Chapter 1 Daily Life part 5
Everyone was staring at each other with distrust in their eyes. The ones who were near one another stepped further away each other. Others looked scared and some were even crying. Guess they got a motive similar to mine, I thought, gripping on the tablet. Even Toshino wasn't making snarky remarks for once. What is this feeling? Is it...despair?
Is that the goal of whoever is behind all of this?
So we can give in to despair?
...
"I'm going to my room," Yuki said and walked away, dragging his feet on the floor. His hat shadowed his face so we couldn't really see what expression he was making. "S-same," Minami muttered and turned to leave.
"Wait guys, this is exactly what Monkomi wants. He wants us to feel this way so we can try to murder someone. We need to stick together so we can come up with a plan to get out of here. No murders," Rin said, her eyes filling with determination. "What's the point?! Even if we did that, we'll just be given another motive and who knows how worse would it be?!" Minami said, her back still turned away from us. "Oh even worse than our families and friends either dead or tortured?!" Kazuno snapped. "Everyone try to act rational please," Robin begged, though his eyes told a different story. I felt afraid of this. Everyone was scared and confused. So much despair.
I hate this.
I hate this so much.
Ding dong!
"It's now 9 pm so that means it's almost curfew. Please clean your space up and head to your dorms," Monkomi's voice announced on what I assume were speakers. Everyone glared at one another and all headed to the direction of the dorms. I trailed behind the group, staring at the ground.
I want to go home and leave
(Traitor's PoV)
"Looks like your plan is working," I said, folding my arms. "Hoohoo~ you right you right! Ohh the despair it's sooo refreshing," the Mastermind giggled. I stiffened at their tone. Even though I couldn't see them (they were hidden behind a chair) I could tell that they were dangerous and someone whom we shouldn't mess with.
"So you know what to do. Pretend that you're all sad about the motive and continue playing your charade. Looks like it's working," the Mastermind explained. "Will do," I muttered.
I don't even need to pretend that I'm shook by the motives. Even I, the traitor couldn't escape it. "So what are planning to do now?" I asked. The Mastermind shuffled their papers around (I could tell from the noise) and said, "You'll see." So they still don't trust me, I thought. "Now go to your dorm before you are caught. You wouldn't want to get punished would you?" The Mastermind rasped. "... no," "Good boy," the Mastermind said. I'm like a dog serving their master but it'll be worth it...I hope, I thought as I slipped away to return to my dorm. It's all up to them to fend for themselves in this game. I'm counting on you-
"Ah!"
(Kuro's PoV)
I fell off my bed again as the announcement came on. "Gooooooood morning everyone. Time to start the day with some yummy breakfast!" Monkomi said and the screen disappeared after that. I grumbled to myself and changed into my clothes. I grabbed my hat and placed it on my head and headed out. And so it begins, I thought. Yesterday shook us all with the motives. I still couldn't get the image of my brother's shadow out of my head. It haunted my nightmares and I felt like I didn't get enough sleep because of it.
When I arrived at the dining room, only Ichigo, Yuki and Toshino were there. Yuki was reading something, Ichigo was eating cereal and Toshino was staring off into space. I went into the kitchen to get something to eat. I eventually settled on a banana and a cup of milk. I didn't feel that hungry. My stomach felt like it was digesting metal and was twisted into knots.
I went back to the dining room to see that some others have joined. Sora and Jun were the only who seemed to be friendly with each other. Toshiaki was tapping his fingers on the table, nervously. Robin had his head on the table and I couldn't see his face.
The atmosphere felt...sad and depressed. I sat down next to Toshino since it was the closest to where I was standing from. He didn't seem to notice me sit down next to him. I peeled off skin off the banana (A/N: is that what's it called? I forgot) and took a small bite and chewed. Slowly.
Rin walked in and she looked excited. What's she up to? I wondered. I didn't need to wait long for my answer.
Rin cleared her throat to gain our attention. It took a while but eventually the ones who were there turned their attention to her. Amy and Moriyo stood there, looking like they just arrived and stood a few feet away from each other uncomfortably. The distrust between them is so strong I could almost taste it. It was agonizing.
As soon as all eyes were in her, Rin smiled. "I have an idea to keep our minds off of the motives and the m...the murders," she explained. This caught me off guard. An idea? What could possibly keep our minds off of what happened, I thought. "What idea?" Toshino asked, sounding pretty irritated. "I was thinking that we should have a 'Sharing Ultimates' class," Rin suggested.
"Eh? Sharing Ultimates class? What's that?" Ichigo asked. "Basically we share our talents. Well the basics at least. We'll still be our own talents but it would be nice if we could at least learn a little bit more about ourselves and that could keep our minds of our current situation until we're in the right mindset of escape," Rin explained.
That...that doesn't seem like a bad idea, I thought. "So how would this work hypothetically. I mean we still distrust each other," Ichigo pointed out with the spoon. "Hmm if you insist that we should go in pairs. At least four and once we all regain each other's trust, that would be enough to show Monkomi that we won't kill anyone. No killing game at all," Rin explained. "So one of us shows how our talents are done while the three others watch and take notes like in a class. Am I right?" Amy asked. "Yeah, so who's volunteering? I volunteer to teach a class," Rin said. "I suppose I can teach another," Sora raised her hand. "Ooh ooh me!" Yuki suddenly said, jumping up and down. "So we got three. Now who will go to whose class?" Toshiaki asked. Rin held up a basket. "Put your names here and they'll be randomly selected," she said. The others just shrugged and looked for pieces of paper.
(Time skip to the drawing)
"I got it. Here the list," Rin said, putting the list down. All of us had gathered around the list. Rin pulled me aside and whispered, "There was a bit of an uneven amount of people so you have to teach a class. Don't worry don't worry, level headed people are in your class so no need to worry about messing up," she said, assuring me after seeing my panicked face. Oh the things I do for people, I thought.
Rin's class- Minami, Moriyo, Kazuno
Sora's class- Jun, Amy, Toshiaki
Yuki's class- Ichigo, Hirohito, Kana
Kuro's class- Robin, Uyeda, Toshino
Level headed people, my a*s, I thought. "So where should we go to teach?" Yuki asked. "Find a place to teach," Rin said. "Wait question, can we also teach others once their class is over?" Toshiaki asked. "Go for it if you like," Rin said, playing with a strand of hair. Soon everyone except for the three people that I have to teach left.
"So where do we go teach?" Toshino asked. "..." "I suggested that we go looking for place so Kuro can show us her coding skills, like a computer lab which I think we have," Robin suggested. "That doesn't seem like a bad idea at all," Uyeda said. And so we searched for one.
A/N: that's a good spot to stop. So if anyone is asking about the first murder, it would most likely happen next chapter. I'm not saying who dies and who gets executed. Feel free to guess tho 👀
