, it's just that they can get a bit carried away.

I wiped away the pie remains from my suit. Damn looks like I need to change completely, I thought. I entered my dorm and shut the door behind me lightly. I opened my closet to pick out my clothes (which were the same of the clothes that I had on me) and changed.

I brushed back my hair and placed my hat in my head. Hopefully they wouldn't notice t h a t, I thought. I fixed up my tie and left my dorm.

I was walking towards the dining room when I heard my name being called. "Oi Kuro wait up!" It was Moriyo. "Oh hey, what do you need me for?" I asked, waving my hand a little. "Oh well I wanted to share some nature fashion tips with you but you'll find them useless because of...you know," she gestured at me. What the hell?!

"O-oh really?" I asked, pretending to not know what she was talking about. "Hmm my lips are sealed until you're ready to reveal but now is not the time," Moriyo explained.

"Anyway, so coding? Do you mainly code games?" She asked, changing the subject.

"Yeah, I code in the basic commands that the characters have to do like jump with a certain control," I explained. "Cool cool. I haven't been around the city too much so technology is fairly new to me. Not that I don't know how to use it. I know how to use TV remotes, phones and a little bit of computers but that's about it for me so I'm generally curious about your talent. So do you remember how you got your talent?" Moriyo asked.

Hmmm...

"When Jumping Usami became a successful mini game. My brother was accepted into Hope's Peak as the Ultimate Game Designer and later I got accepted as the Ultimate Coder. I'm pretty sure my sister might get accepted in too though I'm not sure what her talent might be," I explained. "Ooh a talent between siblings. That's so cool!" Moriyo said, her eyes shining with admiration. "Erm thanks," I said, scratching the back of my head. "Anyway I think your talent is pretty interesting so I'll give it nine out of ten. Now I'll go talk to either Rin or Toshino about their talents. Ooh maybe even Kana," she said.

"Oh I believe Kana is in the dining room and Rin went somewhere over there and I don't know where Toshino is," I said, gesturing to where Rin left. "Oh cool, thank you," Moriyo left. I almost smiled. Moriyo seems like a nice and trustworthy person. If anyone would not kill it would be her, I thought. That being said...

Does she know? I didn't want to have the others feel bad if I corrected them on this but...how did she know? Panicked thoughts swam through my mind. I took a few deep breaths in and out. Nope this isn't working, I thought and ran towards the bathroom, not seeing which one I entered through. I took off my hat and splashed water on my face. Calmdowncalmdowncalmdowncalmdown!

I was screaming to myself to calm down and yet my body didn't want to. My breathing became hoarse as I shook. She means well but the others... I looked up at the mirror in front of me to see my reflection.

Scared, cowardly green eyes stared back at mine. Messy long black hair with that awful swirly hair antenna. I got made fun of that back in school. I was born with that so I couldn't control it and no matter how many times I begged my parents to cut it, they refused. They told me it's what makes me special. Even my siblings liked it. Eventually I grown accustomed to it but I still hid it from the rest of the world. I hid the ahoge, I believe it is called, under my hat. Being in this situation scared me and I wasn't quite sure if I'll survive or not. I eventually stopped staring at myself in the mirror and switched off the running water. I dried my face off with some paper towels and and placed my hat back on.

I didn't feel...right. I didn't feel ready to face my classmates so I headed back to my dorm, no longer feeling hungry. They can eat without me, I thought. I stopped by the computer lab to pick up the markers that were left behind. These are mine, I thought. I closed the door and went to my dorm that wasn't too far from here. I closed the door behind me and lie on my bed.

I closed my eyes and waited for sleep to come. It did came but it only lasted for a little bit. When I did woke up it was 8 almost nine. I grumbled to myself, hoping that sleep would claim me once again since I was not feeling like getting up. Fate had different plans for me though.

Knock knock

"Hmm?"

"Hey Kuro, you want some dinner? The others are worried about you. It's fine if you don't want to eat but just come out so we know you're not dead." Toshiaki.

I walked up to the door, making sure that my hat was still on before opening it. Toshiaki's face lit up. "Oh good you're still alive. The others were worried. Well I'm not sure about Minami, Toshino, Moriyo, Uyeda, Hirohito and Rin because I still haven't seen them yet," Toshiaki explained. I didn't saying anything. This caused an awkward silence between us so he cleared his throat. "So...wanna get som dinner with the rest of us who are there?" Toshiaki asked.

...

"Sure it's not like I got anything else to do," I said. "Ah great!" Toshiaki exclaimed and we both walked to the dining room. Some people were already there and were eating dinner. Ichigo and Yuki looked up and well Yuki's eyes widen with guilt and I had no idea what Ichigo's face was. Kana glared at them and they both got up and said, "We're sorry." "Oh that's alright. It was an accident," I said, not wanting them to feel bad. "Ok big sis," Yuki said and I flinched at that. Ichigo tilted her head but I glared at her and she got the message through her head.

(Another time skip! I should stop)

"That was some nice food," Ichigo exclaimed. "Geez you're a mess," Kana said, grabbing the plates. "How were you able to eat with your mask on?" Yuki asked. "It's my little secret Yuki~boy," Ichigo said.

"It's not that hard to see. There's a hole in the mouth of the mask that helps the food go through albeit small portions though," I said, taking a bite of an apple. "That's a...very good observation," Kazuno said. I merely shrugged, "If you pay attention to small details rather than the bigger picture, you'll see a lot of things that you may miss out." "Well it's almost curfew so I suggest we all go to bed," Kana pointed. "Indeed," Sora got up and left with Jun following a few seconds after her. Ichigo sprinted away to her own dorm and Kana left after her. At long last it was just me there. I washed my own plate because I didn't want to burden anyone with my own messes that I can clean up myself. I soon left to my dorm. I went straight to bed, not bothering to change out of my clothes and placed my hat on the nightstand. I waited for sleep to claim me.

(???'s PoV)

I'm sorry but it has to be done...

Hopefully no one catches me.

But what if someone did?

Crap, can't think about that now!

Got to get rid of the evidence, if anyone finds this they will know for sure that it was me.

It's almost 10. Got to go

(Back to Kuro's PoV)

The morning announcement went off and I got out of bed. I glanced at my hat and the band of markers that were used yesterday. I don't remember how I found those beforehand. They just appeared in my drawer but at least I know that school supplies aren't going low. Wait! Am I missing one?

I picked them up and realized that I was missing a blue marker. Crap how did I miss one, I thought. I grabbed my hat, placing it on my head and left my dorm.

Just as I was about to enter the computer lab, I heard my name being called. "Hey Kuro, what are you doing this early?" Toshiaki. What now?

"Hey I just went to grab something," I replied and opened the door. There I saw something horrifying. "K-kuro? You go-," Toshiaki cut himself off as soon as he saw what I saw.

TW: this may or may not be somewhat disturbing for others but my inability to draw dead bodies may tone it down. You have been warned.

Moriyo Hana, the Ultimate Ranger.

Dead

Yep first victim. You're welcome and I'm sorry for those who liked her.

Take a guess on who killed Moriyo. I tried not to make it way too obvious.

Find out in the next episode of DBZ I MEAN...in the class trial after the investigation.
